Riding in the carriage, Kaida stared out the window, watching the people in the fields as they rode by. The fences with the barriers firmly in place, she looked into the distance as it was clear. The only people were the guards that were patrolling the outskirts of the fields. She leaned back in the seat, placing her head against her brother as she started to doze off. Looking down at his sister, he turned to Botan and so many strange and unanswered questions kept going through his mind. Learning to deal with these new feelings was quite the challenge. As he was still new to all the sensations that a pure blood had to deal with. With his sister's softening breaths getting a little deeper, it was now clear that she had fallen into a deep sleep. He then turned his head to Botan.
Tsubasa Endo: "I am just so uncertain about so many things. I have been having a really hard time with the whole self-control issue. How in the hell do you guys get past that?"
Botan Date: "I have not gotten past that. It is just that I have had so much more time to learn to control it. With your sister possibly being the only pure blood female in this part of the country, it will be making it much harder on all of us due to that fact."
Tsubasa Endo: "The only pure blood female, huh? Wow that definitely puts what you said into play that much more. Why does fate have to be so damn cruel all the time?"
Botan Date: "I know it is not something you want to embrace easily, but our laws are this way due to the fact that there were never many females in the first place, it has always been this way. But thanks to the absence of a queen for so long now, whatever females there was around, are either in different areas that are too far away to be sensed by us, or they are dead. There is no other explanation to be found."
Tsubasa Endo: "So I see. So, it seems my fate is to be forced to join you all in marrying my own sister. I have got to find a way to fully accept this fact or it is going to drive me mad. Any suggestions on how to do this?"
Botan Date: "Well if you would like, I can put you under a slight hypnosis and basically try to give you the appropriate suggestions. It will help close that part of your mind to help you ignore the fact you grew up human."
Tsubasa Endo: "Well, I will try a bit harder, but if it keeps getting harder on me, I may take you up on that offer. It might be the only way to get me to quit focusing on it."
Botan Date: "Well let me know when you decide either way. I will do what I can to help you. Just let me know."
He just looked at Botan one last time with a dejected nod before turning his head toward the window of the carriage. The mansion coming into view now, looked so enormous, he could not help but think "will it ever look like just another building to me?", but that was only a small hope he wished would come to pass. For now, he had to focus on a way to get used to the old laws of vampires that were new to him. It was a good start to keep his mind from going to his sister all the time. Or so the faint hope he held tried to convince him so, most likely it would be in absolute vain. They finally pulled up to the front of the estate, rousing Kaida, Tsubasa nudged her awake. Getting up, she finally stepped out of the carriage as they walked inside the building. Half the walk, Kaida spent stretching as she had gotten some minor cramps from the way she fell asleep. The servants were there straight away with glasses in hand; handing each of them a glass as they passed by. Trailing behind them, servants packing in all the items that had been purchased that day. They headed straight for their rooms placing the items on each of their beds. Walking the rest of the way in, they all sat at the big dining room table and had another round poured into their glasses. They all sat and chatted for a few before turning in for the night. She walked up to the bed and seen the box her new kimonos were in and took them out one at a time, carefully placing them in the closet. Leaving one out to put on in the morning after her bath. Tsubasa was carefully started placing all the weapons around his room in a decorative fashion. When they were both finished putting their items away, they changed out into their night clothes. Going to bed, they crawled into their makeshift beds that were still on the floor. Neither had quite gotten to the point of wanting to try the beds just yet.
After about two hours of sleep, Tsubasa began to stir in his sleep as he unconsciously walked through the adjoining door towards his sister. This would end up being the first of many sleepwalking incidents that could not be stopped. The instinctual attraction was far worse than he or anyone else would even realize. It was not one of destruction or malice, it was the instinctual attraction of the fact that she was a pure blood female. The overwhelming urge to want to breed could not be suppressed even in his deepest sleep. His blood seemed to be calling to him, even though he was unaware. The attraction will not be stopped by anything, he unconsciously reached down as he picked up a lock of his sister's hair as he smelled it deeply. All while he was in an unconscious state of mind saying in a soft voice "I will make you mine, you wait and see. There is nothing that can stop me from having you, not even knowing you have to be shared with those men".
His sister stirred on the makeshift bed as she readjusted herself, rolling to her back, her chest lightly exposed from underneath her night clothes. Her belly wrap barely keeping her night robe closed. Taking his hand away quickly, he placed his hand to his chest as if a tightening grip had taken hold. He raised himself back up, as he slowly sleepwalked back to his own room, somehow even closing the adjoining door without a sound. Crawling back into his own bed, he continued sleeping as though he had never moved at all. Waking up, Kaida wearily sauntered over to the decanter that held the ice chilled blood taking a few small sips off of it. Even though she was not fully awake yet, she felt something was a bit off with her room. Lightly shrugging off the feeling, she chalked it up to nothing more than being half asleep for now. Maybe she would find out later, but not now. Now was the time for sleep, it had been a long day after all.
While sitting up late in his room, Botan was having a hard time dealing with the fact that he knew she would have to be shared with her own brother. He sat in his favorite chair just staring at his barely touched wine glass on the table next to him. He had already sensed that Tsubasa was having a hard time controlling himself and knew that even his suggestion to try and hypnotize him would end in complete failure. He is of the highest in their society, the prince after all, what made him think the suggestion of being hypnotized would even work. Even though they had just been awakened, they would be far more powerful. But it was a lie he told to Tsubasa as well as to himself and he knew it. Even though he had the age to back himself, the fact that the queen's family line was stronger still remained regardless of their young age. He cursed the fate and laws of vampires continuously but knew he could do nothing about any of it. The laws have always been this way. Knowing that she was most likely the only female vampire in their part of the country made it even harder on him.
He cursed the gods once more knowing that she was the only one who could set things right let alone be the only one to bring forth new pure bloods by birthing them. The only other thought that went through his mind of significance, was knowing that her family line will be thickened. The children of her siblings, especially the females would need to be brought here, at least one child from each family member. Brought up in the proper vampire society fashion so they are not surprised by any of the customs. This thought was enough to give him some kind of hope in the future to come. He was in hopes that the village chief would agree with him on it, though he struggled with the idea of how to hide that knowledge from Kaida. After all, it would not be hard for her to find anything out eventually. He decided it was best to keep these future plans to himself for now, after all, Kaida was still new herself and he did not want to overwhelm her till she had plenty of time to adjust.
