"We don't usually have new members come back here, but my daughter was impressed with your abilities. We need someone like you."
The young receptionist had asked me to come to the back, where I met her father. He is the current leader of this branch of the kingdoms guilds. Rix Barrow, an aged man, but he still knew how to sit there, proud as can be.
"So? I just scared off some idiots. Also..."
I took off my glasses, allowing my ears to point back out.
"I'm a Dark Elf. Do you really want to get all buddy buddy with me?"
There was a moment of shock on both of their faces, but they calmed down quickly.
"We harbor no ill will towards those of other races. We don't even own any slaves, just a couple of dogs. I do understand your desire to hide from others though. I'll do what. I can to keep it hidden."
"If you're so willing to compromise, Soft Wind, two girls are working there now. Both are elven women, and both are incredibly beautiful. Protect them, and we have a deal."
"Easy. Now, will you hear us out? The reason we need you..."
I stared as Rix spoke. Apparently, there is a cave nearby that's become so horribly overrun with monsters, they need someone to help thin them out. The creatures inside range from undead to insects, and they can't even reach the end. Sounds pretty crazy.
He continued, explaining what these 'dungeons' could do. It was exactly like a video game, to be honest. The immense culmination of dark magics, along with a powerful creature deep inside the dungeon, allowed the continuous spawning of creatures inside. Thus, they needed help. Badly.
"Syrus, this may not be something you can handle. They may be giving you help, but can you really do something like this?"
'Task Five:

Reward: 30000 credits, System Update'
Lilly... we don't have a choice.
"Looks like I can't say no anymore. When do I start?"
