Street after street was cleaned and zombies have been pushed away more and more towards the water. Near the small pier was a huge bridge and zombies started moving away faster and faster so they had practically a free way towards the boats.
Actually, she didn't lose energy after she summoned that ball. She held it in front of her as the small ship started driving towards the small island in mid of the river.
As they neared they could see few zombies almost greeting them but they were shot and as they searched the island they realized it was empty, even the shelter for was wide open.
With careful steps, she slowly walked down while holding a big bright light ball in front of her. They ended up in front of a huge door that looked like part of a safe.
It was open and light growl could be heard from inside. She let the light ball gloat in front of them while few people approached the door to open it.
As it went more open she could see a few creatures trying to escape bright light that hit them directly. She already recognized them. Her employers that left a couple of days ago.
As she felt grateful for them she chose yo hive them quick death and just sent the light ball to clean them up. As they disappeared in specs of light she sent a small prayer for their souls and saw the whole group of men rushing g inside and checking the rooms.
"Sir, there are ten dormitories, big kitchen and dining area, a bunch of food, workout area, swimming pool and even life stock."
Maria was curious. "Huh, life stock?"
Coming to one of the rooms she saw boxes with rabbits, chickens and even big boxes filled with water and various fishes inside.
"They thought of everything as it seems. This is a good base for you all." Her words made Brian stock a bit.
"Would you be interested..." But saw her shaking her head.
She pointed at the city. "If we block the bridges or destroy them, the city can become an island as well. I like my home. Living underground would make sense if they start climbing walls or get wings. At that time I might consider your offer. And this place is too little for all of us."
He had to admit that her sentence was logical. But then got an idea.
"What if we build a building here. You can have top of it." Brian actually thought she needs light to recharge, so he offered her the top of the new building. "Most of us are builders so if we build a high building with your own level, would you come?"
She nodded. Who is crazy not yo accept that offer. "After you are done, I will come there. Until then I will stay in my home. And by the way, shall we ride the mall? It is on our way."
Looking at her sneaky expression they all started laughing. Even from the island, they could see a steady stream of zombies going over the bridge following others. Strangely, it looked like something is calling them to go that way.
They chose not to disturb their way so they came out of the faraway place and started shooting a few random zombies that appeared from buildings or side streets.
As they neared the mall they were feeling somewhat relieved. There were many zombies but the as well moved towards the bridge so they just went inside to be met with enclosed bunch inside the mall walls.
"The power went out and they stayed inside. You guys shoot the door open and a I'll clean them up. I am fully loaded now. " She chuckled at her own joke making them look at her with confusion.
Actually somehow she felt like she was gaining energy as long she was holding that energy ball in front of her. Let me she would gather light at the same time.
As soon they shot the door open the crowd was about to rush out but was literally disintegrated into specs of light as she sends the big light ball towards them.
Looking at a few random zombies that were left she just gathered again a big ball of light and just motioned at Brian to shoot them.
"I will use light only for bigger crowds. No need to spend it only on few of them."
Her words made them realize that it is indeed better to have it as their protection rather than attack force.
"So, where should we start?" Brian sent his people to both levels and occasional shots could be heard.
"You guys go and gather food, I need to get few personal items upstairs. Can I be alone?"
Brian nodded. "Of course."
He could see her red cheeks and thought that she must be looking for a few personal items so he just let people go right down to the food section.
Looking at the unmoving stairs she walked up and started raiding the stores.
As it was already messed everywhere, her doings couldn't be noticed much. Underwear, clothes, winter wear, shoes, beddings, curtains, cloth for making new clothes, and even a few beds that stood in showcasing glass. She went then to appliances store and got whole packages of small helping things and most importantly she found more freezers, solar elements, purifiers, purification filters and many things more that she didn't even know she needed it until she saw it.
Like toilet seats with automatic options. There will be no toilet paper soon. So these seats might be the best option for the future. And it's quite comfortable. Who will make these actually in future???
She whispered. "Zero, do I have still space?"
"Yes. Why are you whispering?"
"Because I can't explain who am I talking to if someone is near."
"Oh, yeah, forgot that."
"Oh, Zero..." She held her head. This program is really sometimes...
