Elizabeth woke up early in the morning. She pushed the blanket aside which covered her and got down from the bed when the sun rays fell on the doors of her balcony. She opened the doors to feel the air that blew through her hair. The birds on the trees were chirping not less than any melodious song. She caught the sight of a beautiful lake from where the bright sun appeared. The sky was filled with radiant colours as the sun was rising. If only time could halt at this moment, she thought to tuck her hair behind her ear.
The girl was indulged in the beauty of nature and didn't notice that there was someone whose gaze was fixed upon her. Aaron was on a phone call before Elizabeth opened the doors of the balcony. Elizabeth shifted her gaze to the place where he was standing. The sun's rays fell on her which made her skin shine bright in the early hour of this morning. They both stared at each other which didn't last for even a minute. Aaron left the place talking to the person on the phone while Elizabeth stood there motionless.
She looked around. The house which belonged to Aaron was in the vicinity of a beautiful lake. The house was simple, simple in a way she wanted. The colours of the wall and the bed covers were in her favorite color. The flowers in the vases which gave a classic Fragrance to the room were also her favorite. She didn't understand what the man was up to. He says that he disgusts her and leaves but comebacks to her to make her his wife and brings her to his house, a house just like he promised her when they were in their teens. A man like him was hard to understand not only for her but to everyone.
After coming out of the bath, an old maid came into the bedroom to call Elizabeth for breakfast, she asked the maid about Aaron.
"Does your young master like the blue colour?" Elizabeth asked the old maid.
"I do not know madam," the maid replied politely.
"Why don't you ask me directly," came Aaron's voice from the door. Aaron signed with his hand at the maid to leave the room. Elizabeth was stiffened as he approached her.
"Do you not know which colour I like Lizzy?" he whispered into her ear. His whisper tickled her leading her heart beat faster than usual. This man has always targeted at her weakness. He knew that his whisper was her weakness. He was sure that she was out of words with his whisper but Elizabeth who understood his intention this time wanted to prove him wrong.
"I know about the guy who loved me eight years ago but not about the cunning man who doesn't care about people's feelings and takes advantage of people to fulfill his selfish deeds," She replied curtly looking into his eyes and noticed his devilish smirk grew brighter.
" Huh!! Are you provoking me, sweetheart ?" Aaron huffed.
"Think whatever you want. I don't care," She answered not breaking her eye contact with him.
She didn't want to be a weak soul and be a puppet in his hands. It was being hard for her to look at him but she didn't want his ego and arrogance to win over her. Their eye contact broke when Elizabeth's phone rang. Aaron checked his head to see her phone.
"Liam Winscet!," Aaron spelled the name which appeared on her phone screen. Elizabeth took her phone to put it in silent mode.
"What? aren't you gonna accept your knight's call? He might feel bad, " he sounded sarcastic.
"That's out of your concern," She said and took her bag with her to leave but he stopped her grasping her wrist with one hand and pushed her hair softly behind to see her neck. The redness was now disappeared. "Have breakfast with me," She heard Aaron's voice and looked at him quizzically.
"It's our first day as a married couple, I don't want others to think that we are not on good terms the very next day of our marriage," he said and saw Elizabeth nod in agreement after thinking for few seconds.
They both got down the stairs together. There was a tiny smile on his face looking at his wife from the back. The servants noticed his subtle smile struck his lips when the tips of her hair touched his face. He was never the kind of a man who would care about what people think, the man was always least bothered about the people around him. He had his ways of dealing with things and people.
The food was severed when the couple sat at the dining table to have their breakfast. The peaceful atmosphere was ruined when her phone vibrated for the second time but Elizabeth turned off the vibrate mode immediately. Her actions were not missed by the man who was seated opposite her. Elizabeth looked at him who was already observing her.
"Why is everything the way I like in this house? " She questioned him. His eyes were fixed on the phone screen and the name that appeared on it.
" Looks like someone is desperate to talk to my wife early in the morning," Aaron commented taking a spoonful of food into his mouth.
