The child grabbed the meat out of Gordans hand and ravenously began eating the meat, Gordan kept handing the child piece after piece of meat which was quickly eaten up by the child.
After a couple of minutes he stopped with the assembly line and watched the child finish the last peice of meat.
"Man this dude must be a monster if he starves his own people this much."
The child looked up at him rather defensively.
"You're one to talk, you took out one of his most loyal people without hesitation, we heard all about it back at the castle."
The child was very matter o' fact about the whole thing, as though it was obvious that Gordan was the villain in this situation.
Gordan frowned and rolled the egg over in his hand, it hadn't changed any further which was almost frustrating but he had no time to dwell on that, now that he had this child talking he needed to get some more information from her.
"So then in your opinion, what kind of person is the master?"
It was a simple question, but Gordan had a small suspicion that all of the subordinates of this person were alittle fanatic. But Gordan had the feeling that something was alittle off about how this situation had gone down. If this master person was so dead set on killing the village he doubted that he would have instructed his servant to give them an hour to find peace to pass on. His actions were in Gordans opinion rather conflicted.
The child started to smile broadly, as one does when talking about something that one truly enjoys.
"He is kind and generous, and views all of his summons as equal, regardless of their potential."
She continued on talking about the master until, she suddenly stopped talking and looked at him.
"Hey that wasn't very nice, you were trying to distract me from my mission of killing you, weren't you?"
She looked rather upset but Gordan who had been listening intently while absently feeding the egg handed her a piece of meat.
"Perish the thought, I am merely curious about an individual that inspires such devotion."
She took the piece of meat and munched on it alittle annoyed. After hearing about the master from his subordinate to even a small degree, Gordan was even more confused as to why the person would try and cause such geniside without any discernable reason.
After the child had finished her meat she stood to her feet.
"I have delayed in my mission long enough, thank you for the meal it was delicious, but now I must kill you for the sake of my master."
The child pulled out a small knife which looked to be coated in some kind of poison. The child fell into a stance and got ready to strike, but Gordan just sat perfectly still. The child disappeared from sight and readied herself to attack, having talked to the person put her at a disadvantage since he now knew that she was trying to kill him. The master had said that he was a priority target, but for some reason she had felt compelled to speak to him for some reason.
She shook her head trying to rid herself of what ever things might potentially get in the way of her resolve. Even if she was alittle bit bothered since he had just given her food to eat, and in her understanding people who gave her food were usually fairly nice.
She ran forward to strike but the person was no longer there, confused she looked around to see where he could have hidden, she looked around but he was nowhere in sight, she couldn't hear or smell him either which was extremely troubling, since it was the most important aspect of her job in the first place.
Gordan came up behind the child and leaned over next to her ear.
"Boo"
The child jumped three feet into the air coming down on all four legs like a cat.
"Now that's not very nice, but then again I guess that it wasn't very nice of me either, but did you really have to resort to violence? I've already had a rather trying day, at this point being assassinated just wouldn't do."
The child was still breathing heavily as Gordan spoke to her casually, he was at this time walking around in a bit of a pacing motion as he did so the child noticed that he seemed to have a bit of a limp since his foot was dragging on the ground. She steeled herself, right now she had a job to do and she needed to just do her job.
Again she activactivated her skill shadow world, and raced forward in order to finish off her target but right before her knife made contact she felt something grab the back of her neck and throw her down mid-flight, she expected to hit the ground but instead landed on something soft and almost nonexistent.
Gordan had taken advantage of the child's surprise to form a bit of a circle as he paced back and forward, of course she wouldn't have been able to see it if she had been looking for it since at the expense of his guts he used a bit of magic which was almost untraceable to form the circle in the dirt under the grass. When the girl attacked again he waited for the last second and grabbed her neck and gently placed her in the circle. She looked around confused at the grass which was disappearing around her, then she herself began to disappear.
"Well miss. Mara it was a pleasure to have made your aquantince this evening, I hope that our next meeting will be a more pleasant one."
Gordan bowed slightly to her and smiled just the smallest bit making the child named Mara to lose consciousness almost instantly.
=Sigh=
Gordan didn't like having to deal with the pain of using magic very much since it could have rather long lasting effects. Gordan coughed up a small amount of blood and frowned looking at it. How much blood had he lost? Something didn't seem right, he had regained his injuries as soon as he had left his mind but that wasn't the problem, the problem was that when he regained the injures he really understood how bad they were.
Even with the healing that he had received it was still quite bad especially after he had used magic twice in a row. He needed to be careful or he might not make it to the end of the five years fully intact. Looking around him to make sure no one had seen he quickly kicked up the dirt that the circle was to hide the evidence.
He leaned over holding onto his knees, the pain in his guts was getting worse, he needed to find a safe place to heal up. The abnormal amount of blood that he had lost made him even more stressed out, he shouldn't have survived that but here he was still very much alive.
The time slipped by slowly as he stood there hunched over next to the fire not even taking time to think, his head was pounding and the bandages were making that fact much worse. Gordan used one of his hands to unravel the cloth on his head which made the pain alittle more bearable. He gently felt the place were his scull had been damaged but it was patched up rather nicely, which was a relief as that ment he wouldn't have to much trouble by not wearing the bandage in the first place.
After removing the bandage on his head he slowly straightened himself up to his full height.
=sigh=
"Well guess I should go find somewhere to sleep for now."
His eyes were slightly glazed over but he was still making sure that he kept a hold if the egg in his hand. Sending the child back to her home had taken quite a bit out of him and he needed sleep, regardless of how he felt about oversleeping.
He felt like he could now appreciate the people that he had encountered who coveted sleep above all things felt, well at least to a small degree. If they had heard his thoughts they would have thought it almost blasphemous that a person such as himself could ever even partially grasp the Joy's of sleeping.
Gordan almost laughed to himself but he was a bit too tired to do anything of that kind at the moment. He figured that the thing that the master dude had sent would be at the village in a day or two depending on how fast it kept its average speed. So he needed to find a place that would accommodate this need.
He slowly walked through the dark village looking for a good place to sleep, only vaguely noticing the pair of eyes watching him from the rooftops.
