Maria stood in the balcony and watched as slowly clouds gathered over the city, stopping the light and her premonition became true.
A growl could be heard and she saw a whole crowd of zombies moving back to the city.
"Zero, is there a way for me to stop them?" She knew that the guys were safe as they called her and told her. But what about the rest of humans?
"Nicky, go down and see how the girls and the baby is? Tell them to close windows and hallway doors after you. Until the storm doesn't pass, we must be careful." She didn't hear anything from Zero, so she assumed or he didn't hear her, or he didn't have an answer for her.
Luckily, she came quickly back and smiled. "They said they will listen to you and not open doors or windows until the next sunlight. After all, now they have enough food."
"Yes, we all have enough food. But..." After coming home she realized that she gathered enough food for them to be content for a few years, but what about after that?
"Stop thinking about stupid things and let me answer your other question. There is a way for you to get rid of them in one swipe. But, you might faint for many days afterward. You should tell your friends about it, so they could protect you. And protect Nicky." Zero knew by now how overprotective she had as towards that child.
She went inside and made a call. "Brian. Let's really zombies in one place. Is there a way? I have an idea of how to destroy them in one swipe, but I might faint after that. I'll need your protection in that case. For me and Nicky."
He realized what she just said and assured her. "I give you my word, no one would dare to get close to your place as we will watch. Part of my people will take over a few free apartments under you."
Maria actually planned to use the apartments to grow food, but this is good as well. After all, she has a humongous balcony. It's fine if she plants on it as well. ''Let's do that. Help me gather as many zombies as possible on one spot. Call me when you are ready.''
Nicky came in and furrowed her eyebrows. ''I can see that you plan something big. Will it be dangerous?''
Maria patted her cheeks. ''Yes. That is the reason why I need your help. In the next few days, I recuperate. Can you help me?''
''I will. Don't worry, I will do it all.'' Nicky held her fist hold and promised her making Maria chuckle.
''Don't worry, I will be fine. Just will sleep for a while. You just need to be in contact with Brian. About my body, just let me sleep. There won't be any need for anything until I wake up. Trust me. The system is protecting me.'' Maria was about to speak more, when her phone started ringing. ''Yes?''
''We used blood bags and drones to gather them at the stadium as we planned before. Many already gathered there and more are incoming. Let's hope the rain won't start before you come. Or the smell of blood will dissipate.'' Brian explained while he saw her coming down and stopped using the phone. ''Shall we?''
Maria summoned the light ball and rushed between a few dozen heavily armed men towards the stadium. They chose to walk as it well noisy, even tho the wind stopped, the rumbling of approaching clouds and storm could be heard.
The sun was already covered with thick white clouds, but strange dark clouds started appearing and gathered more and more. They started running and this time Brian and his people used weapons with a silencer. From time to time only slight pops could be heard, as they shot the few zombies they found in their way.
Luckily the stadium was not far, but not really big. Looking between the buildings they saw a huge parking space filled with zombies that walked quite fast towards the station.
Maria looked around and then up. ''It has a flat roof. That is all I need. Let's hurry up. I will use the storm for what I plan. Let's hope it will work.''
As they rushed up, they met few zombies but luckily not too many were there, so they arrived on the top flor fifteen minutes later and gasped. Running the whole way here and then the stairs, it was quite a lot.
But Maria had no time to waste so she tried to breathe steadily and closed her eyes and mumbled. ''Tell me what to do.''
They didn't hear her as suddenly a thunder broke through the sky and then the wind started gettings stronger again. Brian saw in worry at the sky, then at Maria that was trying to concentrate.
Zero was actually quite amazed by humans so he tried to explain, already expecting amazing things to happen. ''One of my previous masters had idea to mix light and electricity and infuse it into the water so the creatures would be fried. The past master feared to harm his own people so he used only a third of electricity as conduct for light to pass through the water that falls on their bodies. He called it Rain of Light.''
''Rain of Light...'' Maria rose her hands towards the sky and opened her eyes. She already imagined what he was talking about and concentrated.
As the first raindrops started falling, Brian and his people were staring at the lonely figure that tried to fight gusts of wind while concentrating her powers.
A strange dark ball appeared in one hand, while three times bigger light ball appeared in her other hands. She slowly rose her hands to the air and connected the two balls that suddenly became so shiny that they had to avert their gazes. As they connected, a new light ball was floating over her head and becoming bigger and bigger.
Everyone swallowed hard as they could literally feel the pressure coming from the big ball. It was wonderous, but at the same time very scary. But what happens next, made them feel really scared...
