Chapter 9 - How to become a chad

"Shall we begin?" Golden eyes appeared from the smoke and were reflected on the mirror back into Joaquin's own. He tried to move but he was stoned in place. "So?" The smoke asked.

"What, are you here to train me?"

"You knew? I thought you were… Aha! Ha ha ha, you were just guessing weren't you?"

"Maybe."

"Are you trying to anger me?"

"Are you here to train me or not?" Joaquin said his words slow and deep making sure each word was clear. Although he wasn't sure about what was going on, he had a strong and good feeling about what was happening.

"Okay, I stayed up all night thinking about this. If you already had power all I had to do was make sure to help you awaken a binary branch. That way you'll have more than two ways to use your ability unlike the norm."

"So what were you thinking?"

"A weapon!" The smoke said with a little laughter behind his words that was quickly swallowed.

A weapon?" Joaquin's facial expression suddenly got coloured with confusion.

"Yes, the most powerful weapon known to man that even the great God himself uses. A weapon so powerful countries can put out orders for its destruction. A weapon that can't stab or punch holes into man's skin, but instead it destroys his spirit in order to rebuild it." The smoke laughed and it got louder, louder and louder until Joaquin's ears started to ring.

"So you got me a book?" Joaquin's face went blank again.

"OF COURSE NOT YOU FOOL. I GOT YOU A B…" His voice died and his eyes opened, the smoke looked at Joaquin and its mouth dropped open. He looked at the mirror and back at Joaquin at least three times. "Ho… How did you know that?"

"So it was a book?" Joaquin sighed.

"WAIT DOES THAT MEAN YOU MADE ANOTHER GUESS?"

"Your screaming is getting on my nerves. You'll attract the whole school to this place at this rate."

"Boy, only you can feel my presence and hear my voice. Other than that it would take at least someone as strong as a King to pick up at least tiny scent of my presence." The smoke flew back to spread his arms and proclaim his majesty.

"Well that takes care of one plot point." Joaquin shrugged.

"What?"

"What?"

"kgm, kgm.

"THE BOOK!" Said the smoke as it raised above its head a colourless book, the book slowly turned into a golden colour and some words wrote themselves on it. Before Joaquin could read it disappeared and reappeared in the basin. Again, it was colourless.

When he brought his hand near it, the book started smoking up as Joaquin's hand got near it. At first he stopped mid-air and thought of giving up, 'this might suck my soul in and use it as a sacrifice for the monster. This might be the end of me, but then again, was I ever I?' He looked into the smoke's eyes through the mirror.

It shrugged and pouted.

'I am sorry.' He grabbed the book. A whirlwind accompanied with some lightning immediately came out of nowhere. Joaquin cringed and tried to let it go but it now had a grip on him. The smoke man grinned and his eyes glowed as his body became one with the storm.

Joaquin wanted to curse him but his mouth was sealed shut by the pain. The storm got even more violent and the smoke monster finally proclaimed with a loud voice. "It is done!"

Joaquin at last was able to open his mouth and take huge breaths at a time, his tie was down and his shirt unbuttoned. The blazer had moved a few inches below his shoulders and lastly his hair still looked fine because he had dreadlocks and fade on the sides of his head.

He looked himself in the mirror, 'what if I had glasses on?' He thought as he almost let out a smirk. But there was a huge mud stain on the mirror that ultimately robbed his attention.

The smoke man had a body, but it disappeared as soon as Joaquin fixed his eyes on to it. Suddenly his eyes started to glow with gold. "Open it." He heard a voice.

'I heard a voice, as clear as the summer skies and it came from within me.'

"Bloody bastard did you just relocate into my body?"

A loud laugh erupted and Joaquin tried to follow it but he got nothing. 'It really did come from with me.'

"Well. Are you going to open it or not?"

"I swear I'll kill you one day."

"Sure you will." It giggled. "NOW OPEN THE DAMN THING!"

"Ouch!" Joaquin raised the book up to his face and he sighed. "Ghost man, can you come out of here real quick."

"Why?"

"It won't open."

"Are you sure? You didn't even try, I said it won't open. Che! I knew this was a scam" He dropped the book and fixed up his tie and shirt.

"What do you mean by a scam boy? This is the greatest book known to mankind." The smoke continued screaming, but Joaquin just tuned it out and left the bathroom.

"Wait, I'll come out and see the book." It did as it said and Joaquin watched from the door as it once again took its smoke form and examined the book. Seconds later it came in front of him and held the book forward. "As this book's contracted you're the only one who can turn it for the first time, I want to see you try it again. You must be doing something wrong."

Joaquin took the book, "come here." The smoke got closer. "Now read with me."

"Why?"

"Just do it."

Joaquin made sure that the smoke man was able to see the cover and so he cleared his throat and said go.

"HOW TO BECOME A PERVERT!"

"I don't anything wrong with…"

"ARE YOU A FUCKING IDIOT?" Joaquin brought the book crashing down on the ghost which to his surprise connected. He grinned and continued to bombard the ghost until it disappeared. The warning bell howled and Joaquin again fixed his uniform and left for school.

'What is the meaning of that book, I thought you were going to give me a grimoire or something?' Joaquin said in his mind hoping, or rather knowing that the smoke ghost will hear him.

[It is. Honestly I'm surprised that it is titled that way, every book is created to from the fates of their users, in rare occasions they are developed from the master's inner desires. The abilities the book grants from then on are all necessary in achieving the user's desire. With that being said.] It paused to clear its throat. [Are you by any chance, a closet pervert?]

Joaquin manifested as a spirit in his head and looked down on the ghost's body and said with a bone-chilling voice. "I will kill you once more."

The monster nervously moved back chuckling, [it must be a mistake then because I've been watching you for weeks now and apart from blowing things that aren't yours I haven't seen you do anything notable. I don't even think that you had a goal before me.]

'Isn't becoming strong a goal?'

[If you ask me I think that it's just lazy writing.]

'What?'

[What?]
