After we had finished, Botan Date asked that we all head to the main meeting hall. I knew in my gut that this was it, the final moments of being human. I walked with slight dread toward my future that was hitting me harder than I expected it would. So, we followed him to an inner room of the mansion along with the other three lords. I knew my decision was about to come in to play with these four. I only hoped they all stayed as refined as they seem if they are not chosen. They did make the comment about being selfish at one point. But was there a way for me to sense for sure, who I needed to pick? Well I guess I will find out will I not? After coming to stop on the upper layer of the room, the four then turned to me. And all at once, they told me to choose. I nodded, looking to my brother one last time for a much-needed boost of encouragement as I walked in front of each lord trying to sense anything, anything at all. I was not sure what feeling I was looking for, hopefully I would know it. Finally, coming in front of Botan Date, it was like a huge jolt of lightning hit me, and I was not sure what to make of it. I turned to my brother lightly nodding my head as a sign I was ready. I then looked back to the four and spoke.
Kaida Endo: (I looked at Botan with a hard resolve…) "I choose you, Botan Date. You will be the one to awaken me."
Botan Date: (With a slightly puzzled look on his face…) "Are you sure of your decision? You have to be sure?"
Kaida Endo: (Standing firmly in front of him, I gave a firm nod of my head…) "Yes, I am. I do not know how to explain the feeling I got just now. Am I the only one that has ever had an unexplained feeling?"
The other three turned their heads slightly as they knew what it was a sign of. I stood there tilting my head slightly wondering what their stares meant. So, I decided to ask. I would get nothing if I kept quiet.
Kaida Endo: "Excuse me, but why do you all look so strange in the face at my comment? Do you know what I meant by the feeling? Because only the gods know what I am referring to."
Botan Date: "It is a rarity that the feeling is brought up. Especially if it happens to be a mutual thing. I had the same feeling just now. Did you others have the same or not?"
The other three just shook their heads no, knowing what the mutual feeling was already. They had lost and did not even have to be told. Though they secretly knew it was not a complete loss. In time, that fact would make itself known. After all, they knew that Botan had not told them everything just yet. As for Kaida and Botan, the predestined connection already existed. Fate had once again stepped in the door holding it wide open. And I began to wonder, was fate always this much of a jerk? He then turned back to me with a soft smile.
Botan Date: "Well then, now that this portion is settled upon, shall we proceed with the awakening?
Kaida Endo: "Very well then. I guess I am as ready as I will ever be. Let us proceed."
I looked to my brother not knowing what to expect, he just softly smiled, holding my hand as Botan Date came closer gently placing his hand on my neck and moving my hair to the side. I was so nervous I lightly squeezed my brothers' hand.
Botan Date: "When I am finished, please be kind enough to take her room Tsubasa Endo, she will need to sleep while the awakening takes place. Then she can do the same for you in your own rooms."
Tsubasa Endo: "Sounds like a plan. Do not worry leave things to me when we are finished here. I will make sure she is taken care of properly."
He smiled softly at the two of us and proceeded to put me into a slightly hypnotic state. It was hard to describe, I was not scared, but it made it easier to handle what was to come. He bit down sinking his fangs in. It was a feeling I cannot put into words. I could feel my blood being pulled from the wound; it was an odd sensation to say the least. I could not even begin to describe the sensation. He then bit his own arm leaning my head back, placing it above my mouth. He squeezed in his blood till my mouth filled, and had me drink it, making me drink three more times till I had drunk the equivalent of roughly two large mugs. I then became quite sleepy as I felt parts of me start to jolt from the change. I soon passed out the rest of the way after realizing my brother had picked me up. With me softly jolting in my brother's arms, Botan Date just looked at us and softly smiled. Though he was shocked somewhat as to how calm Tsubasa Endo was staying through all he was witnessing.
Botan Date: "Now please take her to your guys room. Watch over your sister as she sleeps. Call out if it looks like there is a bit too much past the starting jolts you see her doing now. I am quite surprised at how calm you have been through all of this though."
Tsubasa Endo: "I was told at a younger age, before our parents died about our special family bloodline. I had a hard time believing it for years. But then you guys showed up and it was latent proof of what was said to me. Plus, there was the fact that the chief did not even deny anything. So yeah, how could I even hope to argue. Our families cursed fate will always be this way. Who am I to think I could change it in the least?"
Botan Endo: "I assure you; we will make sure those children will be sent over, that way, there will hopefully be a larger bloodline of descendants if it ever has to be done like this again. We will ensure the village remains hidden. The bloodline is far too important for everyone's futures."
He just looked at Botan Date with a firm nod, as a sign of resigning himself to his fate in this role. Though he still seemed to question Botan's motives, as though he had bigger plans in the works for the females of their family, but for now, he left it alone. He looked at his sister as she was carried to their rooms. Softly muttering an apology that was never ever his to give. It was just the cursed fate of their bloodline, and nothing could be done about it. Reaching their rooms, he placed her on the still make-shift bed on the floor as softly as he could. Then proceeded to sit beside her as he softly started stroking her hair in hopes of comforting his sister. Watching each painful jolt hit her body as the awakening process grew even more intense. After a few hours, Tsubasa had picked Kaida up and had her leaned into his body. He rocked her softly leaning against the wall, he held her tightly, gently rocking her after each and every painful looking jolt. He wondered how long she would be asleep through this process, realizing he had forgotten to ask. It did not matter anymore, for all he knew it probably varied between each person. After the second day of her being asleep, Botan Date came to the door and opened it. In his hand he carried a bottle of dark rouge liquid. He slowly walked up and keeled down eventually sitting on the floor near them both. He then looked at Tsubasa and asked how she seemed to be doing.
Botan Date: "How does she appear to be doing today?
Tsubasa Endo: "Well her jolts have slowed way down. By the way, how long will she stay asleep for? I had completely forgotten to ask."
Botan Date: "The last awakening I witnessed took roughly 48-50 hours. That is why I have brought this chilled bottle. She will experience her first hunger and need to have a mix of my blood and a donation of blood from you, while you are still human."
Tsubasa Endo: "Oh so that is why you had a sample of her taken before you bit her. It is for me is it not? Well at any rate, let me set her down, and we can use a new syringe to take some from me to add."
Botan Date just looked with a soft smile and total puzzlement on how he could just be so accepting of this new situation. As he pondered these things to himself, he readied the new syringe, drawing a full vile out from Tsubasa to add to the bottle Botan had brought with him. And just like his sister, the syringe was huge. It was now nearing the 48-hour mark, Tsubasa had sat on the floor once again holding Kaida in his arms. Botan had remained for the last few hours to bear witness. It was the first awakening he had seen in an exceptionally long time. Soon enough, like clockwork, right on the 49th hour Kaida's eyes opened as her first burst of thirst hit causing her fangs to show and her eyes glowing red. Botan then handed Tsubasa the bottle, now mixed with both of their blood, over to him and he proceeded to lightly pour it into her mouth. As the blood flowed in, her arching calmed down and her eyes, though glowing red, were no longer trying to roll back in her head. Gradually coming back around, she blinked a few times as to make sure where she was at. Taking the bottle in her own hands, she lifted it drinking down half of its contents, before realizing she was being stared at by both her brother and Botan. A flash of total embarrassment hit has she sat up the rest of the way from her brother's lap. She readjusted herself to sit on the floor a little better as she looked down. Tsubasa finally was able to readjust himself as she lightly put the bottle to her lips once more. She then looked up at them both seemingly relieved. It seemed as though for now, the awakening was a complete success.
