"You don't have patience, do you?" Roseline heard Ryan's chortle.
"I need to reach home early," she replied for him to tell the reason why he had asked her to wait for him at the gate after the school. "Speak. I'm waiting," she said when Ryan was not uttering a word but stood, taking the support of his bike.
"I never said that I wanted to tell you something," he said which made Roseline recollect his words.
" Damn it! He just told me to wait at the gate and nothing else. Why did I imagine things," she said in her mind.
"Okay, why did you ask me to wait?" Roseline asked him maintaining a composed face.
"If I ask you that I want to take you to a place, would you come with me?" he asked to see her eyes widen a little to his question.
"Why should I come with you?" she answered him with a question.
" Because I can answer your question only if you come along with me," he answered.
" What question?" Roseline looked at him quizzically.
" You'll know only if you come with me, Pretty Rose. Think and tell," he said and waited for her to give him an answer which he was expecting. After thinking for more than five minutes Roseline agreed to go along with him just like he had expected.
" But... On your bike?" she looked at his bike.
" Do we have any other option?" he replied with another question looking around.
"Why do you always have to answer me with unnecessary questions!" she said to him.
" And why do you always expect an answer from me to all your questions?" he looked at her eyes that were glaring at him and sighed deeply. "Take the helmet," he said wearing his gloves to change the atmosphere between them before it would turn into a cold argument.
" Where is yours?" she asked him softly after taking his helmet.
" I never had any need to carry a spare helmet with me. You are lucky because you are the first one to get on my bike, but looks like I need a new helmet for..... " he looked at her fingers nails that were pressing the edge of his helmet, "for me because I don't think you'll return it to me without damaging it," he laughed.
"Shutup," Roseline said and wore the helmet he gave her, after getting on his bike.
"Hold on to me," she heard him say to her after he started his bike.
"I won't," she responded and saw Ryan shrug to her response. The moment he raised his bike, she held his jacket for support and didn't notice the smirk that took over his face. "Should've listened to me," he remarked.
"Whatever!" she exclaimed and placed her hands on his shoulders after hesitating for a few seconds.
"Are you not going to tell me where we are heading to?"Roseline asked him in a loud voice .
"You will _ in _," Roseline could barely understand what he was trying to say due to the wind that was strongly blowing against them.
"What? I can't hear you clearly," she tried to be louder.
"I said, you will see it in a while," listening to Ryan's words, Roseline smiled for no reason and closed her eyes to feel the air when the last sun-rays of the day kissed the land.
A piece of melodious live music was being played to entertain the costumers and Elizabeth was enjoying it while Liam was busy talking to the waiter. He looked at Elizabeth after the waiter left taking the orders from him. He saw her indulge in the cozy music that was being played in front of her eyes.
"Do you like it?" Elizabeth heard Liam's voice. She looked at him puzzled for a second, "Oh! I'm sorry. The music was good and I was..."
"That's alright, you don't have to explain to me all the time, Elza," Liam came out with words before she could complete her sentence.
"I won it," he made his words short and saw her eyes turn wide with a mixed emotion of surprise and happiness.
"Are you serious? I'm so happy for you!" she cupped her face.
Liam could see her happiness right through her eyes which made him proud and happy.
"I wanted you to be the first person to know," Elizabeth felt bad that she couldn't take his call.
"I'm sorry," she apologized.
"Nah, it's a good thing that I told you in person rather than on the phone. Would've missed those cute expressions," Liam said. Elizabeth let out a laugh before asking, "When will you get a promotion?"
"I might... but not soon," he answered and saw her pouring a bottle of wine into her glass.
"Cheers to Prosecutor Winscet who won his fourth case in a short period," she saw Liam pouring a bottle of wine into his glass too.
"Rookie prosecutor," he corrected her to see her laugh.
"Cheers to the rookie Prosecutor," Elizabeth said raising her glass above her head.
Liam Winscet, sole heir of the Winscet's group, is a close friend and senior of Elizabeth in her school. Coming from a prestigious family, he was always under pressure. He was always told that he should be in the top position and lead his father's company in the future. But the handsome man was never interested in his father's business but wanted to become a prosecutor. After going against his father and coming out of his house, he faced many hurdles and struggles to become a prosecutor and achieved it by the age of twenty-nine.
When the waiter served the food and left them alone, Liam asked her about Aaron as he was concerned about his friend.
"How is everything with Aaron?" he observed a change in her face. The smile she had until now, was slowly fading.
"I don't know. Even though I married Aaron I feel... I feel like I loved one person and married another," her voice shivered a little when tears formed in her eyes.
"Is there anything you want to share," he tried consoling her. Elizabeth took out a tissue to wipe her tears before looking at Liam.
"Why do memories from the past haunt me and make me weak. I tried forgetting him but I couldn't," she tried controlling her tears.
"Memories don't haunt, they try to teach how to become a better person, Elza," Liam explained her.
"It's easy to say, Liam. I married the person I love the most but... but he hates me for no reason," she broke out in tears.
" Calm down Elza. He must be having his reasons which he couldn't tell you," she heard Liam supporting her husband.
" You know something, don't you? You always take his side," she asked him and saw him nod."I can't tell you, I'm sorry."
"But why? I might... I might correct things which I did. Even if we won't get back to normal at least he won't hate me," she said in broken words.
"It's not your mistake Elza and I am not going to tell you" Liam answered.
"Fine. Don't tell me, I'll go and ask him today," she said furiously and got up from her seat to leave. Liam leaned back to his chair and didn't even try to stop Elizabeth from leaving but sighed deeply thinking about the thing that happened years ago.
