"So these are plots. How do I plant? " She looked curiously at a six squares.
That deep sigh. She could almost see Zero rolling his eyes. "Just press planting."
Another screen opened in front of her eyes and made her look happily at it. She could choose from seeds of plants he found in the house or around the house.
"You took seeds even from plants that I didn't have seeds from." Looking at various plants she smiled happily.
"One plot of potato's, one plot rice, one plot corn and one plot of wheat." She ordered but suddenly saw a timeline for the vegetables and wavered.
"They will have normal growth line, like on Earth. If that us you want to ask."
"Can I give up on those?"
"Of course, you still need to confirm it before we start."
"Then one plot of cucumbers, one cabbage, one plot of carrots and one plot with tomatoes..." She sent seeds to those few plots with basic plants and knew that she will have fresh vegetables in winter this way.
"When my power rises the planting space will become bigger. Then you can plant more."
"Ugh, OK. By the way, how should I know is your level higher or not? And how to raise it?"
"Oh yes, how foolish if me. I never told you. You can raise the level by planting, but its slow. Then using your powers. And by doing tasks."
"Tasks?"
The screen opened in front of her.
"Level: 0"
"Uses: 11/100"
"Planting: 4/10"
"Shield: Basic"
"Power: Light (basic)"
"Task: Kill 100 or plant 10 times and raise to level 1.
The gain of the task: Starting package."
Looking at simple data she nodded.
"I can raise levels sitting at home."
"Yes. But your powers would be left basic. As the world outside gets more and more powerful do you think sitting inside and just planting would keep you alive?"
Maria was actually hoping for that bit she was not so foolish to think everything could be done by sitting at home. Not in this kind of world.
"Are there other humans that have powers?"
"It should be. But, not all humans have powers. Most of them are just normal."
"My power. Light? Is it only destructive?"
"Of course not. Light can be used as a healing skill as well. Oh, yes. You can heal people and it will raise the experience. How many times you use so many times it raises the level."
"So if I healed ten people..."
"Will people become zombies if they are bitten by ones?"
"No. They can get poisoned and just die. As I said before... sigh... it's not a sickness or virus."
"Then if someone is bitten I can just heal him."
"Yes."
"Good. I think I know what am I going to do."
"Go to sleep. Even tho you are now power user your body is still human. It needs rest. I'll wake you up before dawn"
Maria quickly took shower and just was knocked out while suddenly ball of light hovered over her body and enveloped her body in soothing warmth.
"I didn't tell you. The powers you use, I can use as well. You are the first creature that just wants to do good things. But the world on Earth and outside is not so simple. You will have to learn how to kill sometimes as well..."
As it gave her more power her body healed rapidly and became stronger even without her becoming a work-out monster.
"Maria, wake up."
Her eyes popped open and she strangely felt completely energized. She worked so long in early hours so she didn't find it strange.
As soon she entered the living room she saw Nick sleepily stretching.
"I realized last night something. It seems I gained something strange. Your muscles hurt, don't they?"
For a child running around and trying yo survive and then dragging all those things, she might have bit muscles pain.
Nick stared at her now completely awake. As Maria put her hands on her body a warm feeling enveloped her and made her feel very comfortable. The whole procedure lasted just a few moments but she was now sure, this woman was meant to become a healer. Like in one of those games.
"You are a healer."
"I have the power of light. It seems I can kill zombies or just heal people."
"This is amazing."
"Now, let's check outside and let me try using my powers."
Nick was curious. On the balcony, they saw on opposite building group of people waving at her but she pointed at her hands. In confusion, they looked at her strangely and were astonished when they saw ball of light appearing.
She carefully looked down at threw the light and they could see one of the zombies just turning into specs of light. Not even dust was left of it. They realized what happened when she sent a few more light balls at the crowd.
The light was silent. And zombies just ignored it or tried to escape it. So as long they didn't see her position, she might as well kill many, but she wanted to do that when the street was cut off and they go down.
As soon the Sun hit the mirrors it created a light wall that made zombies again change direction. Maria pointed town and went away while the people rushed down as well. Now was the perfect time to explain this, but how?
Nick was standing right behind Maria that used the small side window of the staircase to clear most of the zombies that were trapped inside the wall of light.
''One more next to the green car.'' Nick whispered Looking for another target.
There were just a few left so she slowly poked her head out and saw few people rushing out the building to finish them off.
"Maria..." They rushed towards her with excitement.
How should she explain this? But as it seems her worries were unneeded.
