Chapter 19 - Chapter 1 [Hope Anew] (Page 13)

"I wish the same as well, but till that day arrives it just has to be the two of us chatting." I told him "You are always so impatient, why?"

"Why?" He scoffed "it's because I was born this way, I really don't know how else to answer your question. By the way, from what you said about your mother… does that mean the prophecy of the Rising Phoenix is now in effect?" He muttered glancing at the ceiling dreaming of his own fantasies.

"I would would assume so but we won't know if its us or another group, I mean don't get me wrong it would be awesome if it was us. Yet it says no matter what two of us would die, and I don't want that to happen." I muttered scooping up the water in my palms.

"That would mean the guard will be coming here to see who the Phoenix Gem

resonates with right?" Nimbus asked through the thin wooden wall her green eyes gazing through a gap in the planks.

Shadow hissed in both surprise and annoyance "Yes it does, and would you stop doing that we don't appreciate it! How long have you been listening to us talk?"

"Hmm… when you scoffed at a question River asked" she said simply before

taking her gaze off us and back to the female side.

Shadow groans in annoyance as he leans back against the rocky wall of the spring. Just then Grusk chooses to lumber into the spring, wanding into the spring, the water parting around his hulking frame "Wad I miss?" He rumbled sitting down and scratching his head.

"Oh, it's nothing much you just missed a talk about death, doom and prophecies" Shadow said casually "What do you think of the prophecy of the Rising Phoenix?" He asked Grusk, drawing circles in the water tilting his head to one side.

"Nothing much, me just don't wanna die or fall to death in dark place" he said looking at Shadow, River than his surroundings. In the soft glow his tusks seemed to become more deadly and sharp, his breath escaping in a heated mist.

Shadow placed his head against the wall to overhear on what the girls were talking about. This time he placed his ear onto the wooden plank instead of a gap. The last time he did that well… it didn't end very well for him and his ear. He raised up a finger for silence on his actions, he would most likely tell us what he heard but in a low voice so the girls can't hear and kill him.

He remained there for around a minute or two before leaning in towards us, a mischievous grin plastered over his face. "Guess what I heard?~" he said in a sing-song tone of voice cocking an eyebrow at us.

I rolled my eyes at him "What?" I asked him as Grusk leans in to get a first hand hold on the information.

"Well… most of the talk was their own and what were their experience when training. I also overheard something I wished I have never heard but… they also seemed concerned about the prophecy. I admit everyone would at this rate, it is only a matter of time till the guards fill up the place searching for the prophesied group."
