As soon as Zero disappeared a crack began to form in the horizon. Gordan wondered how the illusion held together in the first place. Holding the egg gently in his hand he walked over to the lantern and placed it on the egg, which quickly absorbed it in an instant. Gordan thought that the speed might have something to do with the fact that this was all summoned in his mind.
Gordan didnt even stop to think about the things that he had heard, instead he began to feed the egg everything he could get ahold of of until he felt a sharp pain in his head. He looked down at the egg and saw that its shape was starting to change ever so slightly, it was now just the slightest bit sharper than it had been before. Gordan didnt really get it, but if it was already changing that ment that he would have to change it significantly if he wanted it to be worth anything when it was to hatch, since Zero had told him that the results could differ given what he put into the egg.
He had the feeling that Zero hadn't given him all of the information that was available to him, but the just chalked that up to the fact that Zero had told him at the beginning of the conversation that he might not be able to answer all of his questions, Gordan guessed that there were just some things that he would have to learn, those things as he went through with the games. Zero had given him a large amount of useful information that he could use to his advantage later down the line, and even an instructor. Overall he thought that the meeting had been rather beneficial to him, he also now had someone that he actually knew that was related to the games, and that made him slightly more comfortable with the situation.
He noticed that the crack in the horizon was starting to grow and the center of it was starting to crumble into dust. It was a rather sad scene to Gordan, who had enjoyed the peaceful environment, he had also quite enjoyed the tea that he had enjoyed just minutes before.
=Sigh=
Gordan stopped feeding the egg and sat down in the grass, he knew that he needed to return to reality, he didnt know how long he had been in this place but given what the situation had been when he last knew it, he had the feeling that being away from the situation for to long might even result in his death. Not knowing exactly how to exit the location he decided to try the method that Zero had given him to enter the space.
Gordan laid back, breathing deeply looking at the crumbling sky.
=sigh=
"I guess it's just how things are, nice things just can't last forever."
He raised up his hand to the artificial sky that was quickly being replaced by darkness. and uttered out that small statement. He remembered something that he had been told many years ago by a dying soldier. 'If only I had been able to see the night sky in all of its glory, but now it's just to late.' Gordan would always think about that when he looked up at the sky, was this the scene that the soilder had seen as his vision had slowly faded to black? It was an emptiness that made Gordan feel as small in the world as he actually was. In the grand scheme of things he had only ever been a cog in a machine, over the years many stood beside him, but they would all fade out in time, sometimes he couldn't help feeling just a tiny bit lonely becouse of that.
He heard the triumphant screams of the mist coming forward as the wall of light failed under its continuous onslaught. Gordan watched and wondered what drove the mist to keep on no matter what, he had questioned that about himself in the past as well. He slowly closed his eyes on the world that was crumbling into darkness and let everything fade to blackness, the feeling was extraordinary, it was almost like he was falling through tangible darkness. Something about the feeling of nothing at all was so intriguing to him.
And then he was again next to the bonfire, which was still burning, other than that the entire clearing was empty, Gordan sat up and wondered why they had left the fire on since it could possibly be quite a problem if it got out of control, but what they did with their village was what they did with their village, just as long as he didnt get injured because of that he didn't mind.
Gordan crossed his legs and put his back to the fire to warm it alittle since he had slept facing the fire as he had been 'sleeping' so now he was alittle cold. As he sat there with the fire at his back he noticed that he was holding the small egg in his hand still, which brought back the crumbling world to his mind. He wondered why the sight of it crumbling made him frown, he had only been there for a small time but it was already a bittersweet memory to him.
Gordan plucked a small blade of grass and placed it on the egg, slowly the blade of grass dissolved into the surface of the egg, as he had suspected it took a bit longer for the blade of grass to be absorbed. He began absently feeding the egg what ever he could get his hands on and began to notice that it the egg absorbed some things faster than others, but he wasn't sure if that was becouse some things were easier to absorb or because it preferred the taste more. It was something that he would look into if he ended up having free time anywhere in the near future.
Gordan was brought back from his absence of mind by someone approaching him from the side, Gordan pretended to not notice the figure and kept feeding the egg, occasionally eating a piece of meat.
The figure sat down across from him and just stared at him for awhile which he just ignored, he didnt feel the need to engage someone just become they sat down in front of him. He didnt even bother looking up.
"Are you the guy that they brought in with the boar-bear?"
=sigh=
Gordan had been half hoping that the person would just stay silent and then leave but now he had to engage in a conversation. He looked up at the person and answered shortly.
"Yes"
He didn't feel like talking at the moment, but if he had to he could make his answers as short as he could. The person that was sitting in front of him was a young girl who looked to Gordan like she might be younger than Leech. She looked like she was alittle underweight which bothered him alittle, but also made him speak even though he didn't really want to.
"And you are?"
The young girl started to smile showing her teeth which were razor sharp. Gordan just sat there without reacting.
"My name is Mara and I have been sent by the master to kill you."
Gordan pulled a piece of meat off of the spit and handed it to the child.
"That's nice, now eat something, you look like you're about to starve."
