Chapter 23 - The True Vampire Bride Ch 5 Part 2

Scout: "Yes my lords. Allow me to show you on the map the section of your territory they think they own."

Botan Date: "Yes that is a safe thing to say, we will show them who owns this land."

Pulling out his map, he showed Botan, Dai, Haruko, Kano, and Tsubasa the area he had marked on the map. Telling them the exact hill pass they decided to claim for themselves that had at least three massive caves inset in them. The area used to be filled with bears and other wildlife, but that was most likely no longer the case. She sat quietly as all the details were given and a rough strategy being put into place.

Once they neared the area, the plan was to begin as follows: Kano would distract their underlings on the outskirts by using his ability to control the weather. He would make it storm in the area with large amounts of fog to help hide our progression. Once that was taken care of, Dai would take care of any that came close with the use of his bio kenosis. Haruko would be on standby in case we had to time loop. As for Botan and Tsubasa, they both wield elemental energies. So, they will be main attackers once inside. Looking to Kaida, they got a grin to their faces. Kaida could not help but wonder what it was they were grinning for at this point.

Kaida Endo: (With a minorly puzzled look to her face she approached Botan after getting out the carriage…) "What exactly are you all over here grinning for? Have you decided on basic entry strategy?"

Botan Date: "Well my queen, we are grinning cause we are all simply curious to know just how much power the queen can absorb at one time. Having you on the sideline with the clairvoyance your brother possess would be most useful. But then again, we would love to see you also wielding one of our powers as well."

Kaida Endo: "So, basically you are telling me that you guys have a bet of sorts just to see how powerful your queen can be then? Am I assuming correctly?"

The look of shock on all their faces said that they were busted. They in fact did want to see just how much power the queen could wield at one time. Putting on one of the biggest smirks she could, she just stared at them all with a look of irritation that clearly read "I will show you all, wait and see".

Botan Date: "Well sorry my queen, but it has been over almost a thousand years since I have been able to see a queen's true power. You really cannot blame me too much to want to find out what my queen can do."

Tsubasa Endo: "Keep flattering her too much and we will all be regretting it if she gets too pissed off."

Botan Date: "Oh relax Tsubasa, she will be able to vent all that anger on them with no problem. Then she will be fine. She might even enjoy turning them to ash."

Kaida Endo: "Now I know you are trying to flatter me. When we get close to their area, I will see how many different powers I can absorb from you all to help out in the endeavor. I will not simply watch while everyone else does the hunting."

Botan Date: "As you wish my queen. Everyone mount up, double check your gear and get ready to move out."

Climbing back inside the armored carriage, Kaida sat in the middle of Botan and Tsubasa. Staying in the middle seemed to be the best defense option. Reaching his hand out he tapped the side of the carriage to indicate they were ready to move out. Sticking his head just outside the carriage door he hollered at scouts to begin guiding them to the marked area.

Botan Date: "Alright, let us move out. Take us to the hill pass that contains the rouges."

Scout: "Yes sir! Everyone proceed this way."

With a loud crack of the whip, the carriage was under way as the scouts led them toward the rogue vampire lords. As they journeyed there, the discussed in finer detail some of the things they were needing to do. Noting one thing for sure, stop just before the pass and allow Kaida to absorb the other lord's skills. Kaida decided it was best to look at it as one big test to judge just how far her training had gotten in these past months. She could already tell that her presence alone was enough to start making the lords weary of her already. She smirked to herself at the mere thought. But also knew she had to keep herself under some kind of control. She was the one responsible for so much after all. Their destination was a little way off yet. Kaida fell asleep to the rocking motion of the carriage, leaning against Tsubasa. What else was she going to do to conserve as much energy as possible before trying a big move? All Tsubasa and the others could do was just and laugh that she had fallen asleep once again.

Tsubasa Endo: "I cannot believe she fell asleep again. I wonder if this is going to become a bad habit every time she is in a carriage of any kind."

Botan Date: "Do not worry too much about it. We are about to embark on a massive test of sorts for both your abilities. She will be pushed harder than any of us; so, it is fine if she sleeps until we get there."

Tsubasa Endo: "I suppose you are right. Her powers far exceed any of us and there is no telling just how much she is going to be able to handle. I have been curious to know what I can do as well if I am going to be honest."

Botan Date: "I could tell that you have been just as anxious to find out what you can do as well. You have been fidgeting in the seat more than any of us."

They continued their idle chit chat as they rode down the road to the area where the rogue vampires were hiding. The ride seemed to take a while, all that could be heard as they passed by some areas were the sounds of the townspeople working in the fields. Doubling most of the patrolling guards seemed to put most of the people in the fields at ease for now. The ride to the hill pass took roughly four hours. The amount of people brought made the journey a little bit slower considering they were in a metal carriage. They finally neared the area that was marked on the map, as planned, they stopped just outside the area. Rousing Kaida from her sleep, she stretched as she looked out the carriage. Slowing getting out one by one, they all stood on top of a small outcropping over-looking the designated pass. Kaida took a few deep breathes to steady herself as she mentally prepped herself for one of the most trying tests to date.

Shaking off her anxiety, she reached out to her brother and began the process of absorbing his specific techniques. With just a mere touch of her hands placed on his chest, she slowly began to absorb from him, the clairvoyance was like no other. Giving her clear visions of where the rouge vampires were hiding. It was as though she could control the ability far better than her brother without even trying. Grabbing up a quill pen and a piece of parchment, she began to slowly draw out a detailed map of the area they needed to go in. Within ten minutes, she left her trance like state and presented the five lords with a sketch of the area in greater detail than they could have hoped for. The only response was a stunned silence came from them all as they studied the map drawn by Kaida. As they studied the map, Kaida's eyes rolled back into her head as the vision her brother had described in the stone hall hit her in much greater detail. Taking up the quill pen once again with a separate parchment, she began to slowly sketch out the vined ring with inset stones. Each leaf containing a stone that was different. One for each lord, the only thing not given was which lord to which precious stone. Going so far as to even sketching out the main hall in the mansion with everyone wearing a matching ring. Botan saw that Kaida was preoccupied while they studied the map, coming toward her, he peered at the parchment she was currently sketching out.

Botan Date: "Why are you sketching this out my queen? Is it a compulsory thing now that you absorbed your brother's talent? I wonder if this will become a habit each time you do that?"

She just kept drawing as if in a fixed trance, the compulsion was to great not to.
