In the forest, birds could be heard chirping in strange ominous tunes as Haze walked to the location that Helm indicated with a motion of his hand.
Haze nodded at Zack as he pulled out his sword and suffused his energy into the tip of the blade. He stepped down on his right foot with a portal in front of his body that Nicety was aiming at with her hand held like a pistol.
Zack jumped up into the air and slashed towards a series of trees that seemed almost too close together. There was five trees that had been crunched into a square that seemed unnaturally pulled their by an abnormal force.
The five trees instantly fell down as Zack put away the sword as the trees fell. They screeched and timbered over before they crashed into the ground and caused thousands of leaves to fall into the air. A small hole was in the center of the trees, hiding between the stumps that surrounded it.
"That's just a hole," Zack sighed and put his hands in his pocket. "Any good ideas?"
"I can attach a portal to a rock if you throw it in there. Does that sword skill of yours glow Zack?"
"It glows," Zack nodded his head and jumped up onto the trees as he held up a boulder he found lying idly on the ground. "So what? I toss it in and then we can see inside the ground?"
"It's not that hard Zack," Rail snapped a little bit as the leaves whistled from the incoming west wind, causing a few of the not bloomed flowers to open up and release a strange haze of pollen into the air. "I-I have a feeling we shouldn't stay here for too long."
"dropped it," Zack jumped off the tree and quickly walked over to Michigan and put the sword in the portal, "Strange, it didn't make a sound."
"It's clearly a large hole," Michigan laughed as Haze put his hand that was shimmering red into the round ovular membrane. "Just be careful. When the rock hits the ground, it could smash your hand."
"Got it," Haze nodded his head as the rock kept falling, twisting in the air as a red light beckoned out from it and painted the craggy surfaces all around jutting like scales from the walls. "However, why hasn't it hit the floor yet?"
"I think we found the towering city," Rail pointed at the portal before the rock bounced off a glass surface. The inside of a building could be seen descending down further and further and further into the ground, "Looks like we can't fall though, or else, even I can't teleport us to safety."
"Well, that's two birds with one stone," Zack said as Haze nodded his head and pointed at the dragon, "What's up Haze? Why aren't you talking?"
"I know that-that building. I grew up in a tall tower like that...." Haze shivered as he thought about his parents, "I try not to remember where I grew up, it wasn't fun being a nerd wanting to get into medical school."
"Don't worry, you're now a
"Just, so many bad things happened to me as a child," Haze wiped off a tear from his eye as he looked at the building, "I-I really hope it's only the building. If my past is inside there, I-I might snap or something."
"You won't snap..." Rail put her hand on Haze's back before she crawled up his shirt to his shoulders. "Shall we just teleport to the dragon now? Seems like no ones here."
"Burst!" A voice seemed to come out of no where before a tree by Haze blew up and turned into wood chips. "Burst! Burst! Burst!"
"What the hell?" Haze ducked as chips shot out all around him as Lapis activated her shield. "What the hell is that?"
"A very annoying ability. Let's go," Rail closed her eyes and snapped to in front of the dragon with Haze, Zack, and Michigan. "Got to go back and get the rest of them. Hold on."
"Burst!" A deep man's voice seemed to come from the east. Haze dropped his head as Zack instantly pulled out his sword. He slightly turned it to block where the sound was coming from.
A moment later, his body seemed to get pushed into the air and slammed into the ground. His white hair flew up into the air with thousands of leaves before Lapis appeared and bowed down beside him.
"Well, that's insane," Zack wiped the dirt off his head before the man's voice seemed to dissipate. "What kind of attack is that? Ow..."
"It's definitely a limited one," Rail sighed and pointed out the dragon, "Let's figure how to get this thing to swallow us before that damn man comes back."
