'Terminate!'
The war-bots declared, charging at us. Catina and I separated and slashed the war-bots with the Katana. They kept on repeating words of terminating us, it started to grow annoying. I cut off one robotic arm just as I was super punched to the wall, which now became rubbles falling on the floor.
Catina managed to deactivate one bot, I groaned in pain as I pushed my sore body off the pile of rubble "How'd you do that?!" I yelled at her as I quickly rolled to my left, narrowly avoiding being crushed by undeniably sharp metal claws the bot have.
"there's a bunch of systematical wires that support their functions behind their necks!" Using my technical eye contact, I scanned the bot and found the wires Catina was talking about, I grabbed the Katana and stood up, I cut off the other arm off, sparks of electrons appeared. I grit my teeth as I jumped on its behind and dug the katana through the wires.
The war-bot convulsed as I jumped off, quickly sidestepping the other bot on my way. I dug the katana on its body when all of a sudden, it unhinged its head and what seemed to be an alarm peeped out. I cursed under my breath "Catina! We need to leave!" I yelled as I ran to pick up the makeshift bag filled with Father's journals.
Catina kicked away the war-bot she just finished "crap! Come on!" We ran out and back into the rooftop. We dashed through the emergency stairs, two steps at a time.
"There!" we looked towards the other building, up on the rooftop was a couple of dark silhouettes. Catina and I rushed to our bikes, putting on our helmet. We let the engines roar and we sped off, back to the valleys.
hearing a different sound of gushing wind, I looked to the side and saw a black shadow with red eyes. My eyes widened and focused on the road, my heart thumping harshly inside my ribcage, sweat oozing down my face. Why do I feel so terrified? I'm pretty sure it isn't the war-bots.
Catina and I made the harsh turn into the rocky trail leading to my home, I huffed and pressed a button on the bike handle "Catina! re-route to the open field!"
'Sure thing!' she responds.
We re-routed, turning a sharp right where there are big roots and boulders decorating the muddy road. This is going to be a big mess to clean later. Once we got to the open field where mother nature seems to be taking over. Just then, war-bots appeared, shooting at us "Frigg!" Catina and I yell as we avoided it but it was inevitable.
We got separated from our bikes, faceplanting on the grass. I huff as I stood up, grabbing the Katana from my back. Catina and I huddled closer, our katanas pointed outwards our backs touching "How many do you see?" I questioned, my eyes wandering over the large groups of bots.
"Too many for us to handle"
I glanced back at her "Oh come on, you seriously can't think of that, now can you?" she hisses at me "I'm seriously thinking that Lydia, I know a fight when I see one, but this?" she swung her katana towards the charging bots surrounding us "This is similar to war, and that is something we can't win"
I frowned and focused in front of me "Then we'll try harder" with a battle cry, we charged at the bots. I swung my Katana here and there, striking every bot I see, but I am nowhere near to cut their wires out. Gritting my teeth, I grabbed my hang guns and started shooting bullets. Casually swinging the sword, cutting numerous robotic arms off, and a couple of weird shaped heads.
When I ran out of ammo, I chucked the handgun away and relied on what I have left, my knives and the Katana. However, when I heard a yelp, I looked over towards Catina and found her doubled over, the clothes she's wearing was starting to stain a visible red. I clenched my fists and carelessly swung, only scratching whatever cropped metal they were built with.
Feeling a stinging pain on my arm, I hissed, but I never lost grip on the katana. I tried to swing with my one good arm but one bot gripped my arms, took the Katana from me and broke it in half. I looked over Catina, screaming at her to fight back. I shook myself, trying to get their grip to come loose, but then, when you're fighting with robots, it's nearly impossible to achieve.
Their grip on me started to tighten I could Practically hear my bones crack. I let out an agonizing scream, tears leaving my eyes in a haste, quickly staining my dirty flushed face. Just as the war-bot was about to dig its sharp claws inside my chest, a fireball shot him out of the way. My eyes widened as I watched the metal melt. My head snapped towards the direction that massive fireball came from, and when I did, my breath hitched as my muscles tensed.
These people, they're different.
They didn't waste time and did something mythical, something us, humans wouldn't believe, there are four men and two women, eye glowing at a very unnatural state. I dropped to the ground, whimpering in pain, I couldn't move my right arm. Figures. It's broken.
With a tinge of fighting spirit, I stood up and saw bots being wrapped up in vines, others were being thrown recklessly around by an unseen force. I ducked and limped towards Catina. My eyes widened when I saw a woman applying pressure on her gash. She has blue hair, unnaturally pale skin and deep blue eyes. She would do a fine model, a gorgeous one.
Shaking off the thoughts, ignoring the attire she has on, I went to Catina whose barely keeping her eyes open "Oh no... Catina you sick bitch, stay with me" I murmured, her eyes glazed over to me and smirked "It's just a scratch sis" I scoffed at her weak attempt to brush my worrying ass.
"She has little to no time left" I looked at the blue haired woman, her eyes filled with emotion as the others came to us, I warily scoot back when they crowded around us. I looked at them and my eyes stopped at the man on fire, like literally on fire. His copper red hair went to different directions, his tan skin glistened with sweat and his intense red eyes stared at my silver ones, it looked familiar, and as it prolonged, I felt a burning sensation on my back, on a spot I have been curious of since I was a child.
I whimpered in pain, cradling my limp arm "Who are you, people?" I squeaked, my body trembled in exhaustion and fear. A woman with light brown locks and tan skin crouched down beside the blue-haired woman "We won't hurt you, that's a promise" I grit my teeth
"How can I trust you?" I murmured through my teeth. The woman pursed her lips and was about to speak when the blue-haired woman snapped "Look if you want this lady to live, I suggest you bring me to the nearest body of water" I looked at the blue-haired woman, my eyes squinting in suspicion.
Hearing a small cry, I looked down at a sweating Catina and sighed. I stood up, stumbling a bit "Fine" I grumbled, about to pick Catina up when this giant silver-haired hunk beat me to it. The blue-haired woman grabbed my left arm "We need to hurry"
wordlessly nodding, I turned on my heel and led them to the waterfalls. It isn't far from here.
I have no idea why these strange other worldly people with powers are helping us, nor do I know where they came from. However, there's only one way to find out.
