Ronan was working on his game several weeks later when he received a call from Andrew.
Andrew had finally gone through months, if not years, of Ronan's paperwork and everything, was fine and sorted, he just called to inform him about everything and ask a few simple questions about some errors that Ronan had made when he was documenting everything after that Ronan went back to coding.
Three Days Later...
It was the end of the month, Ronan was getting paid and he had to compare the data from the advertising agency and Rasheed's to see if he was getting what was owed or if he was losing money to a fraudulent company.
Before he accessed anything Rasheed called Ronan.
"Hello Ronan, I'm calling to inform you that everything should be ready now, you should be available to compare between them, if you find any discrepancies you can call me back and I'll answer anything for you." They then spent the next few minutes with small talk before ending it.
Ronan quickly logged onto his advertising agency account and clicked on the drop-down box to select his messaging app.
He was paid $18,746 today, it showed him the charts based on how many people had visited and how long they stayed, he had over 100,000 unique users on during that week with several tens of thousands of returning users.
He then opened up an app that was connected to Rasheed's plug-in, it stored all the data that Rasheed had gathered.
It showed him that the messaging app had over 110,000 new users that month, with over 100,000 returning users, 20,000 more than what the advertising agency said.
Ronan spent the next 15 minutes looking through all the specifics before calling Rasheed.
"Hey, I just looked into it and there are some questions, how big is the leniency between the two supposed to be?" Ronan got straight to the point.
"Nothing big, maybe 1-2k people on average $500 if your app has a lot of ads." Rasheed went through all the specifics on how big the differences should be and what was over and what was under before Ronan told Rasheed about everything.
"My app, your plug-in has huge discrepancies, compared to the advertising agency what should I do about it?" Ronan was confused about what to do next.
"Well first off you will need to print out copies of both and go to a lawyer, if they are taking money that belongs to you and keeping it then you will need to file a lawsuit, alternatively you can go to the advertising agency and ask them to pay you what they owe, but its best if you get everything ready and wait until next month to see if it is consistent or if it is a one-off, if its a one-off then you should go the agency, if it is more than once go to a lawyer, but just in case get in contact with a lawyer, you never know they might not do anything about it once you report it to them." Rasheed laid out a plan to Ronan, one that was simple and easy to understand, he also recommended some lawyers who were reputable and cheap.
"Ok, Thanks for the help, I'll call you again if I have any problems." After that they said goodbye and hung up, the next thing on Ronan's agenda was contacting Andrew, if it was happening multiple times then half of the information that he gave to Andrew was false and therefore he would have to re-organize, add some, delete some and then send it again.
"Hey, Andrew." They started with some small talk before getting into it.
"So the information I sent you is probably wrong." Ronan pointed out which parts would probably be wrong, including most of his earnings, or would be earnings, but then again Ronan didn't have any proof about any months before the previous one.
"Okay, so basically you got scammed and now you know about it, it's fairly simple to fix it all, nothing will need to be replaced, your taxes will require a few notes though and since it's not your fault the government can't really do anything to you, if you file a lawsuit then the government can, fine the advertising agency for fraudulent activity, but overall I just need to edit some parts, but you will need to send the extra info to me so I can add it." They sorted everything out, step by step, going through all the processes, he also recommended some reputable and cheap lawyers that he could use, he also recommended the best lawyers despite the cost.
Once everything was sorted Ronan was too anxious to do anything if he was losing thousands every month then he would be sad for a couple of reasons, the amount of money he was sending to his family could also have been more and the amount of money he could've invested in his other app could've been more as well.
Ronan thought about it for several days, he also talked to his sister about it who told him that he should definitely contact a lawyer about it, if not then how will he get his money, what if the company tried to alter all the information.
After several lengthy conversations with his sister he decided to get a lawyer, but first was paying for it, he didn't have anywhere near enough money to pay for it, 1/3 goes to his family and almost all of the rest goes back into the apps, with around 2/6 staying inside Ronan's bank for emergencies.
For the extra money Ronan talked to Jake about it, he also called to ask for a loan.
"Hey, Jake, have you heard about it?" Jake had connected Ronan to Rasheed and Andrew so he assumed that they might have told him about what happened already.
"Yeah, so what do you need?" Jake was straight to the point as always.
"Well, I need a lawyer so two things, one a lawyer and two a loan." Ronan was equally straight forward.
"Sure, I can get you both, I'll pay for the lawyer and when the case the settled we can create an agreement for you to pay me back, I'll also choose the lawyer, we don't want you to actually lose the case and end up paying for their fees now do we." Jake started messing with Ronan for a bit before giving him a lawyers number, they then had a small talk for several minutes before hanging up.
