Chapter 4
Regardless of my overwhelmed feelings on some things, I was excited about the new kimonos that had been made with the fabric I chose. The excitement on my brother's face concerning the weapons was obvious as well. These were some of the new experiences that we would be introduced to. All the vampire lords were just snickering at us again as we were getting excited over such a small thing. I guess we looked funny to them, all excited over what they considered to be normal things. We finally arrived in Oshu about ten minutes after passing the grazing fields. Entering the gates of Oshu, we went down the streets and stopped next to the blacksmiths shop first. Getting out of the carriage we all went and took a look at them together. Noticing us come in, they were on the move rather quickly and went to the storage area. To our surprise, the blacksmith trotted up to us with a handful of completed weapons. Once again, we were surprised, they were done exquisitely. Running his hand along the blade of one of the pieces, my brother was in awe of the craftsmanship. I had never seen him look that way before. Hell, I was impressed, the carvings in them alone were impressive. The traditional etchings seemed to be that of the traditional warrior styles of what Oshu used to be. Tsubasa could not help but wonder what the history of the weapons were but decided to keep the curiosity to himself for now. There would be plenty of time to find out all that information, after all, they would be coming here quite often.
Tsubasa Endo: (Running his hands along one of the pieces, the look of awe consumed him…) "I just cannot get over this craftsmanship. It is so unique. I sure am glad I asked them to make these pieces. I cannot wait to see the rest of them."
I could not help but laugh, my brother was like a child who had his first sweet cake. I found it rather adorable for whatever reason. I sat there snickering at him for a few minutes till he turned and looked at me a little perturbed.
Kaida Endo: (Snickering to herself, she just could not help but to tease him some…) "You do not understand just how funny you look right now. All giddy and excited over a new style of weapon with a unique etched design. How could your sister not laugh at you?"
Tsubasa Endo: "You know, if you start getting all giddy about those new kimono's, I will enjoy laughing at you, you know."
Kaida Endo: "I know. I will be waiting for it as I just look at you without a care in the world. I will be too happy with my new outfits, like you are with your weapons. And the lords will just laugh at us both like they have been doing now."
Turning his head toward the vampire lords, Tsubasa had a major embarrassment wave hit him as he realized that his sister was right on the mark. Once again, he decided to just suck it up and turned his attention back toward the rest of the weapons that had been made. He was, after all, curious to see how they were all designed. He was like a child at a new year's or harvest celebration. I sure am going to miss those celebrations with our original home; I was more than sure my brother would agree. That is if he is not ogling over weaponry and architecture. After about ten minutes or so had passed, they finally packed up all weapons that he had ordered in the back end of the carriage. After which, they got back into the carriage and went down the street to the fabric store. Arriving at the fabric store, they got out and walked inside. All around the many reams of fabric with brilliant bright patterns lined the wall to the left. As more simplistic fabrics lined the right side. Kaida was in awe once again over the beautiful designs that were on the fabrics. She could not help but wonder how the hell they pulled them off.
Kaida Endo: "I just cannot get over how beautiful most of these fabrics are. And the designs, I have never seen such designs. It is hard to imagine that someone was able to put all this detail into the fabric."
Tsubasa Endo: "You know I am about to laugh at you right sister?"
Kaida Endo: "So laugh, I do not care if you do or not. I have not seen such designs before. I kind of enjoy it okay big brother."
Tsubasa Endo: (Shrugging his shoulders, he resigned as he had lost this round to his sister…) "Okay, okay, you already ruined it. I will just watch you enjoy yourself, or I will look at the fabrics in the men's side."
Kaida Endo: (Waving to him in a mocking goodbye…) "Okay then if you want. I have no issues with that."
About ten minutes of browsing through some of the new designs, the owner had finally came out from the back with a smile once he seen that the Vampire Lords were there. As he neared them, Kaida walked back over from the wall she had been browsing. Walking next to Botan, she lightly bowed to the fabric shop owner. Raising her head back up, she wrapped her arm around Botan's elbow.
Shop Owner: (Walking up, he lightly bowed to them…) "Hello there, Date, sir. How may I help you today?"
Botan Date: "Well sir, you sent a message to my estate letting me know that the kimonos that were ordered a while ago were ready. So, we are here to pick them up."
Shop Owner: "Oh, I got the order done, but totally forgot that it was for the young miss here. Do forgive my idiocy."
Kaida Endo: "That is alright sir. My brother is now currently browsing through your men's fabrics. I think he is wanting some new clothes himself."
Shop Owner: "Oh that is great. I will have one of my people go speak with him then. I will go and gather up your order now. Please wait here."
Botan Date: "Yes thank you very much sir."
Lightly bowing his head, he headed toward the back room behind the curtain. After a few moments, one of his salespeople came out and walked over to my brother who was still browsing. We watched as he helped him decide on some fabrics to use. My brother tended to like the plainer designs. Which was fine, he never was one for fancy stuff anyway. While he was getting help, the shop owner came out with an armload of new kimonos that had been made for me. They were all so beautiful, I could not help but reach out for one to feel the corner of it.
Shop Owner: "I do believe these are the kimonos that you ordered the last time you were here. Would the young miss like to put one on now or just have me pack them up?"
Kaida Endo: "Just go ahead and pack them up. I can wear one tomorrow. They really are quite the treat for me. I had never had such fancy kimonos before now."
Botan Date: "Do not worry. If you would like another fabric design in the future, I am more than sure he will make sure to have designs similar to this in stock for you if we ask him. Besides, I think your brother is enjoying himself as well."
Kaida Endo: (Looking over at her brother, she could not help but start laughing at the fact that he was just as intent on looking at fabrics like I was earlier…) "I am more than sure he is placing an order now."
Botan Date: "It is fine. Neither or you have had the pleasure of being able to do this on a whim before. It is just so much fun to watch. By the way sir, here is the payment for her set of kimonos. As we had agreed upon, two hundred fifty dollars' worth of silver shillings for ten top end kimonos."
Botan reached in his pocket taking out a money pouch, with his gloved hand poured the silver in his palm. Sliding each piece through his fingers, he slowly filled the shop owner's hand with the pieces of silver. When he had finished, the shop owner thanked him with a smile and headed toward the back. Placing the money away, he proceeded to place the kimonos in a rather impressive looking box. Around five minutes or so after that, my brother showed back up to the area where we were standing. After giving him a smirk, he just looked at me, a partial scowl on his face at my insistent snickering. About that time, the shop owner came back out after having placed the kimonos in a box. He handed the box to one of the vampire lords, he bowed in thanks as we all turned to leave out of the store. Placing the box in the back end of the carriage with her brother's weapons. The last stop was going to be checking the apothecary. Wanting to make sure all the medicines ordered had showed up. After finding out they were good and fully stocked, they got back into the carriage and headed back towards the main house. It was getting late after all, and they had now pushed past the normal time they would usually retreat from the sunlight. But being in buildings most of the day did give them a little bit of extra time.
