Chapter 14 - The True Vampire Bride Ch 3 Part 2

With him now awake, we both went and took a bath and changed into fresh clothing. It was the longest five days we had ever gone through. But in the end, everything turned out good. Botan and the others were quite pleased with our transformation process being quite smooth. Now all that remained was for us to start coming up with a solid plan to round up the lessors and the pure bloods that have lost their way. But first, we would have to undergo some minor training to make sure we could control our basic skills, the skills all vampires shared at the very least. As well as study up on vampire laws, we knew nothing after all on that front.

Others are specified as unique talents coming to pass between each person. And so, our new lives as Pure Bloods began in Botan's mansion. We would soon be introduced to the citizens of Oshu in due time. That alone made it kind of exciting. Especially since all we ever knew was the village hidden in the mountains. And as promised, a few days later, Botan had sent the first load of children to our small mountain village. He also sent up extra food and several bags of seeds that could be grown. He even sent several loads of bamboo logs to be used to make more shelter for the additional people. With at least thirty additional people, there should be a long line of our lineage to come. The new blood in the village would guarantee that there would be a thickening of the bloodlines for all the families there. And there would be more sent in the future months to come. That alone made me happy, especially knowing I would forever look eighteen years old now. I did not even know if a pure blood line could have a family, but I had plenty of time to learn all about it. It would mean a lot to us both if it were possible. Maybe Botan knew the answer and would tell us one day.

We were called to the dining hall a few days later by Botan. Giving us the few extra days to get a preliminary adjustment in was rather nice of him to do. I suppose he could tell that we were anxious about the whole ordeal. He had started making sure that my place was always next to him as well as my brothers next to me. We had our morning meal and began to discuss some of the basic training methods he would be teaching us. Each of the Vampire lords had their own unique skill sets outside the ones we all shared. Plus, I took the opportunity to let them know that me and my brother had been trained in various forms of combat. I looked at Botan and let him know what I was thinking.

Kaida Endo: (Looking at everyone with a sharp look in my eyes…) "I think it would be prudent for everyone to describe what their skills are so we can come up with a training regimen to help me and my brother get more adjusted to the way things need to be done. Do you have any objections to my suggestion?"

Botan Date: "No objections. Sounds reasonable to me, what say the rest of you."

Dai Haku: "None. Very reasonable."

Haruko Ikeda: "No objections here."

Kano Nishio: "Nope. I do not see why not."

Tsubasa Endo: (Shrugging his shoulders slightly, she sighed softly as he spoke…) "Do not see why there would be a problem. After all, neither of us know how to use them."

Kaida Endo: "Well then, with everyone agreeing, it should go rather smoothly then."

All Kaida could do was sit there and giggle at the situation. After all, her brother had an incredibly good point. And so, more detailed introductions starting with descriptions and demonstrations of what each could do were underway. I was so excited to see what could be done. The first to show a demo would of course be Botan Date. I was so interested to see what each of their unique abilities is going to be like. Would they be skilled with various elements, telepathy, form changes, the list of possible things they could do seemed it would be almost endless? I then wondered what my own would be like. After all, I am the queen. Mine should surpass any of theirs by leaps and bounds, right? At least that how I kind of figured it would go. That prospect would be so damn interesting to find out eventually.

Botan decided it was a good idea to start off with the abilities that all vampires share. He began with a demonstration of a vampires unmatched strength. Kaida and Tsubasa watched in fascination as he effortlessly reformed a large chain into straight lines with almost no effort. He then demonstrated his ability to shape-shift. The two watched as we went from human form to several bats, then changing into a canine form. Almost resembling that of a wolf, but not quite. It was almost demonic looking; a hell hound would be a more proper word for the look. The final shared demonstration came in the form of a type of telepathy. Meaning the ability to read other people's thoughts. The degree in which one's thoughts could be read came in varying strengths. Depending on how long one had lived, depended on how much could be read. With Botan being almost 1500 years old or more, his telepathy was pretty high up there. I could only hope my skills would be high end for starters seeing how I am the queen. I just sat there; mouth agape as he showed each thing in turn.

Kaida Endo: (Mouth agape, she looked on with absolute wonder…) "I am just in awe at all the things you are doing. Even though I see it with my own eyes, it is just too amazing. I just do not know what to say about all this."

Tsubasa Endo: (Eyes showing astonishment as his mouth hung open as well…) "No kidding. When you asked me if I could hear you without your mouth moving, I almost jumped out of my skin. Will we really be able to do that as well?"

Botan Date: (Shrugging his shoulders as if it were an obvious thing…) "Of course. The older you get the stronger the powers become. But everyone one of us share those three main things. Then there are the specialized abilities that only that individual has. Mine is Elemental kinesis. I have the ability to manipulate the five elements."

Kaida Endo: (Staring with his eyes wide, he almost yelled all his words…) "What!!! You can control the elements. But five, what is the hell is the fifth? I know there are the four but five?"

Botan Date: "The fifth is being able to control spirits. That is the fifth."

Kaida Endo: "I see. I did not think the spirit world was something that could be controlled. Guess I was wrong."

Botan Date: "As the queen, your powers will far surpass my own in no time. You, as queen, have the ability to absorb, transfer, and purely manipulate any and all power types. That is, and always has been the queen's ultimate ability. No others, not even your brother will have that."

Tsubasa Endo: "Geeze, I sure hope I do not end up with something simple. Would make me feel week in a way."

Botan looked at Tsubasa and snickered some as though he had a little secret to tell him. He just smiled big as he looked back to Tsubasa with a smile, almost completely amused to an extent. My it had been a while since he last spoke to pure bloods that had not lost themselves. I mean there were the ones that shared the mansion with him, but that was different.

Botan Date: "Well I guess I can understand where you would be coming from on that. It is a universal thing when it comes to feeling less than another when it comes to a guy. But you have nothing to fear in that respect Tsubasa. Your sister awakened you, therefore, you will most likely share almost all the things she will eventually be able to do."

Tsubasa Endo: "I certainly hope so. I have to be able to support her properly."

Botan Date: "Do not worry about that. You will soon find out how the dynamic works. I will say this to you both now, so you are not surprised by it later. If we cannot find another pure blood female for you to marry, Tsubasa, our law is that, even if you are her brother, you will have to join me in marrying Kaida. It is the only way to ensure the overall power needed to bring the lessors to heel."

Looking at Botan with shock on their faces, the two then looked to the other lords for confirmation on what he just said. Seeing them all shake their heads in agreement, some even had smirks on their faces, Kaida and Tsubasa could not even argue the point. They merely sat their kind of speechless as they continued to listen carefully as Botan explained how the marriage and bloodline system worked. They just stared silently absorbing all the information, feeling a little unnerved, but there was nothing they could do about it. If that is how vampire society worked, no matter how wrong it seemed to them, they would have to figure out how to get past the thought and just deal with it. In human society, siblings married their first and up to third cousins trying to keep the wealth or status of a family line. Or just as a business venture couples would marry to build their wealth.
