Chapter 5 - Burning

The cogs in my head started to function at a very abnormal pace, my guts twisted making me visibly wince "Lydia?" I looked at Leo who gave me a concerned look, I shake my head and gave the photograph back to the platinum-haired man, it can't be possible now, could it?

"Where'd you get that?" I asked, clenching my fists to stop it from shaking in anger "The cameras installed at the Kingdom of Sarithia caught it, why?" Sarithia? It must be a place in their world. I take in deep breaths "Because Its the same hooded figure that my security system caught back at my Father's Laboratory" I breathily responded.

They warily eyed me, Meira stood up and came to stand in front of me "Lydia, is something the matter?" I contemplated telling her, but then, I just met her, even though she helped me and Catina, it doesn't change the fact that they are strangers under my own home. I shake my head "Nothing"

But it bothered me. Anything that bothers me always brings me to situations that are out of hand, and I wouldn't want anything chaotic to happen.

I looked at them, doing my very best not to be distracted at their lack of clothing "Not to be rude or anything, but shouldn't you be looking for whoever you are looking for? I raised a brow, at this question, the light brown-haired woman stood up, giving me a warm smile.

"This is Farren" Meira introduces "As for your question, we think you could help us" my eyes widened a fraction in surprise "Me? I'm sorry but I don't meddle with anyone's business unless its mine" I know I should agree with them and help because this black figure is the very same person who broke in my father's laboratory.

"Isn't it already?" My gaze and attention flew to the silver-haired hunk, my eyes squinted at him "Whatever these things are, they are created to destroy, and they wanted you and your friend dead" then Leo butts in "I agree with Caleb" I looked at him "whoever commanded these inventions wanted you gone--" he abruptly stops at his sentence, making me furrow my brows.

He pursed his lips and stood up "Excuse me" then he went out, Caleb following his footsteps. I looked at Meira in question "Is something wrong with them?" I asked, then she shared a look with Farren before looking at me. Rolling their lips successfully soaking them, emotions swirled in their eyes "Why don't you have a seat and we'll explain?"

I stared at them for a moment before striding over to sit at the loveseat. They sat on the long couch where Ryker and the platinum-haired hunk was just chilling "Lydia, there's a difference between our world and yours" Meira starts

"What do you mean?"

"Your world is filled with normality, with a calming atmosphere where peace is evident" I snorted "Please, you wouldn't be saying that if you actually lived here, our world is going cuckoo, the war for territory disputes and crazy shoot outs at various places, killing innocent people without any valid reason, you call that peace?"

"Honey, just listen" I looked at Farren "what Meira meant is that your world is entirely different than ours" I crossed my arms across my chest "How different?"

"Where your world is normal, humane people, ours is run by magic, one you mythically believe" Magic? What the hell? I'm not some third grader to be hearing some fairy tale. But then again, I witnessed what they are capable of doing. It's something I couldn't really explain.

"In our world, there are five kingdoms that rule over acres of land, I am from Sarithia, the Kingdom that holds the power of Nature, Meira is from Findara, Kingdom that holds the power of water, Ryker is from Rafiya, a kingdom that holds the power of teleportation, Mason is from Alynthi, Kingdom that holds the power of shield" I looked at the platinum-haired hunk who saluted at me "Pleasure to meet you, Lydia" I just nodded and looked back at Farren.

she continued "Caleb, the silver-haired man you saw is from Alandara, the kingdom that holds the power of telekinesis and Leo, the red-head lives with him" My brows furrowed in confusion, wondering if that's a kingdom for telekinesis, what's Leo doing there?

"But Leo, I saw him wield fire" I pointed out.

"Where he came from, we don't have any idea, only Caleb, they're best friends, however, legends in the book tells that he's the planet's guardian" I tilt my head to the side, still confused.

"It's something similar to that of a hellhound in this world" oh. Good thing I learned about that when I was interested at mythological creatures back in high school.

"But what does that do with how those two are reacted?" I questioned, Meira sighs "We are just preparing you for the most confusing part" she stared at me "Caleb made an imprint with Catina and Leo imprinted...on you" My heart fell.

"Excuse me?!"

I don't know why but the sound of the word 'imprint' didn't sit well with me. It makes me sound like I'm an animal, "Lydia, they made a connection with you and Catina, which is why they acted like that" Meira says "They didn't like it when they heard about those things trying to kill you" Farren added.

"Is that my fault? It isn't! to hell with imprinting people" I ground my teeth, I wanted to feel angry, to feel furious, but for some reason, I can't.

"It will take effect on you eventually" I looked at Ryker who smirked at me, I frowned, not liking where he's going with this "An imprint on someone in our world is a very sacred practice, Lydia" I raised a brow "Because an imprint on someone we desire means that we locked our fate with them"

I abruptly stood up "You know what, I believe you coming from another world, but this is bullshit" I hissed, the feeling of confusion growing in myself "You wouldn't say that if you know how to understand Lydia" I shake my head at Farren's words.

"Don't touch anything valuable, you can rest, I'll be in my room" I grumbled and dashed upstairs even before any of them could stop me. When I was in the confinement of my sanctuary, I heaved out a breath of relief. Talking bullshit can really drain your energy.

When I felt a wave of burning sensation on my back, I rushed to stand in front of my full body mirror and removed my top. With my back facing the mirror, my eyes widened as I saw my tattoo glowing a bright orange "What the hell" I murmured under my breath.

Then I heard a loud commotion outside. I rushed towards my window, what I'm witnessing got me so shook that my tattoo burned like I'me being Cremated, not that I ever felt that but it must be similar.

I huffed, my confusion turning into anger. What is he thinking?!
