Chapter 18 - The Game

Also, there will probably be a miniature arc of Ronan playing the game maybe around 10-15 chapters long, but only after the game has explained in a lot of detail but this probably won't be until the 100-125 chapter mark.

Ronan updated the game, everything was set and the game was released, for now it only had 3 servers located around the world, 1 in Europe, 1 in the US and 1 in Asia, it wasn't hard for Ronan to set these up but the translations for the Asian server aren't up to scratch, he'll have to find someone to do that for him later, Ronan played the game for a few hours before going to sleep.

The next day Ronan woke up late, instead of going for a run he didn't have the time, he needed to attend a lecture and then he would view the progress on his game, he also had to constantly think of various ideas for to improve the game.

After the lecture, Ronan strolled back to his room while checking his game.

It had 10k downloads and it had only been a day, but that's not surprising with the amount of advertising Ronan has done, especially since he was using some of his ad space for his messaging app.

Ronan played the game for a couple of hours, he had noticed some major things that could be added, for example, right now they have a guild vs guild war system, it was an arena-type mode, best of 3 and it has various modes, such as 10v10, 5v5, 3v3, 1v1, the max being 20v20, the problem was the war system itself, it wasn't really a war more like an arena and it was ranked that way.

Ideally, Ronan would like to change it, but that can't really happen yet, it alone would've added on at least a month or so.

Ronan started a list and on top of it was the new guild war system, he had it planned out with several updates, first would be territory, in the game, there are several kingdoms each kingdom consists of several tens of cities, each city has around 3-10 towns under each town is around 4-5 villages, these village/towns/cities cannot be controlled as of yet, they are controlled by NPCs but one of the updates Ronan wants to make the town and cities controllable, that alone would be one update, the second update that he would have to make would be permissions, nobility, ranks, etc. these will be based on a merit system, kill people of rival guilds, enemy countries, join events etc. next would be a major update to the lifestyle system, currently there are only a few areas where you can grind for materials in the game, and this needs to be expanded by several times, together, this update will provide an overhaul for the crafting system, more items and equipment to craft.

Finally, the biggest update, controlling kingdoms, kingdom are structures like Cities>Towns>Villages for now, but with this update, cities/towns will be upgradable, not villages yet, but possibly in the future.

With this update, many things within a kingdom will change, currently, the kingdoms aren't divided into anything, its just one kingdom, nothing else, but with this update everything changes, kingdoms will be divided into provinces, each province will have a capital city, the richest, most populated city will become the capital city for the kingdom, the capital city for a kingdom can only be changed once every 3 months.

Towns and cities can be changed, if a city becomes poorer and less populated than a town then the town will be promoted into a city and the city will be demoted, of course, that's all that will happen, except for a few new options the town/city leader can make, same goes for province capitals, they are ranked from 2-10, or however many provinces that kingdom has.

That was the first part of the update the second would be a new feature, Kingdom Creation, a guild that has control of 1 province capital, 1 city and 1 town will be able to create a kingdom, they can choose a name for the kingdom, also as part of this update the guild member limit would go from 50 to 200, with further upgrade possible, the more 'strongholds' they have the more members they can have, a guild's level will also impact the number of members they can have, also included in this update would be Seizing The Throne, if a guild owns the capital city of a kingdom then they will be able to challenge the king, the king and his NPC army would fight against your guild and if you want to share the benefits, your ally guilds for the throne, when a guild takes the throne they would control the kingdom, but they would lose all relations with the current ministers, which would restrict what they can do with the kingdom, then to earn the ministers trust and loyalty they would have to complete quests for the ministers, earning them more and more permissions within the kingdom, such as changing the tax level, building an NPC army, build new towns/cities, villages come free and fighting other kingdoms for resources, land and prestige.

The final part of the update is the largest, Empire Building, an empire can only be built if you have at least 1 kingdom in your control and all the ministers of that country have sworn loyalty to you, then you can build an empire, the emperor will not be a single person but rather several people, the guild who owns the kingdom will have to select 9 people to be rulers, they will rule the empire equally, its is mandatory that 5 people be from the ruling guild, while the other 4 will be able to take advisory roles and can be from ally guilds, any issue, building, edict, etc. has to be run by the 9 rulers, if a ruler doesn't play the game for 14 days then he will be demoted and the ruling guild will have to select another person to fill in the role, the 9 rulers will have a vote on anything they want to happen, 5 people need to vote for it to go through, as you can see having 9 means there isn't a possiblity for a deadlock, empires also come with various positons, such as prime minister and they will have to be selected from the various officials of the kingdoms the ruling guild owns, not from an ally guild, empire can also create more kingdoms but they need to have 2 Province Cities, Cities and Towns, also included in this update will be the officials system, making it possible to change the officials, NPC officials will have various traits making them good at some things while bad at others and a king/emperor will be able to change officials by demoting them and promoting others, this is only possible once the relationship between king and offical is neutral, a king can also improve an official's stats making them better although the specific stats officials can have aren't yet solid and can be changed, finally, the last part of this update will add siege weapons, guilds would be able to make siege weapons to use in sieges against other kingdoms/guilds and destrucable terrain/buildings so damage actually appears instead of just standard numbers and loss of health points, the terrain will be reset at midnight every day, but the buildings/castles/walls etc. will all have to be repaired either by NPC craftmen, the guilds craftsmen or you can hire independant craftsmen, either way the game wont repair it for free.
