Chapter 4 - Inhuman

Once we got to the waterfalls, the silver-haired man placed a passed out, pale Catina gently on the ground. The blue-haired woman hastily approached her, then for the second time today, I witnessed her hand's motion specific movements then I saw part of the water rise and entrapped Catina's body. My brows furrowed and were about to yell at her, however, a deep velvety voice with a specific accent captured my attention "It's her way of healing" my head snapped to the right, the familiar burning sensation arose on my back,

The Redhead hunk crossed his arms across his bare chest, his eyes focused on the scene happening in front. Gulping, I looked away "Do I even want to know?" I whimpered as the burning sensation on my back grew more unbearable "are you well?" I clenched my left fist, biting my lower lip, my sweat dripping faster on each growing second.

"I-I d-don't know.." I grit. I don't even know what to say, what to believe. Is this just a dream?

All of a sudden, the Redhead swoops me up in his arms and hurriedly approached the pond near Catina "Meira! something's wrong with her" He informed, the emotion in his tone, I couldn't describe it.

"Put her in the water" the blue-haired woman, who I believe is Meira instructed. The Redhead gently helped me in the pond, my clothes now soaked. I nearly fell under when he let go of me, my vision was getting hazy and I am starting to get dizzy "Woah there" leaving him no choice, he jumped in behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Caleb, get the girl, she's already healed"

I couldn't focus. But I did her a splash of water and soft, gentle hands caressed my face then down on my limp right arm "Oh dear, your arm is shredded, but it's nothing I can't fix" her soft voice filled my ears. I mumbled incoherently under my breath, barely noticing the sparks that hit my skin where the Redhead was securely holding me up.

I felt something cool wrap around my right arm then as quick as lightning, a wave of pain rushed in my veins. A shrill scream of agony left my lips as I writhed on the man's hold. Then I started to sob "I'm sorry honey" I heard Meira say as the coolness around my arm tried to comfort me, but since it was working to heal me, it didn't distract me from the agonizing pain.

Then I felt a gush of air on my ear lobe, a warm minty breath "Listen to me, focus on my voice" he need not tell me. His voice sparked something in me, it filled me with warmth and an overwhelmingly gleeful feeling "That's it, you're doing great" I continued to listen on his comforting voice, successfully distracting me from the pain.

After a while, Meira announced it's done. My whole arm was still sore "it will take a few days for you to freely move it" I gulped, nodding. I needed to get a fine swim, gripping on the man's arm "Please let go" I murmured as my heart thumped rapidly in my chest.

"are you well?" I let out a breath "I will be, just let go" I softly muttered. I could feel his hesitance even though I got my back facing him. Hearing Meira sigh "Leo, just let her go" The man behind me, who I heard his name is Leo let's go. I immediately dived down the pond and let the cool waters caress my skin, the burning sensation on my back dwindling into nothingness.

After a while, I swam back into the surface, heaving out a beath, my heart now calming down. I got out of the pond and walked over towards the silver-haired hunk "Is she okay?" I asked Meira as she stood beside me with the light-brown haired woman "her gash was deep, it took time to heal but I managed to stitch it up" I looked at her "she'll just need to rest for a couple of days" I nodded.

Letting out a breath "you should go to the cabin near here, I have to go retrieve something" I said.

"Leaving you alone at this moment, it's dangerous since those things could still be out there" The light brown-haired woman claims.

"I left a white makeshift bag with all of my father's journals back at the field" I argued "Ryker will get it for you, he'll be quick" I sighed and looked at the violet-hair hunk who gave me a smirk. I glared at him "Fine, let's go to my cabin" I grumbled and led them back to my cabin.

Once we got there, Ryker left in a puff of smoke, we entered my Cabin "Is this where you live?" a Platinum-haired man asks, his eyes looking around "Yes" I curtly responded as I led them to sit, I led the silver-haired man in Catina's bedroom. He gently placed her down on the bed and I covered her with her duvet.

"Come on" I murmured and pushed him out. I gently closed the door and went back to the living room and crossed my arms across my chest, ignoring those intense red eyes staring at me "Now, May I please get some explanation? who on earth are you people?" I hissed.

They glanced at each other, aside from Leo who replied after a moment of silence "Our world was attacked by the same things that chased you and your friend" Their world? what the hell does that even mean? Sensing my confusion, the light brown-haired woman spoke up

"You're a smart woman, Lydia, I'm sure you figured out we're not from here since you've witnessed our lack of attire and something incapable for humans to do" My jaw dropped in shock, how'd she know who I am? I am sure I haven't spoken of my name around them, they are mere strangers to me.

"Easy. We had a background check on you before we came on Earth. It wasn't easy since you're in another world and our technology wasn't designed for seeking information from a different planet" I huffed "something illegal!" I snapped and glared at them

"How am I supposed to believe what you people are telling me? How will I know that you aren't just cosplayers looming around the forest?" I bombarded, although, I know the questions I asked are near to inevitable. I witnessed what they did, and for sure, these weren't human.

In a blink of an eye, the Violet-haired hunk appeared before me with the makeshift bag in hand. I mumbled my thanks before walking over to my emergency stash. I shoved it inside and quickly closed it.

I turned to face them, examining their appearance, the women were wearing one piece swimsuit-like armor, capes hung on their shoulders, their legs were hugged by some type of accessory, but they were bare feet. The men, however, are wearing black airship steampunk trousers, capes over their shoulders and their arms consisted of arm wraps. Their feet and upper bodies are bare, letting everyone see how male anatomy works.

I palmed my face "What are you doing here? Saving me and Catina isn't what you're here for" I said, removing my tailcoat, placing it on the coat rack, I removed my fingerless gloves and the adjustable waist pouch, placing it on top of a drawer.

"We are looking for someone, and I suppose this person who we're looking for is in this planet" the platinum-haired hunk gave me a piece of paper he took out from his pocket when I took it, it is a photo of a black hooded figure.

My heart fell as I frown. A familiar figure might I add.
