"True," I muttered "it's going to be a bloodbath in order to find out which group it is. Whoever they were, they would most likely be given access to the best equipment than sent out." Shaking my head.
"Me thinketh it should not be us, I don't wanna face big Voidborn or see anyone die." Grusk said fiddling with a rock in his hand, there was a crunch as he broke it by accident. That it was eerily silent, only the soft melody of the restrained wind could be heard.
After a while of this silence there was a loud sloshing of water, indicating that someone was making their leave from the spring. Since I was already cleaned up I decided to make my leave after some time not liking this silence. I dried myself up and slipped into a clean set of clothing, then I pushed the hefty curtain aside and walked out.
As I made my way out of the underground spring, I stumbled onto Star who I didn't see as she was short for someone her age. She yelped surprised as I ended up walking into her back, stumbling and turning around to look at me.
"Star! I'm sorry I didn't see you there, I didn't mean to do that" I told her taking a step back as I was worried for her.
She shook her head smiling at me "It's alright, I have gotten used to that and I'm sure you didn't mean to do so. It's just hard to see me since I'm so small." She said ruffling her wings and coiling her tail around her leg so I won't step on it. She continued her walk up after doing so.
"Well… yeah but I'm sure you will grow taller eventually, you just have to give it some time." I told her as I walked alongside her and matched her pace. "Besides, you should be happy since you have your smarts, skills and body"
"Heh, thanks and I do hope I can get taller, I don't like being this short and have everyone walk over me" she said as she stretched her arms and her ears flicked upwards as she does so.
With no give notice, I held her by the waist and lifted her up before setting her on my shoulders before I went back to my normal walking pace. She squeaks, blushing as I lifted her up and placed her on my shoulders.
"Wh-what are you doing?" As she asked stuttering and blushing as she wrapped her legs around my chest and placed her talons on top of my head "I-I can match your pace, there's no need for this."
"I know, I just didn't want to force you to so I thought this would be easier" I told her as this way more progress was made as well "you are pretty light as well so why not?"
"Next time tell me first" she muttered hunching her back and letting her tail
sway freely
"That where's the fun in that, after all I love the way you react it is just adorable. Besides you also get to be taller" I explained it to her with a sly smile gazing up at her as she looked forward to the exit.
She huffed giving up on whatever she was going to say, soon after we emerged from the tunnel. I set her down and followed her to her room/workshop where she spends the majority of her time tinkering with stuff. On the way there, she picked up a book about mechanical instruments and constructs.
Her room's door was just a regular door with her name over it, but above the door there was a black dream catcher with some of her scales interwoven with it. It swayed softly as the breeze, performing a small dance to those who cared to look. She placed her talon on the door and pushed it open, it swung aside silently revealing what it was guarding.
