"You okay new girl?" Rail snapped over to Michigan and picked her up. "What's wrong?"
"I had a portal hidden just in case I needed to sacrifice myself so Zack could attack," Michigan moved and a hole appeared that showed where Malvin was heading. "I put it on his back... Do you want me to remove it?"
"You mean? You-you can do that?" Haze said as he walked over to the portal, "Can't he hear us? Shouldn't he notice a hole on his back?"
"He'd hear us if we crossed the portal. It's a shame he's giving away that cute dog right now..."
"That's besides the point," Rail took a deep breathe and then passed Haze the computer, "I-I should be apologizing Haze. Sorry about playing a joke on you."
"I-I'm sorry too," Mack took a small phone out of his pocket and tossed it to Haze. "Well, I took that guys phone when I was crossing him earlier. I figured there is a chance he has some abilities on his phone..."
"Sneaky... I will keep my door locked at night," Zack turned on Burn that Witch as Haze sighed and unlocked the phone. "Wait, he's going to realize we stole his phone! Then he might never join the guild!"
"When he gets home, I'll just throw it on the floor," Michigan stood up and fixed her red trench coat as her white crop top rustled against her skin. "Anyways, Malvin seems to be able to run really fast..."
Michigan pointed to the portal. She could see the cityscape from below as Malvin hopped across a gigantic skyscraper to one nearly a hundred feet away. "He seems to be in a rush to get somewhere... You want to watch?"
"Sure, we have two hours before the promotion event," Haze walked over to the portal in the center of the couch and leaned in to take a look. "It's strange... There is really no way for him to tell that it's there?"
"Nope," Rail snapped her finger and appeared on the corner of the couch as she also watched... "Nice to see that he lives in a pent house and has a helicopter... He's definitely not doing badly."
"I-I feel sad," Zack stared into Michigan's eyes with a downcast expression as he looked at the portal, "This is so useful. All I can do is attack things within ten meters of me..."
"He's meeting someone... Be quiet," Michigan said as she gently pushed Zack with a slight smile. "This is about to get good... Relax, even I that just got here can tell Haze needs you..."
"I'm taking that to heart, thank you..." Zack smiled and looked at Haze with a cursory glance before he whistled and tossed away the remote. He turned back around and saw Malvin walking up to a man with black tentacles coming out of his body.
"Did-did he agree to help us?"
"Yes, but are you sure we should join his guild?"
"Why not?" The man with the tentacles crossed his arms and angrily tapped his fingers. "We're going to be hunted by them... The guild that has no limits..."
"What does that even mean?" Malvin walked up to the man and pushed him in the chest. "Things weren't supposed to get so complicated. This all happened because of Angelis... She betrayed us and now we're counting on a noob to save us..."
"What... can they please use specifics?" Haze said as he took out his cellphone and began recording. "Mack, Rail... Do you know what company gives tentacles? What application do you think that is?"
"I have no idea..." Rail sighed as Malvin and the tentacular man walked towards a car and got inside. "However, they sure are being cautious... Anyone have a problem with moving to another continent?"
"I'm fine with everywhere besides Greenland..." Zack yawned and took out a chip, "They lied about the temperature there...I don't want to be cold when it should be warm."
"Wait, but what if he was telling the truth," Haze squeezed his fist tightly and pointed at the map of Australia that was still loaded on the laptop. "They aren't lying! Damn it! Just keep that portal open as long as possible Michigan... Tell us if you find anything out."
"Of course," Michigan nodded her head and took off her jacket as her curves twisted gently down to her feet. "Would you like to test me quickly, Haze? I still haven't used War chant yet..."
"I'll be in the other room. Got to think!" Haze walked up to his bedroom only to find Calli in the hallway in a new outfit. "You-you mind going downstairs and checking on Mack, Calli? I think he might have gotten hurt and isn't saying anything..."
"Sure, but what about me?" Calli said as she crossed her arms. "Do you need me for anything? I might be able to help."
"Thanks, but give me two hours... When I come out, I'll need you... For now, I got to make sure we're all alive tomorrow." Haze closed the door to his room and sat down with his arms crossed as the light twinkled in from the east. He sighed and turned over only to find Zack sitting in front of the television.
"Oh, did you want to be alone? Sorry, I'll go downstairs."
"How did you get up here anyway?" Zack said as he looked out at the hallway as Calli smiled and leaned in by the door. "I thought-I thought... I thought..."
"Oh, you had the window open, so I decided to race you... I won..."
