Chapter 28 - Operation Biurde

The next day Eguru faced an issue. His phone was low on battery and he didn't know how to charge it since it didn't come with a charger. He had to wait until Verzo got up and asked him immediately as his phone was at 6%.

"Ohh, I forgot to tell you about this. You just swipe down and you'll be able to see a drop-down menu. From there on swipe to the right and you'll see an icon that says "charge". Press it and your phone will charge. Usually takes around 2 - 3 hours to fully charge 'em."

Eguru did as told and was surprised when he noticed it really worked. "How does that even work?" he asked out of curiousity.

"In all of Raiherd there are generators that send off signals. They have a different wave length and signal than any other device so they don't end up mixing. Phones have chip-sets which can absorb these waves and make energy out of it."

Verzo went to another room while Eguru could only imagine how they managed to invent something like this. In his world the newest thing was speed charging. Your phone was at a 100% within 30 minutes but each time you charged it that way the phone's life expectancy dropped down bit by bit. Not very useful on long terms.

This however changed everything. Wi-Fi was accessable anywhere and you'd even be able to charge your phone while being on the edge of the world. Really impressive.

Neither of them had any plans for the day so they spent their time chatting, chilling in bed and sleeping.

"Operation Team Lead here. Requesting Team Delta to join our force now to take care of the enemy!"

"Roger that. Team Delta will now move forward."

Lia was wielding her katana like a wild beast. She was quick yet completely unstructured and had way too many openings. But it worked.

Imagine a gorilla wielding a sword. Behind and next to her were her team members. One of them was running around with an M4 while another one was blowing everything up with a mini cannon. Finally, there was another human that analysed the battlefield and made sure their operation would succeed.

Without this team of four nothing would go as smoothly as now. Well, they're the best of the best in Legrandeus after all.

"Team Beta reporting: All of the beasts have been killed and we're now taking care of survivors found in our area." - "Alright that. Stay alert all the time though, we can't tell for sure if those Rakaaz really have disappeared already."

With another swift swing another beast was fleshed out and blood burst out. It let out it's final screech and collapsed to the ground.

They were battling against giant creatures that stood on two legs and had black feathers around their whole body. Their claws were able to paralyze you for a good ten minutes which would result in death. You'd have to avoid any hit. Any force that would not be the royal military would've wiped already.

Rakaaz were even worse. One small scratch or a single hit could make your body lose a ton of blood within seconds. For some reason they are able to cause huge blood-loss. Kind of like in a video game.

"Operation Team Lead has taken out all the foes too. Team Alpha, how are things going for you? Please give us an immediate report."

Lia was the operation leader and as such she was able to give commands and was obligated to bring everyone back home safely. Failing to do so would only hurt her reputation. Taking a loss would damage the entire squad.

"Team Alpha here. We have yet to discover any casualties. Everything is clear so far. Not even a single foe came our way."

The entire lead team was shook when they heard those news. "It's even worse...!" Kizou, the man who was responsible of analyzing said in a voice that got more and more silent over time. "Get out of there immediately! I'm commanding every team to come back as soon as possible and join our force!!"

Lia almost screamed into her device. "What do we do now? Even worse than Rakaaz?! Even us, the royals can't handle them all alone!"

She made some gestures with her hands and walked in circles. "Calm down, I'm sure we'll be able to manage things even if they get heated", a calm and warm voice said. It was Celeste, a dwarfed girl that spoke. She also was the one holding a cannon.

The guy with the M4 was scouting the area and didn't say a single word. They now had to wait for all the other forces to arrive. A strategy for the worst case had to be made and executed accurately if they didn't want to die.

Kizou tried communicating with the headquarters. "Operation Team Lead requesting A-Rank reinforcements. A fight against Kashura may be unavoidable."

"Understood. Reinforments are on their way. Don't die on us, soldiers."

With that the call for help ended and they had to endure what was about to come. Time felt like it was slowed down tremendously.
