"So Master, why did you so easily agree to have us work here for her?"
We had spent the night at Becka's inn, Soft Wind, before I was to go to the guild and start working myself. Yumi and Nera were both keeping me from leaving the building, while Becka was watching.
"Heh... if you two are working here, in this inn and tavern, we can get information on Dark Lords. You both know I have to stop the ones that are doing wrong. It's the entire reason I'm even here."
My answer seemed to calm them down. They no longer looked worried or frantic about me leaving them.
"I'll leave an inner fire inside you both. I'll return if I feel even the slightest danger. Now, how do you want me to put it in?"
My middle and index fingers began to glow softly as an excited Nera bounced up to me. She is very much like a rabbit... which many snakes actually eat. Holy shit.
Before I could even do anything, she bounced into a soft, but warm kiss.
"N-Nera, I hadn't even applied it to my lips yet!"
She fell back onto the flats of her feet as her face turned scarlet. So cute. At least she is showing what she wants, even if sometimes it's still awkward.
I slid my fingers over her lips, giving her a small kiss on her forehead.
"I'll give you more when I come home."
"Home?"
Both Yumi and Nera asked me this as I smiled at them.
"You two. You're my home."
They both got quiet, Yumi getting closer. She grabbed my clothes, a smile was forming that she desperately tried to hide.
"Just this time. Do the same to me. It'll be a good luck charm, so you better come back!"
Fear was in her eyes. She was truly terrified of being abandoned. With a simple gesture, my lips ignited as I pulled her close. A simple kiss, and I could feel her legs nearly give way.
Leaning against Nera, Yumi was blushing rather violently herself.
"Remember what I said."
Without even looking, I could feel that Becka just flinched. Half a step out the door, I looked back. One more question on my mind.
"Why did the people call you two Dark Lords?"
Nera and Yumi smiled at me. Are they?
"Master, we aren't Dark Lords. We are 'monsters' with magical abilities."
I like how Nera quoted monster. These girls were far from it.
"People like you, a race not seen as a monster, are the ones capable of being a Dark Lord. The only requirement, magic."
"Huh, good to know."
As I left, a small question came from the back.
"Xero really loves you girls, doesn't he?"

'Credits: 6000'
I slid the pair of glasses I bought from the store onto my face, touching my ears lightly as I felt them curve instead of point back. A simple pair of glasses to change ones ear shape. Stupid... I also bought a small dagger. Not the best weapon, but it was cheap and necessary in case I need to hide my magic.
Entering the guild hall, I could easily sense the tense atmosphere inside. Was someone about to fight?
"You damn broad! I brought ya the damned horns! Give me the coins!"
A rather skinny, ugly freak of a man was shouting at a petite lady behind the counter. She seemed almost on the verge of tears. Probably not a lot of his kind here.
A moment later, a couple more guys joined him. They glared the poor girl into a corner as she tried to do her job.
"You b-brought the wrong horns!"
Her voice was little more than a squeak. I sighed inwardly as I started to make my way over to them, being stopped by a large hand from a nearby spectator.
"Don't get involved kid. You're not enough for men like that. Lemme do this."
Shoving his hand aside, I walked closer, tapping the leaders shoulder.
"Huh? Ya wanna die bastard? Lemme get my coins, then I'll show ya why ya don't touch me!"
Fuck it.
One hand grabbed the back of his neck, the other wrenched his arm behind his back. Slamming him against the desk, I whipped up one leg. His boys went down in an instant.
"Apologize, leave and then I'll think about not breaking this arm the next time I see you."
The man dragged his boys out, apologizing profusely to the receptionist. Scratching my head, I looked her way and bowed slightly.
"I hope they didn't scare you too much, Miss."
The girl nodded slightly, backing away from the counter. Did I mess up?
Looking around, I seemed to have a small group of people congratulating me on booting out those imbeciles.
