I turned through the hallway into the main room, it seems like Nimbus and Shadow was still making the food so I made my way back to Star's room. I walked back down the hallway and to her room pushing the door open and walking in."The food is still being done in progress" I told her as I closed the door behind me, I walked over to her bed and sat down next to her.
She scooted aside to make space her tail swaying in accordance to the stale wind in her room. Once I sat down she laid her head on my laps with her eyes closed purring softly as she curled up. I smiled and stroked my fingers through her long, silky, black hair. As daylight slipped away the room grew dimmer without a proper light source. She chose then to open her eyes and look over to me, her red eyes casting a soft red glow over her face.
Noticing the dimming light she got up and slid off the bed, she took down a lamp and summoned the fire within her. Her throat gives off a soft orange glow before she blows a small plume into the lamp to ignite it. She swung the lamps hatch shut and hung it back up before jumping off the small staircase. She lands on all fours and gets up the fire casting a warm glow over the room lighting up even more details.
In a corner of the room there was a magic staff leaning against the wall hovering between a circle of winding wood was a rune. It was the draconic rune of darkness and fire, the elements she has control over as a spell caster. She sat next to me again and rested her head against my arm purring softly hugging my hand as she did so. I pet her head gently ruffling her straight black hair. The silence was deafening even though there was the sound of the crackling fire and my heartbeat.
We stayed in this position as we waited for the call of food, the base was an old, rundown and abandoned building 4 stories tall. We made repairs to it and fortified its crumbling structure into our home, which took 2 and a half years to fully complete it. After waiting for four more minutes a bell rang signifying the completion of the meal.
We got off the bed and made our way out to the main hall, Star tugged on my sleeve "How long were we in my room? It felt like it was less than half an hour but I'm pretty sure it took longer than that to prepare the food."
"I don't know how to answer that question" I told her truthfully, "it could be that they took a short time to cook as well but I doubt that's the case."
Along the way there we met up with Sora exiting from our shared room "Is it just me or did it feel like Nimbus and Shadow completed the meal in less than half an hour?" She queried looking at the two of us.
"It isn't just you, I doubt they could complete a meal so fast unless they went out and bought a meal." I assured her as the three of us continued down the path towards the main hall.
