Jake set Ronan up with a lawyer called Steve, Steve was a world-renown lawyer, his win percentage was 95%, there were only a few lawyers which could be considered better than him around the world and most of them required 4 or 5x his fee.
But that doesn't matter for Ronan because he doesn't have to pay for the fees until the case is finished and the case would take roughly 3-4 months after all the other side has to gather all the information they need then there's court that they would have to attend, several arguments, maybe some deals, etc.
Steve didn't get in contact with Ronan for 2 days, he probably had something better to do with his time.
"Hello?" Ronan's phone rang, it was an unknown number so Ronan left it until he finished writing the line of code then answered it.
"So, you decided to pick it up." The person on the other end of the phone had a deep voice, still unidentified to Ronan.
"And this is?" Ronan asked.
"I'm Steve, the guy whose going to get you money. Or at least you wanted money right?" Steve was as straight forward as the rest of them.
"Oh, so what do you need from me? Want me to send you all the files I have or something else?" Ronan asked several questions.
"Well, I'll need that eventually, though I do need to meet you, I won't take your case if you have some kind of ulterior motive." Steve was wary about the people who he takes as clients.
"Sure, what time are you available?"
"Anytime, I only take 1 case at a time, if you want me to take your case then you need to get in line, that or know someone who is my friend in that case you can just skip the queue, unless the next person in the queue cannot wait, like a person getting the death penalty or someone who is terminally ill and might not make it." Steve explained more than he needed to.
"Oh, what about today?" Ronan was free anytime, he could skip lectures since he knew how to complete his course work and his apps were made by him so he could just get back to it at any time anyway.
"Sure, choose a location and a time." Steve replied.
"Ok, I'll come to your office in around 1 hour?" Ronan said while making it sound like a question.
"Sure, I'm in most of the time anyway, also bring a copy of the information on a USB stick." Steve said.
"Ok." They said there goodbyes before Ronan hung up and searched for a memory stick, it took him several minutes to find one big enough, although the files are relatively small in size when added together it consumes quite the chunk of space.
Ronan headed out of his dorm with his USB in hand, he took a taxi, the ride was roughly 35 minutes.
He arrived outside of Steve's office, Steve bought his office space from the building owner, he had rented it for over 5 years before he convinced the owner to sell it to him.
Ronan knocked on the door to Steves Office, he didn't have a company name on his door, it was plain, Ronan would've missed it if he didn't ask next door for Steve, judging from the attitude from them its obvious that it had happened multiple times before.
"Hello, I'm Ronan." Ronan said through the door, he didn't hear anyone on the other side so he assumed that Steve mustn't have heard him.
"I'm not in yet, you see that sign which says closed all the way to the right? That's mine." Ronan heard a voice behind him and jumped.
"Damn, can't you warn me beforehand." When Ronan jumped he turned and slammed his back into the door.
"Well, it does say closed." Steve pointed out the fact again.
"Anyway, I'm Ronan, nice to meet you." Ronan fixed his dishevelled appearance before offering a handshake.
"I'm Steve." Steve replied before shaking Ronan's hand.
Steve walked to the door and opened it with his key. "You coming inside?" Steve had walked in while Ronan just stood there, he could see through the crack in the door, the inside of Steve's office was massive.
It had several 3 piece suits, each with a coffee table in the middle probably made from some expensive wood, there was an office space in the middle surrounded by glass with blinds on each of the windows, inside was a table, an office chair and several armchairs.
"Sure." Ronan pushed the door open before looking at the rest of the room, there were 2 kitchens, 1 at each end of the office space, several foreign coffee machines with a fridge connecting to the marble worktops, probably expensive.
Ronan followed Steve into his office.
"So you bring the information?" Steve asked.
"Yes? But didn't you ask me here to judge my character?" Ronan was confused.
"I can do both at the same time, I'll question you while looking at the information." Steve said before firing off several questions, he started with the basics such as, name, age, where he lives, what he does etc.
It went on for several hours, the sky was getting dark and they still had a couple more hours to go, at least that was what Steve said.
"So this is it? This is the app in which caused you a lot of problems." Steve was intrigued, it wasn't often that he got cases in which the advertising agency was skimming profits from an app, though he had a few, they were all big companies and big apps, Ronan's was considered small compared to what he is usually dealing with.
"Yep." Ronan's answer was short but to the point.
"Okay then, that's it for the day, tomorrow I will submit this to the courts then there will be a period of time in which the ad agency will have to submit files and evidence then it will be time for court, this will take roughly 1 month to get all the documents made, signed, delivered and vice-versa, by then you should be starting court or they could choose to settle in which case it might not even take weeks for this whole thing to blow over, after all a companies reputation is what matters most, profits coming in a close second because if a company loses its reputation the people will lose trust and stop buying from them." Steve ended the day with Ronan and made a plan of action going forward, all Ronan had to do was sign some documents when they were ready and attend court if needed.
