Gordan took a sip of the tea and instantly all of the mental stress that he had been under faded away in an instant, well a bit more than and instant since he had quite a bit of it.
After he settled down he refocused his eyes to stare at Jean who had started to shake his head back and forth, Gordan found this slightly odd but decided to ignore it since it really didn't matter all that much. Jean cleared his throat and began.
"Before I ended up here I was a necromancer who dabbled in summoning."
Gordan just nodded in understanding like it was the most natural thing to him.
Necromancers were usually frowned upon and even shunned due to their dealings with corpses. Gordan on the other hand didn't mind that sort of thing since as long as they weren't against him he didn't care who or what one was, with of course the exception of leeches which were completely unforgivable.
Jean was surprised by the lack of reaction from Gordan but he desided that it was a rather good surprise feeling to him since usually people were much more aggressive when they figured out what his occupation was.
"I usually spent most of my time in my castle researching and spending time with my family. They were always so supportive of me no matter what I did, they were always there for me when I needed them and gave me my space as well... I miss them so much."
Jean was starting to get alittle bit emotional thinking about his family.
"Do you know what it's like to be without them?
Family that is."
Gordan stared at Jean for a minute processing how to respond to that question, personally he had been overjoyed when he never had to see their faces again but he wasn't about to tell this person that. After a minute he nodded his head to show his 'understanding' of how Jean felt.
=sniff=
"Sorry but after twenty years I get alittle bit emotional whenever I think about my family."
Jean wiped a tear away and tried to calm himself down. Gordan just stared at him with a blank and truly unfeeling expression. The first thing that came to his head when he thought about his family was the leech farm that he had been forced to take care of.
Jean pulled himself together in order to continue, he happened to look up and see Gordans eyes which looked as blank as his expression. Jean guessed that he might not have had the best relationship with his family.
"Well anyway as I was saying, i didn't really get out of hy house very much and my contact with strangers was very small. And then one day I was given an official order from the king of my country saying that my assistants was needed at the castle emidiatly."
He paused to take another sip of the calming tea to help his hands to stop shaking, even after twenty years the memory was to fresh.
"When I arrived at the castle I was instructed to summon a hero for the country since they were about to be attacked by a large group of monsters that were threatening to destroy the kingdom. So naturally I completed the task without question."
Gordan knew better than to think that was the end of the story, so he merely took another sip of tea and sat back in his chair, still keeping eye contact with Jean.
"Without question? I'm going to assume things didn't go all that well."
Gordan mumbled this under his breath as Jean paused to get himself under control. Jean didn't hear Gordan since he was having a hard enough time just dealing with his past trauma.
=Sigh=
Gordan reached out his arm and patted Jean's which made him flinch.
"Don't worry about it if you can't tell me then you can't tell me, don't push yourself."
Jean nodded and took another drink of tea, he just couldn't continue, now that all of the information that he had almost forgotten had come rushing into his head his anger was being to grow. He looked up at Gordan apologetically and then stopped.
"Are you okay? What's happening?"
Gordan looked down at his hands and noticed that they were starting to go out of focus. Gordan hit his head with one of his hands, he was feeling rather exhausted all of the sudden. He looked up at Jean who seemed to be freaking out, but again he was getting quite exhausted mostly mentally though, but he supposed that had something to do with him being in his mind and therefore he really couldn't exert himself physically.
"Don't worry about it I just need to sleep for a bit."
Gordan's eyelids were starting to drop slowly, Jean could just sit there and watch as his guest disappeared. For a couple of moments he just sat there wondering what was going on, but now all he could do was sit and worry about the one known as Gordan and what could have happened to him.
Gordan woke with a start the first thing that he noticed was that his eyesight was back and that the sun was already out, and the second thing he noticed was someone calling out his name. Gordan rubbed his eyes, yawned, and stretched his arms, once he had finished loosening up he looked over the side of the ledge where he had been sleeping and saw that Leech was under the cliff face looking for any sign of him while calling out his name. Gordan was extremely tired and felt like he hadn't slept in the slightest, but thankfully it seemed like his body had gotten enough rest if not his mind. He could see several problems arising from not getting any sleep at night.
Gordan dangled his hand over the side of the outcropping supporting his head with his other hand. He watched the child while he started to wake himself up, the kid looked a bit frantic but Gordan didn't really feel like talking so he just lay there.
After looking for an hour Leech fell to the ground at the base of the cliff to take a small break before continuing. The entire village was looking for Gordan thanks to his mother, who was freaking out that her patient had disappeared after they left him alone to deal with the spy in their village, it had been an hour ago after finally coming out of the meeting area that they realized that he was missing.
Leech was quite worried about him since his mother had said that he seemed to have some rather nasty internal injuries, and since he had been the one to find the spy now the chief wanted to speak to him for some reason, furthering the size of the search party.
Looking up at the sky Leech wondered what the deal had been last night, his mother had made him attend the meeting but he fell asleep part way through so he didn't retain anything whatsoever.
=Sigh=
He knew he needed to get back to searching or else he might get yelled at, he closed his eyes in concentration. Suddenly he heard a thudding sound directly behind him and looked up to see Gordan looking down on him.
"Really aren't you a bit young to be sighing like an old man?"
