Chapter 25 - Realization

"Good, then we can talk later. Before I go is their anything that you need since it might take me a bit of time to call everyone back."

Gordan nodded his head and smiled.

"Well actually it would be nice to get a change of clothes since the ones that I'm wearing aren't exactly in mint condition."

Gordan indicated his clothes which were still the same tattered ones that he had been wearing for over a week now. Leech's mom saw what he ment, she wondered what had happened to the clothes that he was wearing since they were full of holes, but she didn't really think that she should pry into what had happened to him before meeting her son.

"Would you also like to take a bath? I rather doubt you've had one in awhile."

Her saying that came out a lot ruder than she had intended, but Gordan didn't really seem to care, infact he actually seemed to be in agreement with her.

"Well it actually has been a bit of time, but I guess it couldn't be helped, after all I haven't really done much of anything like that in a month or two now."

It was a common practice for most people to take a bath every day, so the fact that he hadn't taken one in a couple of mouths made Leech's mom think that he must have been in a situation were he wasn't able to take one, which could mean many things, though she was surprised that he didn't really smell all that bad.

Noticing her expression Gordan sighed, he enjoyed a good bath as much as the next person, it had been one of the many rules that he had been forced to deal with as a child. And among them it was one of the rules that he really didn't mind all that much.

"Well I can show you where the bathhouse is and supply you with a change of clothes."

Gordan fallowed Leech's mother as she led him through the maze of buildings, first they stopped by a storage building not unlike the one that Leech had led Gordan to for the paint. This building however seemed to store fabric and supplies of a similar nature.

Leech's mom showed him to several bins each with a different kind of clothing. Gordan saw a small stamp on one of the bins which was the world trade stamp as well as a small personalized stamp below it. Gordan recognized the stamp below, and turned toward Leech's mother.

"Are those clothes manufactured around here?"

She looked at him dead on and frowned.

"Yes we manufacture them right here, it's our most profitable source of income here."

=Sigh=

Gordan looked down at the pile of clothes and then up at Leech's mother.

"This village wouldn't happen to be located in the forest of four would it?"

She nodded looking confused, didn't he know were he was?

Gordan put his head in his right hand and sighed. To think that he would get sent to a location on the other side of the world from where he had started at the execution, he didn't know how to handle such basic information. while he had never been to the wood portion of the forest he had experienced the first two layers of the forest long ago, and it wasn't a memory that he liked to recall.

The forest of four was as it's name implied split into four sections: winter, summer, fall, and spring. While the names were based on the four seasons they were more twisted and distorted versions of the seasons themselves, the spring section was most commonly known as the mildest of the four seasons, but it could also be the most unpredictable.

Gordan was racking his brain for any information that he could remember about the forest's composition while he was pulling out random pieces of clothing that were about his size.

Leech's mother was starting at him as he mindlessly went through the clothes pulling out random pieces of clothes as his eyes moved at about a mile a minute as though he was inspecting every inch of the design. But somehow it seemed like he wasn't actually looking at the clothes at all, it was like his mind was years away from his body. She just shrugged her shoulders as he pulled out the last piece of cloth and turned toward her. She could now see his eyes full on, and they were glassy and glazed over, if she had to describe how it looked it was almost like a dead fish.

Gordan was processing over all of the data that he had accumulated on the forest of four, from both personal experiences as well as information that he had picked up through indirect sources such as people or books. One thing that he was sure of was that this was the very edge of the forest, since it was far to tame to be any further in the forest. He wanted to kick himself for not realizing about the trees which should have clued him in since it was something that he knew already. He blamed his head trauma for that, but there was only so much one could blame on head trauma. After all maybe it was just that he was getting a bit soft with age. That thought was a bit worrisome since becoming lax could lead to his death quite easily.

Gordan quietly fallowed Leech's mother to where the bathhouse was and thanked her before stepping inside to clean himself up.

Gordan was starting to add up some other things that he had gone through, he realized that Zero couldn't know where he was, and would have to assume that he was fine since his appearance at the time of their meeting was different then what the actual situation was. He had realized that there really wouldn't be a real way to tell how or where a person was through the dream world. With that thought in mind Gordan's mind began to turn as he wondered over the different possibilities that could come from the information that he now had.

Even if the forest wasn't a place that he wanted to ever return to he couldn't deny the fact that it was full of resources that could prove to be useful to him. And it would also make sense why someone would want to get rid of all of the inhabitants of the outermost region of the forest since it was the gate to untold riches.

Gordan slowly took a bath thinking about this and then got dressed before he finally snapped out of his trance to see that he was already dressed and ready to head out.

"Well that's annoying."

Gordan had been looking forward to that bath, but now it was over and he didn't even remember taking it.

=Sigh=

"Well that's what I get for zoning out like that for so long."

Gordan had removed the rest of the bandages and piled both them and the ragged clothes in a neat little pile, which he picked up. As he was doing so the fabric began to disappear in front of his eyes until all that was left was the small egg. Gordan had forgoten about it mostly since last night, after everything had happened so quickly, mabye he really was getting to lax. Gordan looked down at the egg which had gotten a bit sharper around the edges, and was even forming small points on the sides.

It was an odd thing to Gordan who had never read about anything like it before. He put it into his pocket and walked out the door, he had to worry about that after he found out what it was that Leech's mom wanted from him.
