Chapter 45 - Airborne

Haze opened up the envelope and pulled out a list.

As soon as he pulled it out, a screen appeared on the right side of his vision. It was floating right over Rail as she crossed her arms.

"What is it? Do you not like the missions?"

"It-It's floating above your head!" Haze pointed as the tabs changed from missions to players. "Wait, it's also showing three other player names. I thought we were alone,"

Oh, they are probably here to kill you," Zack saw a small mole and put away his sword back into his sheathe. His killing intent started to fade as he looked around the area. "No need to worry. They should only be able to bring three gods while there are nine of us."

Haze nodded his head and took a deep breathe before he finally focused on the missions tab as it shifted back. He had to complete three rather hard to understand missions in a short amount of time.

[Current Missions]

[Find the hidden dragon laying in the mist of the forest.]

[Tip: sometimes getting devoured is the only way to slay a dragon]

(Reward: one god credit)

[Crack the code of bliss inside the towering city)

[Tip: a skyscraper doesn't always have to be above the ground, nor does it have to touch the sky)

(Reward: two god credits)

[Kill three [godsmiths] before the time is up]

[They will teleport to your location during the last hour.]

[Reward: three god credits]

"Well, that's interesting. They made it so i can't see the missions," Rail looked up as the box dodged her vision, "What are we doing first Haze?"

"I-I have a plan... It's going to require three of you to work together, though," Haze pointed at Michigan, Helm, and Rail, "I-I think one of our best strategies it to put a portal on you Rail and have you teleport around. Helm can make a map of it, right?"

"Yes, there should be no problem of me memorizing this small place. it be best if she had an ariel view though."

"Ugh, okay... Michigan? You mind putting the portal on my chest. That way Zack can attack if we get in trouble," Rail took a deep breath as she looked up at the clouds, her eyes turning a glacial cold as she started to focus. "I-I need to be thrown though... It's hard for me to teleport to higher altitudes."

"I got it," Zack walked over to Rail and flipped her onto his back before he leaned back and tensed his arm. He bent forward and as Rail covered her eyes and held her breathe.

With a single twitch of his arm he pulled her off his back like he was throwing a sword.

Rail went flying into the sky like a missile and towards the clouds before she disappeared.

"Portal activated," Michigan smiled as she saw the clouds spinning with Rail flying higher and higher. "I-I think you tossed her too hard. Even I'm getting sick."

"She's meant to be in the clouds," Zack nodded his head as he took out his sword as she started to spin towards the forest.

The trees started to enlarge and burgeon in her eyes before she teleported forward twenty meters.

When she teleported it seemed to stop her from dropping for a few seconds, so she began to teleport around the map as Helm took detailed notes. The forest she was teleporting around in seemed to have four areas, the [west], [south], [north] and [east] area. Each area had different, strange colored trees blossoming whit different flowers.

In the center of the forest was a single sculpture of a dragon, shimmering with strange nimbus like scales that jutted out everywhere like sharp spears. It's eyes were menacing and staring forward with a strange contempt for the forest.

Rail snapped her fingers and appeared back by Helm as he drew a map on the soil, using a stick he found in the debris.

"Bleh, I feel sick." Rail rolled onto the floor and onto Haze's feet. "Zack, you-you tossed me like a rag doll, I'm impressed."

"Well, let's get heading to the dragon," Haze put his hands in his pocket.

The forest he was in had been mapped out and he was now confident where to complete the frist mission. His only concern was the other players because he didn't know their abilities or if they were working together.

If they were working together, then that meant they probably had three of their best gods each. That meant that they probably focused on just offense and defense without gods like helm to help map the area.

"Turn right at that tree, and the dragon should be a few miles ahead. I noticed one small area where someone might be hiding."

"How? All I saw was stars," Rail leaned against Haze and grabbed his shirt. "Please, father, don't make me do that again for a few hours. There is only so much a little girl can handle."

"Let's go check out that spot then," Haze nodded his head, "I should try and kill my competition as fast as possible. I can't always be that person scared of taking initiative."

"Oh, I think his training is finally taking effect," Mace bit down on her lips as they began to see the curving body of the dragon shimmering radiantly in the distance. "Let's hope we win this thing."
