Kaida Endo: "I hope I am not being to rude, but do you Vampire lords consume anything other than blood? We are catching fish was curious about it. You are the first Pure bloods vampires we have met."
He lightly chuckled at me with a warm expression, which threw me off slightly. I tilted my head to the side slightly as I was unsure of how to take the laughter. I did not know if he found it amusing or insulting. All I could do was wait and see what he had to say to me. I only hoped once again that he was not laughing at me. A flush of embarrassment hit me as I looked down. He then turned to me.
Botan Date: "We do not eat normal human food, nor could we if we wanted to, it is poisonous to our kind. You will soon learn this fact our queen to be."
Kaida Endo: "So in other words, soon enough, me and my brother will never ever be able to enjoy food as it is now again. I am so sad at that thought because there are so many delicious foods out there. Well at least it will give me time to get used to the idea of it all. A few days is better than no days I suppose. Though I must say, currently it is not a pleasant thought to have at the present."
Botan Date: "I completely understand the hesitation, I have seen it many times with the lessors that have been forcibly turned by the ones that have lost their way. Trying so hard to hold onto themselves, they try to eat what they used to not realizing that it is going to kill them now. Only a small few have been lucky enough to live past it, but they are completely gone due to the poisonous effect."
Kaida Endo: "Man that is awful. I guess it will be up to me to make sure no more turn into lessors. That will save them from such a horrible death. But first, we will have to focus on fixing the main problem."
Botan Date: "The main problem comes after we make sure you two have awakened properly. You will then choose one of us to bite you, then you in turn, will awaken your brother, only you can do that for him. His awakening will be essential support for you."
Kaida Endo: "I...I... have to choose one of you to bite me? That is really the only way to awaken me. Are you absolutely sure about that?"
He lightly chuckled at me again seeing how my nerves were getting the better of me. He softly smiled at me bringing his hand up to my cheek, my heart skipped several beats. At this point I was not sure if it was from fear or something else. I lightly lifted my face up to see his, but his smile did not change. Was he trying to reassure me in his own way? I was not quite sure on him just yet. Only the next few days of the journey would hopefully be able to tell me.
Botan Date: "Do not worry so much for now and get some rest. Just think about which of us you are going to choose to awaken you. Please inform your brother of the things we discussed just now. And do not worry, your brother will not be alone either in all this that I assure you. We will make sure of that."
Puzzled by his words, I simply nodded to him, lightly bowed, and turned toward the direction of our campsite. Pondering all the things he told me along the way. What exactly did he mean by "your brother will not be alone either", I was completely baffled? As though it were a riddle that needed solving. One of the few questions in my mind was "Will I end up having to marry my own brother as well as one or all of the vampire lords? Are there laws really so different?" I had no answers and I still was not sure if I would ever get a straight answer out of them either at this point. All I could do is try and organize my thoughts to convey to my brother everything we spoke of. After a few minutes, I beckoned my brother with my hand to sit near me. He came over and sat next to me on the log as I poked at the fire with a long stick, with a heavy sigh, I then proceeded to tell him everything I had discussed with Botan Date.
Kaida Endo: "Well this is what he told me so far. Apparently, I have to choose one of them to awaken me, then I HAVE to be the one to awaken you brother. I am certain he will explain further when the time comes. I just hope I'll be able to do it."
Tsubasa Endo: "Not to worry. I always knew of this possible outcome. I am so sorry I never told you, but it just took for granted the idea that we would always be safe. Now look how our fates turned out."
Kaida Endo: "Yeah, life sure has its way of messing with you like that does it not? But will I be able to bite you brother? I do not know myself."
Tsubasa Endo: "Do not worry about that, when the time comes, I will be ready. We cannot back down now, we were born with this cursed destiny, and we will eventually die with it, now we must at long last embrace it. No matter what it is."
Kaida Endo: "Your right. We must face it head on brother. Just promise you will always be there for me? The description of the queen I was given, it seems I have got my work cut out for me. There is no way in hell I could ever do it alone."
Lightly squeezing my hand. He gave me a soft smile. As was his way of making promises. We lightly leaned on each other as the weight of our futures was making itself more than well known. Our shoulders seemed to feel so heavy at the mere thought of what lies ahead of us. After a few more moments, we called it a night and set out to sleep. Though we were finding it hard to sleep in the light of day some. We sighed softly realizing it was only around six or seven in the evening. Boy this switch up was going to take quite some time to get used to. We laughed to ourselves at the simultaneous thought. Somehow managing to get some sleep, we were rousted at around three in the morning. I am guessing they want to help us get used to the new sleep schedule. It did only make sense after all.
