Chapter 44 - Five Hours

Haze spent two hours in his room contemplating and running over simulations in his head.

He thought of hundreds of possibilities for the prime candidate mission, and finally felt somewhat satisfied with his visualizations. He sighed and got up and stretched and walked downstairs to his laptop. He immediately decided to print his 9th god, and get ready to start the prime mission.

"You-you took a nap? You look focused," Rail walked up to Haze with a new pink skirt on and a red dress, her beautiful brown eyes staring into his own. "Want to hear what we were doing?"

"Zack fought me again," Nicety smiled brightly as her read hair danced down the sides of her neck, "We're now seven seven... He's definitely getting stronger every battle. I wonder what his random attributes were?"

"You mean.. Something good can come from being unplanned?" Zack looked confused as he stared at the mirror, and fixed the flap of his black coat, finding himself amusing to look at for the first time. "Wow, I almost feel better now. However, is it me, or are the commercials getting longer?"

"It's near the end of the episode," Haze clicked confirm and checked out the new god he designed, Helm. His was a skill named and his secondary ability was . The skill mimic allowed him to store one ability that the other gods had, and the ability recall let him remember anything.

Haze spent a lot of time thinking about it, tossing and turning thoughts in his head, and he kept worrying that there would be puzzles or some type of information challenge during the prime promotion mission. Helm was supposed to make up for that weakness, but also needed to have ample strength if he was going to mimic Zack's skills.

"I-I'm thinking I should memorize some things before we leave," Helm walked over to Haze and gestured at the laptop. "How about I memorize the entire application? If you need me to create it again from scratch, till take me just 5 hours."

"Dude, isn't that overkill?" Rail smiled and snapped to Haze with a bemused look. "If you memorize the entire app, someone else might be able to capture you, and force you to write it down."

"It-it's not a bad idea... There may be perks to having that information on hand," Lapis had a suitcase packed with clothing, staring at the screen with deep breaths. "How long do you think we'll be gone for? I packed clothes for two days."

"Bring food," Zack patted Mack on the back as he got up and stretched before heading towards the kitchen, "by the way, what are we going to do about food? I like to snack when I'm in danger."

"I-I have a skill called [ghost store] that I can use," Mack sighed and walked to the kitchen. "I'll store some food for us... Rail, mind going to the store with me and taking some stuff."

"We can buy food too, Mack," Lapis smiled and leaned down and patted him on the head with a smile on her face. "However, it might be wise to ask [Eternal Fantasy] to come here and house sit. We don't want anyone breaking in and surprising us when we're gone."

"I-I don't think we should message her," Haze nodded his head and loaded the prime mission as Mack ran to the kitchen, getting the hint that he should pack food fast. "I-I think we should go now, get back as soon as possible... Something doesn't make sense."

"You mean that Lake Guild? Whatever it's called..." Rail turned to Zack as Michigan smiled and shut off the television, "Yeah, it's kind of strange that got all that information about us from a single match. Those people that tried to sacrifice [Joke Land] probably have a bone to pick with you."

"Thats why we must get stronger now!" Haze looked at Mack as he opened the fridge and showed it was empty. "Let's go! Let's complete this mission, get back here by 5, and-and wait. Will that portal stay open Michigan?"

"Nope, but they're both sleeping now." Michigan smiled as her ravishing countenance appeared under the glimmer of the fluorescent lights. "They might be sleeping for two days from what I heard. Something about not getting listened to by Angelis?"

"Well, I'm ready," Zack cracked his neck and took a deep breath, "If I die, please bury me in front of a television, and leave it on."

"You're not going to die," Rail smiled as Haze clicked on the start . "The worst that can happen is we fail and our lives get a thousand times harder... You Ready Haze?"

Haze smiled and finally toggled the mouse with a light touch before he looked around and saw he arrived in a forest with thousands of sinuous trees blowing in the wind. There was a small man with a cane in front of them smiling as he tossed an envelope to Haze.

"Good luck. Get back here in five hours or the mission is failed."

"Read the envelope, and complete the three tasks. If you can't complete them, feel free to surrender. However, if you surrender, two of your gods must randomly be sacrificed."

"Wait, I don't like random things," Zack walked up to the wobbling man and pulled out his sword, "What if I just beat you, would that work?"

"I-I'm confused... Why-why doesn't this look like Earth?" Haze asked as the man turned around and began to walk away, quicker than someone so old should be able to walk. "Rail, can you teleport me to him?"

"Only if you want to be killed," Rail sighed and reached down to open the envelope. "Let's get this done quickly. The sooner we get home, the sooner I can see what I look like in the D rank."

"I agree. I think I forgot to record," Zack heard the hissing sound from the trees and pulled out his blade. "This seems more important, though, much more important."
