Looking at the list sent goosebumps all over, it brought back memories... Oh how I missed being a recruiter for my clan back in those days. The only problem was that fluctuations of the number count as new members join and other leaves. It always saddens me when the count drops but, in this case however was not the same.
A grin formed on my face.
I was busy admiring Baihu's roster and forgot that the two siblings that was now waiting patiently had concerns in their eyes.
"Hey big boss, you alright? You suddenly spaced out on us..."
I shook my head in an attempt to make it looked like I was thinking about something.
"Sorry, I was just thinking... Lavira, back when you and Gunther were about to fight Ezekiel, did you have a skill set or powers in any sort?"
"No..." ... "But at that time, I didn't really think about it at all."
I knew it. Someday, this girl's impulsiveness will get herself killed. With no powers or a skills set, she was about to face a powerful foe whom with one single glare, petrified me. Gunther would've definitely protected her if anything went wrong or I would definitely would've tried something but in life nothing was certain. She needed to control her impulsiveness, if not for her sake but for everyone else's.
"I want you to rein in that impulsiveness of yours. It's dangerous to just jump in there without a plan."
"I'll try..." Lavira voice lowered into a whisper.
"That's all I ask." I gave her a warm smile in hopes to emphasise that I'm not mad at her but concerned that if she kept on doing it, then there will be a day where she will put herself in harms's way.
She returned the warm gesture with such poise and elegance befitting from a head librarian.
"Hey... where's Rolan and his father?"
I had forgotten all about Rolan and his father when everything was in disarray but now that everything had calm down. I wanted to have a little chat with the both of them.
"I think they went with the crowd. Probably to try and hide their humiliation." Gunther scoffed when he said the world 'humiliation'. "I believed that they got lucky this time around because if they did this type of shit again... I wouldn't mind using the father as my new punching bag..."
"Hey teach! There you are, we've been looking all over for you."
Right at the library's entrance way stood Stella with Rain and Lucy next to her. The rest of the class was right behind them.
"You should be in bed, resting." Lucy scolded me in a worried tone.
A smile formed on my face. Sometimes I forget that they are my students.
"We were so worry this morning, they said, they found you and Rex in this dungeon place but when we asked Rex, he said he couldn't remember."
I looked behind the trio to see the students behind them but I couldn't see Rex.
"Where's Rex?"
"Rex said he wanted a lie down before dinner. So after training, he went straight to his room."
"I see." I noticed a few of my students eyeing Gunther and also a few glances at Lavira. "Guys come here for a sec."
I beckoned them to come in and slowly they did. They all had curious faces on as they saw the scene before them.
"Guys, I would like to introduce to you Gunther and Lavira. I've met these two siblings when I came into the library. Gunther is a member of the king's guard and Lavira is the head librarian ."
"Oh wow, he's so big and handsome!" Exclaimed Chloe.
"I hear you," followed Ann.
My class was slowly but surely began to be enthralled by the two siblings as they bombarded the two with questions. After a while, I stepped in and told everyone that it's getting late and that they should go back to their rooms. After they said their goodbyes to the two, they all went back to their room to get ready for dinner.
I laid on my bed and ran through all that happened last night and today. I ran a hand through my hair as all the memories came flooding back into my mind. I managed to save Rex and took the king's guards for my own, then I saved a librarian from four entitled snobs. After that we nearly came face to face with vice councillor Ezekiel. What's surprising was that he was beaten so easily.
It sure had been a long day and laying on this bed right now felt so good that I might just take a nap for a little while. I used to take naps a lot when I was at school. I would sleep on the bus until the bus arrives at my stop. Sometimes I would miss my stop and had to wait for the returning bus to come.
I was about to close my eyes when I remembered something. I've still haven't tried out my information network skill. I wanted to try it but there were many things that happened today that got in the way of me doing so.
I opened up my skill's set page and right in-between master's eyes and mastermind was a glowing text that said 'information network'. I pressed the button and what appeared in front of me nearly brought my jaw to the floor. A pane of holographic glass that looked like a futuristic version of what a computer monitoring system would look like. Like if the alphabet companies such as the FBI or the DEA had equipment that came out of a sci-fi movie.
I could see a lot of information appearing onto the screen. There were a database full of profiles and maps. There was a map that showed everyone, kind of like the marauder's map.
I smiled to myself as a reference popped into my mind. I knew that Roha was the one that gave me all the information. From the description of the skill itself said it all. So does that mean, Roha is like Oracle and I'm Batman? Oh now that would be something... I mean I'm not resourceful or athletic but I do have my smarts.
Maybe if I wore a suit of amour, I could be Ironman and Roha could be Jarvis? I started to giggle at the thought. Seeing information network in all it's glory got me thinking... how on earth did it get live images and footage... I would not be surprised if the images and footage came from invisible drones.
Hmm...
Suddenly screens out of nowhere popped in front of me, that showed me footage of my students. I was surprised by it as most of the footage were inside my students room. That shocked me to my core as I saw Rex laid on his bed staring at the ceiling. He was deep in thought and I wondered what he was thinking about...
I hoped Rex was alright. He told the class that he didn't remember anything but from what the footage I've just seen of him, I could tell he hasn't forgotten anything. I think I'll have a chat with him later, though I hoped he would come to me like Stella.
Even if someone seemed to be fine on the surface and they kept telling everyone else they're fine, then there is a high chance they are not. Sometimes it's best to just talk things out. I may not be the best councillor but I'm a damn fine listener.
I swiped passed all of my students footage, if one thing was certain, every single one of my students is underage. They are all under eighteen and back in our world, it's illegal to spy on anyone nonetheless minors. As a teacher, I had just broken a lot of rules and regulations just by viewing the footage as it is right now.
I let out a long sigh before looking through the rest of the skill.
There were so many features in this skill, that I didn't really think of it as a skill anymore. It like a whole other system on it's own but also connected itself with other skills.
This got me thinking, if this had multiple communication channels than this truly would be a miracle system... a system that has everything...
{I think you should try speaking to someone using communication link.}
Wait... what?
{Just say one of the names from your companies. Like this... Connect to Gunther and then speak.}
Connect to Gunther... Hello?
Nothing happened... maybe I should say the command?
"Connect to Gunther... Hello?"
I waited for a little while wondering what Roha was talking about when out of no where, Gunther's voice rang in my head. He's voice was crisp and loud as if he was shouting. I could hear a tinge of panic in his voice as well.
"Hello? Who's there?"
