Elizabeth's driver came to pick her up after receiving a call from her. The driver did not fail to notice that her bright eyes have now turned red. The man wanted to ask if his master's wife was fine but he chose not to open his mouth. The traffic was heavy and the car had to stop in the middle of the road along with other vehicles. Elizabeth opened her eyes to see the commotion that was caused because of a random person's vehicle that blocked the road. Her eyes shifted to the right side where she caught the sight of a couple of teenagers in their school uniform, holding hands and walking beside each other with swift steps on the foot path and a bag on their shoulders which was swaying in rhythm to their foot steps. Being a student of Elite's school, she could recognize that the students belonged to the same school she studied for four years. Not wanting to remember the past again, she leaned back to close her eyes and divert herself. But she couldn't help herself from stopping the memories being replayed involuntarily on her mind.
It was her first day at school. The fourteen year old Elizabeth followed her teacher into the class who asked her to introduce herself to her new classmates. But out of nervousness, she couldn't introduce herself properly and the entire class bursted into laughter the very next moment. After telling her name she was told to find a seat for herself by the teacher. She walked taking short strides and noticed that the students were not willing to share their seats with her, but to her surprise one guy moved his bag for her to sit which made her happy. "Thank you," her words came from the bottom of her heart. She couldn't ignore her classmates who were whispering among themselves which made her wonder, "What made the class fill with the sound of murmurs. Was it me?" a thought struck her mind.
As the teacher started to teach, she tried to concentrate but she couldn't. She was uncomfortable with the whole ambience in the class when she felt her classmates staring at her from time to time, especially girls. It was after a few minutes she understood that the person who was being stared was not her, but the person beside her. She couldn't see him clearly while occupying the empty seat because the guy immediately turned his face after removing the bag. Being a curious one, she tried to look to her left side and saw him reading a book, but her eyes widened reading the title of the book. She was shocked to see him placing an English novel on the bench to read in history class while the teacher was teaching.
The next moment she heard her teacher taking his name before asking a question. "Aaron?!" she repeated in her mind, a name which she would never forget in her life. Elizabeth was surprised with his swift answer. His voice was deep and had a rich, silky tone which can attract people's interest. She witnessed him reading another book but still he was able to answer. Her curiosity grew as the clock ticked. She tried looking at him again by rolling her eyes but not moving her head even an inch. But her attempts went in vein. Aaron, who was beside her, lay down on the bench and closed his eyes facing her, which gave her a chance to have a look at him. Taking the opportunity she got, she looked at the person and was mesmerized by his looks. At first, she was curious to see him because of the girls and then because of the quick answer he gave to the teacher. But now she couldn't help herself from taking her eyes off of him even after thirty seconds had passed. Elizabeth felt her heart thud when he opened his eyes, she swiftly turned her head and started to pretend as if she was reading a book. She thanked the heavens that she was not caught by him. The teacher stopped her class a few minutes after the bell rang and left the classroom. The students started to make noise as soon as the teacher left. Elizabeth pretended to dig her bag and froze when she heard his voice, "Are you done looking at me now?"
She instantly closed her eyes. "He saw me looking at him. How embarrassing!! But why did he sound like he was trying to tease me?" she thought and slowly turned her head to look at him and opened her eyes to see him smile. Until the moment he spoke, she thought that Aaron didn't notice her, but little did she know that his entire focus was not on the book but her.
