Elizabeth took her seat, opposite to Aaron. While the food was being served in her plate, she stopped the servant from serving the food , "Serve for her," She directed the servant to serve the food for Roseline. "Why are you not eating?" Roseline asked her. "I had dinner with my friend," she replied, Aaron heard Roseline and Elizabeth's conversation, her reply irked him. He clearly knew the friend she was referring to.
"Eat quickly, we need to leave," Ryan said to Roseline.
"You didn't tell at home?," asked Elizabeth to her sister.
"I told that I was going to my friend's house to study," Roseline answered and avoided Elizabeth's eye contact with because Roseline knew that Elizabeth wouldn't like her doing something against her parents.
"You did well, it's good that you came to meet Elizabeth ," Roseline smiled to Aaron's words but Elizabeth was surprised that he took her name for the first time after their marriage and not only that, he was showing his gentle side which made her wonder, what made him to pretend to be nice in front of his cousin and her sister. After few seconds, he added by saying, "Ryan told me that you were worried about your sister being married to an unknown man," he said to Roseline but his eyes were at Elizabeth, he was telling to Roseline but his words were for Elizabeth. After listening to Aaron's words, she came to a conclusion that he was pretending to be calm and nice because he didn't want Roseline to worry about her. Aaron's attempt to make Roseline believe that everything is fine, made Elizabeth relief for some reason because, she didn't want her sister to keep worrying about her.
It was getting dark. After the dinner, Aaron instructed Ryan to drop Roseline home safely and to return to his home, as his mother was being tensed about him. At the same time, Roseline and Elizabeth were talking to each other, "I hope you move on, Elza. He is a nice man and I can tell that. Trust me,I'm sure he will take care of you, " Roseline said. Elizabeth had a faint smile on her face. Roseline kept her words short because she didn't want to talk much about her past love because according to her, her sister married another man.
As soon as they left, Elizabeth rushed to her room without even looking at Aaron. She stood in front of the mirror in the washroom. She looked at her red eyes. Roseline's words repeated in her mind. Her sister advised her to forget about her past love and be happy with the man she married. Her past and her present are connected to the same person. It was like she fell into his trap where she cannot even think to escape.
Aaron was laying on the bed when he saw Elizabeth coming out of the washroom. He sat on the bed when he saw her. "Why did you marry me?" she asked him furiously.
"Isn't that obvious that I married you to save your company?" Aaron sighed. But Elizabeth knew that, he had another reason or reasons to marry her. "Don't lie, I know that it is not because of the company," she voiced.
"Things won't change even if I tell you the truth Liz....You will be my wife, even if the truth come out," Elizabeth who was listening to him, heard him taking the name he gave her but he didn't let her name come out of his lips completely.
"Things won't change but at least I might stop having hopes that you still care for me and love me even if it is a bit ,"she said in tears.
His anger rose in his eyes to her reply which made him to answer to her question, "Love you?,not even in your dreams. If it wasn't for my grandfather, I wouldn't even want to look at your face even for a second," he sarcastically remarked.
Elizabeth didn't utter a word but stood still and saw him leaving to his study room in anger. Aaron went to his study room and sat on his chair. He wanted to take revenge, shouldn't he be happy to see her cry? But why is his heart aching to see her tears. Why is he angry at himself for making her cry? Why is he not able to erase the way Elizabeth held Liam's shirt from his mind? It made him feel uneasy since morning. He cancelled all his meetings and asked his assistant, Steve, to leave him alone in his cabin and to cancel all his appointments too. He kept thinking about the time they were together. On the day he married her and saw her neck, he couldn't bare to see her neck turn red, he knew that the girl would sleep without applying any ointment, hence he himself went to buy an ointment for her and applied it. Numerous times, he denied in his mind that he doesn't love her any more but he didn't understand why, is he feeling sad to see her tears and why he is not able to see her with another man.
