Vice councillor Ezekiel sighed as he walked over towards Rolan and his father who was now very animated with his finger pointing.
"Mister Orion Balius, I came to you today to discuss some very important matters. I'm on a tight schedule and yet you dragged me down here with your rude mannered, spoiled son and wasted my time." He then narrowed his eyes onto Orion who's now sweating profusely. "I see now that your control over your son is the same as your control over your life. There is nothing more I could discuss with you. Good day."
Ezekiel gave Orion a fleeting stoic stare before moving onto Lavira.
"Head librarian, I'm sorry for this disturbance. I'm ashamed at the audacity of some people who could only see the coins in their hands and not the bigger picture. As someone from the higher court, I apologise for this incident."
Leaving the flustered Lavira to figure out what he just said, he moved towards me and Gunther.
"King's guard, aren't you supposed to be on duty. Why are you in such a place like this?"
I could tell on a sideward glance at Gunther that he was going pale. It was very obvious the reason why he was here in this library consider his sister was only a few feet away. I glanced at Lavira next who wore a stoic face but it wasn't perfect as her body movements betrayed her. She was overwhelmingly worried about her brother. From what I gathered in their back story was that she held two positions in Gunther's life.
One being his older protective sister but also two, she was also a mother figure to him. I for one couldn't tell the difference from the two because in a way both positions are exactly the same. Like a mother worried about her child or an older sister worried about her little brother, her eyes wavered and teary as she watched her brother's complexion paled even further by Ezekiel interrogation.
"I... I..." Gunther stammered as the cold stare of Ezekiel eye's bore into him.
"I asked him to be here." I couldn't bare it any longer, to watch a full grown mountain of a man, turn into a ghost.
Ezekiel head swivelled to me with the same cold stare. His eyes was like if I was looking a desolate snowing wasteland and I was stuck there succumbing to the cold embrace in my icy tomb.
Ba-dump... Ba-dump...
I felt my heartbeat rate slowed. I wanted to speak but it was getting harder to open my mouth. Just from the stare alone, I felt my entire being freeze up... seized up.
[Warning: Your heartbeat rate has dropped by 75% and slowly decreasing. Preservation and will stats has been activated.]
Like I had inwardly gasp a lung full of air, I didn't know I was deprived of, I felt my entire being breathe again.
"I had asked the king's guard a question, I don't remember asking a plebeian such as yourself, one."
Ezekiel clicked his tongue and swivelled his icy cold stare back to Gunther.
"Now, before we were rudely interrupted, you were giving me an answer as to why you're here and not at your position of duty?"
"I...I was visiting my sister. I visit her every single day."
Ezekiel face crinkled at Gunther's answer.
"I see. Very admirable. However, I hope in the future, these trips becomes less frequent. YOUR DUTY IS TO THE KING!"
Ezekiel spat the last few words out as if he was one of those training instructors, who had told the trainees way to many times that one important rule, so no one forgets.
"I... I..."
Gunther was at the brink of breaking down.
"I... I... what?"
Ezekiel too was on the brink of breaking down... his patience that is.
"Though I serve the king as his king's guard, I will never abandon my daily ritual with my sister."
Gunther whole appearance changed in a complete 180. From a white ghost to an angry son that told his dad that he will continue on seeing this girl regardless of what he said.
"You have an oath."
"I did and I also gave an oath to my sister."
"You gave an oath only to serve the king, and the king alone. The sole purpose of the king's guard is to protect the king and nothing else. You must give up your tie with your sister. Or your head is on the chopping block!"
When Ezekiel spoke those last words, it was not Gunther who shot out first but instead Lavira. As soon as Ezekiel spoke the words, she couldn't control her emotions anymore.
"How dare you threaten my brother!"
"Head librarian, are you out of goddamn mind? You have no position in our conversation. I suggest you better get back to work or you too will be on the chopping block."
Lavira demeanour darkened, the two siblings were on the verge of ripping Ezekiel apart. The onlookers who had stayed and watched the whole thing unfold were now chatting up a storm. They were about to witness two siblings about to take on a member of the higher court.
The tension in this area was high and thick. You could feel the emotions the two siblings emitted out whilst Ezekiel had a stoic expression on. He was calm, very calm.
I had no idea what kind of power, skill set this guy have, if not any but I could tell his a much higher level then me. When I fought Rolan, he was about my level or at least a couple of levels higher. My stats was what kept me in the brawl even though I'm only a support... that was until he used his skill set. Ezekiel was different, though he doesn't look like it, he's strong.
From what I can tell, Gunther is a tanker with tanker skill set but I have no idea what Lavira have if not any.
I walked up to Gunther and place a hand on his back and used helping hand. I wanted to boost his stats and maybe we could hold this out. I frowned as helping hand was not working. Helping hand! Nothing.
Maybe I should try saying it?
"Helping hand."
[Helping hand has been activated, [Heal] or [Boost]]
What?
{I gave you full access to the system, it's your system now.}
Wait, so all this time you've been the one using the skills when I thought of them?
{Yes.}
[[Heal] or [Boost]]
Eh... I guess I have to manually speak the command to activate the skill?
{Correct.}
"Boost." I mouthed.
As soon as I said 'boost', Gunther lit up in a blue glow and then I felt it. He's power risen. Ezekiel who was initially had an eyebrow raised, was now in total shock. Gunther grew larger then he already was.
In an instant, Gunther charged at Ezekiel and smashed into him but when he did, Ezekiel broke into smithereens.
What the...
Lavira who was standing beside me rushed over to her brother. I walked over there too and examined the situation. He broke into tiny pieces? As I looked closer the dust that was on the ground had an icy air around it. He was like a clone or something that guy Naruto based who could make ice clones.
"Whew, what happened?" Gunther was on the ground and Lavira was fretting around him like a worried mother.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, Sis."
"Hey big boss, what do you think happened to that guy?"
I shrugged. "Seems like he turned to ice when you smashed into him."
The onlookers who surrounded us were shocked beyond belief. The librarian who I saved was trying her best to calm the crowd down. Lavira who was now satisfied at her brother's condition got back up from her kneeling position and walked towards the crowd and help her librarian in dispersing the crowd.
Once the crowd finally dispersed when Lavira animatedly told everyone that she would explain everything to everyone in due time.
I walked over to Gunther who was patting himself down of the icy dust that might've clung onto him.
"What's going to happen now? Do you think Ezekiel will seek revenge?"
"Maybe. I don't know much about the guy but he seems to be one of those people who won't let a thing go down."
From what the attitude of a guy that looked like supreme leader Snoke and the critic from Ratatouille combine together. The system already told me that he was one of the ones that was responsible for me and my students death. I need more information about him, now that I've found one of the key players, I think it's time to do some information networking. But first I need to see my students first, I think it should be time for them to finish their training session with Garret.
"Shall we go?" I asked Gunther if he would like to come with me, since I wanted to ask him something before I find my students.
"Sure," he answered, "hey sis! We're going, I'll talk to you more, tomorrow."
Before we even took a step.
"Wait!"
Lavira ran towards us as she waved us to stop. When she stood in front of me she asked something that surprised me.
"I would like to join Baihu."
Wait, how did she know about Baihu... unless. I looked over to Gunther who looked down. I mean I would've loved for her to join but I don't think that's how it...
[Lavira Hakko Robin would like to join Baihu. [Accept] or [Decline]]
What?! Roha, I thought Mastermind doesn't work that way...
{Oh! Congratulations on finding someone willingly want to join without making them.}
I'm so confused.
{Don't be, just accept and she will be in Baihu. It's as simple as that. The converter skill is a skill that allows the user to converter those that don't want to join. Now you've got someone that does. Accept her!}
Hm... wouldn't it be dangerous for her to join since I don't think she would have a skill set... wait she has her smarts... she could be a great addition to the team as an intelligence member... I remember back when I recruited people for my clan in an FPS game I once played and I need people to help me run the clan or give me advice when we have clan wars... yes...
A smile formed on my face.
"Accept."
A long thin translucent string shot from me and circled Lavira. It went around her a couple of times before it glowed like a halo.
[Lavira has joined Baihu. (Baihu: 7/10)]
Class: Mastermind
[29/100 total converters]
[28 Conversions]
[1 Willfully Joined]
Groups: [2\10]
The knight's Order lvl 3: [22/30]
Baihu lvl 1: [7/10]
"I welcome you to Baihu."
"It's my pleasure. I hope I could be helpful to you."
She gave me a warm smile and Gunther gave his sister a great big warm hug.
She would be a very nice new addition in Baihu and with her smarts, she would be very helpful in the future.
