Chereads / Reborn: To Save My Students / Chapter 21 - Confrontation

Chapter 21 - Confrontation

Four colorful Orbs laid on the table in front of me. It was mesmerizing to watch as each orb glowed it's rarity color. From ascending size, the smallest of the four orb, the epic orb glowed pink. The next orb, the legendary orb, glowed orange to the mythical orb that glowed red. The largest of the four orbs, the godly orb, glowed golden. In this world, each item, skills or whatever are graded with a rank. For quality it's rated from E to A whilst the rarity are rated from common to Godly.

It's rather awe-inspiring to see these four orbs not only together in one place but co-existing in each others proximity. The godly orb emitted a type of energy that felt like its pressuring you with its overwhelming presence. It's practically impossible to find an Godly orb, its just that rare but here it is in front of me. I reached over to touch it and then...

A pop up screen for the godly orb appeared.

In my previous life, I've always wondered what was the rarity of my skills and now I found out. Though I've only used them at basic levels... to think that the overall grandeur of these skills were this unfathomable. I sighed and decided to place the orbs in my storage ring until I reached the levels required to use them. The problem was that the orbs were already going to take up four of the ten spots.

I equipped the cloak and added the seven stat points.

Newbie's Magical Cloak [Equipped]

I added 3 points to Control and dumped the rest into preservation. Control will help me in stabilizing some of my hard to use skills and I assumed that the preservation stat meant that it will help preserve me in critical state. If I took a hit from a life threating move then I would assume I would at least survive it. This stat would've done pretty well when I was stabbed by Marlos's sword, kind of like a life line stat. With the bonuses from the cloak, the titles and the 12 stat points, my stats overall looked exceptional.

The only thing I haven't seen yet were the titles and the rewards from the missions. As expected of information network... always one step ahead, the info for all the titles popped up.

What?! +10 Luck and +5 concentration for passive stats, the list grows...

[Passive stat]

+10 energy regain

+10 Luck

+5 Concentration

I had just gotten this system today and from the stats alone, I would've beaten most players on the same level as me in a duel and the opponent would've called me 'unfair'. The possibility of gaining more stats surprised me. I felt my heart beat faster at the prospect.

"You know some of the stat points you placed are not ideal. I would've personally placed a lot of the points on preservation and will." My otaku side voiced his opinion.

"You just wanted to save yourself... remember if he dies, we die," my logical side stated in an accusatory tone.

"Hey! Is it wrong for me to want myself to live? Like the high order tailors said from the cloak, this world is just too cruel... to save anyone, we must save ourselves first."

I rubbed my temple as I opened up the inbox and started to think that these two antics are getting more real by the day.

{Inbox}

[Rewards for 'Teacher's heart' quest completion]

[Special Reward for 'Teacher's heart' time completion]

I opened the normal reward first because I'm more curious about the special reward. It's like I should have my dinner first before dessert or was it the other way around... I couldn't remember.

[You have completed the quest, 'Teacher's heart' and will now receive its rewards.]

[You have gained 1000 EXP]

[You have levelled up]

That's a lot of stat points and +15 Tenacity? That's beyond what I had expected the rewards were going to be. I have now 27 points left to allocate before I'm done.

Phew... I leaned back on my chair as I stared at the stats before me. I placed 10 in power, 7 in preservation and 10 in agility. This was much more work then grading 20 scripts I had assigned my class for their assignment. I was about to get up from my seat and go find my students when I heard a squeal from the bookshelves at the far end Corner of the historical section.

"Please don't come any closer." The voice was small as four other voices appeared.

"And why should we?"

"Maybe she's afraid we might do something to her?"

"You think so too, brother?"

"Just look at her, a scared little mouse, whimpering in a corner where no one can help you."

"Someone help me!" She screamed as the four men approached closer to her, laughing.

I crept closer to the location of the voices. I peeked through the cracks of the books on shelves and saw four men hovering over a female librarian. The four men looked like they were aristocrats and are using their wealth and family name drops to threaten the poor girl.

I could hear the soft sobs of the girl from where I was and felt the urge to just walk up to them and stop them. That, however would not be the best plan of action as I took a better look at them. They were indeed aristocrats and all four of them had this predatory aura about them.

I was only a couple of bookshelves away but as I inched my way closer, I could hear the guys starting to torment her by calling her all sort of names. I used master's eyes too get a better look and profiles of all the people involved popped up in front of me.

One of the aristocrats profile that popped up was familiar to me. I combed through my memories and remembered that this guy was the son of one of the vassals that was present at the summoning platform with the king. In my previous life, I remembered that he had a very short fuse and I wondered that, that's what had happened in this situation.

I could feel my heartbeat hammered inside my chest as the aristocrats started to get bored. When people who tend to get bored easily, would tend to do drum up some entertainment to fill the void. As my master's eyes were still active, the passive stat that came with the level up, perception 50 was beginning to show.

I walked out from behind the bookshelf that I hid myself behind and confronted them.

"I would suggest you to stop."

"Says who?"

"Says the teacher who is about to punish four disobedient kids."
