Leech opened his mouth to speak but he just couldn't, he stared at Gordan without blinking for almost a minute before finally remembering what he had been doing for the last hour of his life.
"Where have you been, I've been looking everywhere for you?"
Leech sprang to his feet looking at Gordan for a responce.
"You know that I am an injured person right? Isn't it usual for someone whose injured to sleep in a safe location in order to prevent being injured, especially when one is in an unfamiliar place alone?"
Gordan cracked his neck and yawned, now that he was awake he felt like his body was a bit lighter than it had been the day before.
Leech stared at him, wondering where Gordan could have possibly been sleeping. With the entire village looking for him, he didn't see how Gordan could have evaded all of their notices.
"So what did you need me for anyway?"
Gordan was looking at Leech who seemed to be staring off into nothingness. He waved his hand in front of his face in order to gain his attention, making Leech flinch.
"What?"
Gordan put his hand on his forehead and sighed.
"Hey kid you got any paint I can use?
Leech. looked alittle confused as to why Gordan could possibly want paint, but he just nodded his head in a daze and led Gordan to a supply room filled with various jars of paint. It was the artist storage house, but no one had been there for some time so everything was covered in dust.
Gordan desided that he would wait to see what it was that Leech needed since it didn't seem to be important enough to remember at the moment. And at this point he wanted to deal with the problem which was his smile. He had always found that applying a bit of paint stopped people from being as effected by his face. He hadn't expected for Leech to just take him to a location without explanation, but he assumed that it was becouse he was just dazed or something.
"Thanks, now if you don't mind I'll only be a couple of minutes, if you wait outside for a minute I would appreciate it greatly."
Gordan gently pushed Leech out of the door and shut it gently behind him. Leech thought that he must have been quite tired since he wasn't able to fully prosses what had just transpired. Thinking about it he wondered why he had brought Gordan to the old painters storage building. Why hadn't he done as he was supposed to, and tell Gordan that he needed to go to the council room emedeatly, and now he was sitting outside of a storage building while Gordan did who knows what in the building.
Gordan surrounded by paints carefully selected white, black, blue, and a nice grey. After that he took several brushes from a stand and after cleaning them he stood in front of a small mirror on the wall and began to paint a base design that he was comfortable with. Gordan found painting to be almost second nature since for most of his missions that he had preformed in years gone by he had come up with over 300 separate designs for camouflage, it had been one of the major reasons why when the new king had called for his execution he had instructed that terrible paint job.
=Sigh=
Just thinking about the design made Gordan tired, he switched his thoughts back to his paint job which was coming together rather nicely. He removed the bandage on his forehead and noticed that it was thankfully healed up enough that the bandage was no longer necessary. He quickly painted over the area after he had pulled back his hair with the bandage like a headband.
Once the job was done he inspected his new look. He had a white brace mixed with grey to create the effect of shadows, using the black he outlined his eyelids, eyebrows, and lips. After that he filled in his eyebrows and lips with a dark blue, and as a little flare he added a small design in the left side of his face. For a rushed job it looked rather nice to him, so using just the smallest amount of magic he dried the paint onto his face to prevent smudging.
He smiled at the mirror which thankfully stayed intact, Gordan then quickly cleaned up the mess and put away the tools. As he had finished up the penalty came into effect, his left arm went totally limp.
For using such a small amount it was a rather steep price but it would be a shorter timeframe than if he used a larger amount.
Gordan opened the door and looked down to see that Leech had fallen asleep next to it. Gordan picked him up by his collar and put him over his shoulder. He didn't find in nesisary to wake the tired child, but he also had no desire to sit next to the door for the rest of the day. He wanted to explore his surroundings alittle bit more, but he guessed that he should go to the clinic first to drop off Leech.
When he reached the clinic he heard alot of commotion and a crowd of people going back and forth in long lines, so he just got into line as well. He tapped the shoulder of the person in front of him who turned around abruptly.
"Excuse me but what's the status of the situation at this point?"
The person didn't even seem to notice Gordans appearance which made him smile to himself.
"So far as I know we still haven't found the guy yet, which is quite distressing since we've been at this for over a hour I don't even know if the person is here anymore. Though I did here that one of the scouts found some nasty remains outside of the village..."
Gordan was quite happy about having someone who talked so freely, and also seemed to be oblivious to the fact that Gordan was holding a child over his shoulder. The person fully updated him in the progress of the 'man hunt' in order to ask the stranger some questions.
Once it was Gordans turn he stepped into the semi dark room Where Leech's mother was sitting at a desk pouring over a map of the village and it's surroundings.
"What news do you have?"
She didn't even bother looking up to see who it was before speaking, but then again she was quite exhausted after staying up all night in the counsel after learning of the doom which was on it's way to their village.
"Oh nothing much, I just came to drop off a sleeping child, ruff night huh? You should think about getting some sleep, you might end up burning yourself out."
She jerked up her head at the voice that she had heard the night before, but then squinted as she saw the change in his appearance.
"What's with the paint."
She said it without thinking, it was the last thing that she should have said since she had other more important things to talk about.
"Do you like it? I thought it might help lighten the mood alittle, since you know yesterday people were kind of leaning toward calling for blood if you know what I mean."
He smiled at her and she didn't even flinch which made his smile get even broader. It was nice to not have to worry about something like his smile.
=Sigh=
"Sorry about that people here tend to jump to unnecessary conclusions. Anyway I have a favor to ask of you would you mind listening?"
Gordan set down Leech and looked at her dead on.
"Don't you think that it might be alittle bit more appropriate if you called off the search before we get into a discussion?"
Leech's mom nodded her head in agreement and held out her hand to him which he easily accepted.
"Well then I guess we can finish this conversation later than."
