"MASTER!!!" She screamed and jumped on him with a huge hug.
Joaquin tried to force himself out but the more he struggled the tighter her hands got. He could do nothing but let her soft body probably squish him to death.
"Master, Ains is glad that you're okay. Ains was worried..." She heard Joaquin left out desperate and dry coughs and freaked out letting him go immediately. "Ains is so, so sorry Master." She bowed continuously by the bed.
Joaquin was fuming and his golden-red eyes looked as if they were going to pop out of their sockets any minute. But then again, once he was able to get a clear look at Ains he realized that he wasn't infuriated at all. Something about the look in her eyes was comforting and not at all threatening or annoying.
"Who are you and why are you calling me master?" Joaquin said as he rubbed his sore neck.
Ains's eyes lit up. "Because you're a master magician and Ains wants to learn magic." She folded her fists and leaned in closer to Joaquin, their faces almost touching.
"I don't know Weider, the fact that I understood you or the fact that you want to learn how to pull a rabbit out of a hat." Joaquin placed his hand around her face and pushed her away as he sighed.
"Yay! Master truly is a master!" She jumped up started twirling around the room, the other patients shifted aside their curtains to check out what the commission was about.
Joaquin finally got enraged by her joyous chorus, he turned around quickly, grabbed her hand, and pulled her down on to the bed. Ains raised her head to try and gather her thoughts and Joaquin grabbed her by her ear and pulled her closer to him.
Before he could even say anything a nurse opened his curtain with the intention to rebuke them. But as soon as she saw Ains on top of Joaquin she just blushed apologized and backed away quickly.
Joaquin's eyes grew wider and glared down into Ains's.
"Master?" She called with a curious look on her face.
Ultimately Joaquin was unable to yell at her let alone smack her. He sighed and tossed her aside, he was currently still in a white t-shirt, grey school pants, and some black socks. Beside him was his white shirt and black blazer with golden stripes around the wrists and collar. He put them on along with his shoes after getting off the bed.
Apart from the journal and the identity tablet, Joaquin didn't have anything else on him so he left. Ains of course followed behind curiously, she wanted to say something. And she had many questions to ask but she decided to hold back and just watch what the master magician was going to do next.
Joaquin headed straight to class trying to completely ignore Ains's presence, so long as she didn't do or say anything, she was fine. Once Joaquin and Ains walked into class everyone looked at them.
Joaquin was practically used to their gazes so he walked straight through them. As for Ains as soon as she saw so many people staring at her she paused at the entrance.
Since there was a little bit of silence in the air for a while, one brave soul stood up and proclaimed his existence. "NEWCOMER!" He pointed furiously at Ains. "My name is Lucient Ken, from now on you will refer to me as Mr. Super handsome mega strong Giga scholar."
"I'm pretty sure it was shorter last time." The guy sitting next to Ken said.
"Ignore him." Ken smacked him. "How may we address you."
"Her name is Ainsworth Melodia O. Rosehearts, from now on she will be your classmate unless she wants to move to class S.," Mr. Smoke said got into the classroom through the air vent. After completely putting his body together on his chair, he faced Ains. "What would your choice..."
"Can Ains sit next to the Master Magician?" She joyously said as she pointed to Joaquin.
Startled, the whole class immediately turned to Joaquin but he glared back and everybody faced the front again.
Mr. Smoke sighed and pointed at the guy sitting next to Joaquin, "go find somewhere else to sit, Miss Rosehearts will be taking that seat."
The boy didn't hesitate and made way for Ains. The shock remained with the class until school ended when Joaquin was finally able to break free from the cold glances of his classmates.
After hours on top of hours, Ains and Joaquin were sitting alone in an empty class. None of them had said anything to the other, Joaquin thought that if he went back to his dorm she will follow.
Ains was unlike anybody Joaquin had ever seen so he didn't mind staring at her for this long. It gave him a chance to study the puppy of a person sitting in front of him.
[Weird isn't she?]
'Very weird, are you telling me that she is the same person who knocked you out?'
[Haha! She knocked you out, in fact, the impact would've killed you if I hadn't used my intervention.]
'You are just looking for something to stroke your ego with. Hasn't it been established that I can resurrect myself after death?'
[Well yes but actually no.]
'What does that even mean?'
[It means you'll stay dead on your third death.]
'Well, that was anti-climatic.'
[What do you want from me?]
"Just how long do you plan to hide in here Alder?" A sweet and soft voice said from the front door of Joaquin's classroom.
Both Joaquin and Ains turned to see a boy with blue short hair holding a fan to his face. "Do I owe you anything Idol Wang?" Joaquin stood up and left through the back door.
Seeing someone he personally walked from class S to see walk away from him immediately upset Prince Wang. He immediately closed the fan and tried to run forward but ended hitting a desk. Ains giggled and ran after Joaquin.
"He always does this." Prince Wang sighed. "I should've brought Beipan with me."
