Chapter 11 - Negotiation Between Players

'Friends? He wants to make friends with me? What exactly is he planning to do?' Caleb asked.

Before deciding anything, especially in this case, Caleb needed to make sure that player D_Destroyer actually had such intentions.

Caleb sent a second message to D_Destroyer, asking him to do something to convince him.

[Recipient: D_Destroyer]

[Kingdom Name: #9845008]

[If you really want to be friends with me. You should return to your town hall. We'll meet at noon at the Darklord's Town Hall]

[Message sent]

The player named D_Destroyer received the message that Caleb sent him. He replied to the message with an approving response.

He said he would set his troop units to idle stance mode, of course, to prevent them from killing Caleb.

Caleb nodded. From the game map, he could see the enemy dot slowly starting to leave the RustyAxe town hall area. Caleb was finally able to calm down.

[Friend Chat]

[Liliana_P] [How did it go? Did you survive?]

[Caleb] [Thankfully, he didn't attack. I'll meet with him at noon. I'll let you know the result of my meeting with him.]

[Liliana_P] [That's good. If you die, I don't know who else to befriend. Two players are dead already; I don't want to die]

[Caleb] [I won't die. I know how this game works]

Liliana was happy and relieved to hear that the problem in RustyAxe's town hall had been resolved.

She wanted to visit there, but Caleb's previous message said that he forbade Liliana from coming for a while.

The woman didn't know why Caleb had forbidden her to come, but she would follow what Caleb said.

According to Liliana, Caleb was a player who might be much more experienced in this game than she was. It would be wise for her to continue supporting Caleb.

Caleb stepped out of the town hall, seeing from a distance that the D_Destroyer troop unit had left Caleb's town hall.

'I may be strong in an invasion. However, when it comes to town defense, I'm still lacking,' Caleb stated.

'Sadly, the watch tower still can't be built. The town's defense can only rely on the troops and defense mechanisms of the town hall,' Caleb explained.

'I'd better call another commander to protect this place in case Leonidas goes to invade somewhere else,' said Caleb.

He opened the inventory menu and saw that his few items were well stored. Out of his six items, he had one complete fragment for the A Class commander.

[INVENTORY INFO]

[11 Random A Class Commander Fragments]

[8 fragments of Commander William Wallace A Class]

[5 core fragments gang monster level 1]

[1 Infantry Bundle level 2]

[1 Cavalry Bundle Level 2]

[7 Wood Bundle level 2]

Even so, the complete fragment was random. It meant Caleb couldn't confirm who the commander he would get when using the fragment was.

"I hate gacha!"

However, a commander was still a commander. Players will need them very much, especially when they are in the early stages of the game.

The more commanders, the more the defense or attack of a kingdom increases. That must be supported by qualified troop units.

[DING! Congratulations on getting Commander A Class]

[Name: Arash The Archer]

[Class: A]

[Commander Type: Defense Infantry]

[Fragment Commander: 10/10]

[Summon Commander:]

[Yes] [No]

'Arash, huh? I never use this commander because of his class, but since I have no other choice, then I might as well summon him,' Caleb explained.

Arash, The Archer. Caleb knew his history because the game briefly explained who Arash was and his abilities.

He is an archer hero from Iranian mythology and said his arrows can reach as far as possible and never miss.

For the current situation, his ability is quite necessary for the defense mechanism of the town hall —before the castle was created.

[DING! Congratulations, you have summoned Arash, the Archer]

[Kingdom Power: 3700] [+500]

A magic circle appeared before Caleb, revealing the form of a man with leather armor and a wooden bow. Even so, Caleb never doubted his abilities as a hero of Iranian mythology.

"Your orders, Master?" asked Arash, standing up with his head bowed.

"Enter Town Hall and guard the town for me. Use your abilities to fend off enemy attacks!" said Caleb.

"I understand." Arash the Archer stepped out of the area near Caleb and entered RustyAxe's Town Hall. Caleb looked over, briefly seeing the town hall glow blue as Arash entered.

[Commander attached]

[Commander: Arash The Archer]

[Buff obtained to all units]

[Def +15]

[Atk +10]

[Range +7]

With the addition of buffs to the units attached to the commander, Caleb could ensure that the attributes of the town hall also increased, such as the range from 10 to 17m because of Arash's presence.

Attack and defense building also increased significantly, which benefited Caleb. At least with this kind of ability, the town could survive the attack of 10 scouts and units at the same level.

Infantry Camp has finished producing militia units. Yet, Caleb did not have time to study leather equipment technology.

He turned his head and pressed the building icon from afar; the building status panel appeared before Caleb.

[Infantry Camp]

[Durability: 500/500]

[Level: 1]

[Units]

[1. Militia] [100 wood || 50 food] [15 minutes/unit]

[Technology]

[Leather Equipment] [100 wood || 200 food || 150 gold] [3 hours]

From the panel menu displayed, Caleb pressed the technology section menu. The costs required were around 100 wood, 200 food, and 150 gold.

Caleb's resources were more than enough to learn the technology. After all, after the technology research was completed, the attributes of his militia troop units would increase, impacting his kingdom's power points.

[Technology Research]

[Technology Type: Military]

[Building: Infantry Camp]

[Technology Name: Leather Equipment]

[Needs: 100 wood || 200 food || 150 gold]

[Increases Defense by +10% during combat || Increases unit march speed by +5]

[Research Time:]

[00:02:59:59]

Research for the technology took three hours to complete. Caleb didn't mind, considering he had also created a militia unit, and they were in charge of guarding this place from inside the Town Hall.

He turned to look at the other buildings. No technology was available to research; the only new addition to TH Level 2 was the Infantry Camp.

Not wanting to be left behind, Caleb ordered two of the five idle villagers to build houses. He needed six new houses to support his troop capacity.

In his inventory, he had an infantry and cavalry bundle. Both bundles were at level 2 —Heavy Scout and Light Swordsman.

That's why Caleb needed more houses, especially since he knew there were new buildings to build and new technologies to be studied.

[Construction begins]

[Building: House]

[Building Type: Economic Building]

[Number: 6 Units]

[Cost: 300 wood || 150 food || 150 stone]

[Construction duration: ]

[00:00:59:59]

'Alright. The population is done, and the town defense mechanism has been upgraded,' Caleb explained.

'Now it's time for me to go to the ACCCidRAINN town hall to talk to D_Destroyer!' said Caleb.

Leonidas' troops marching south were split in two by Caleb. The light swordsman units were ordered to return to the first TH, while the heavy scout units were ordered to return to the ACCCidRAINN town hall.

One heavy scout unit was ordered to return to pick up Caleb. After all, players going alone and leaving town hall were dangerous.

At least, the heavy scout unit can escort Caleb until he gets there. Caleb was pretty sure there were no enemy troops left in the northeast.

The journey from RustyAxe's Town Hall to ACCCidRAINN's TH took two hours to march. Caleb could see that an enemy red dot had arrived from the vision range of the heavy scout at TH ACCCidRAINN.

'He has arrived. How will he respond if he sees I have a heavy scout and an S Class commander?' Caleb asked, curious.

Two hours passed, the construction of 6 house units had been completed, and now they were producing villagers at the rate of 1 villager per two hours.

[DING! Construction is complete]

[Building:]

[6 Houses Level 1]

[Population Limit: 50/105]

In total, 10 houses were producing villagers, four houses were producing the third batch, and the rest were in the first batch.

Caleb arrived at the location of the ACCCidRAINN Town Hall ruins. He looked to the west; the player with the nickname D_Destroyer was standing with his 10 scout units.

[ENFORCEMENT INFO]

[Commander: Leonidas (S Class)]

[Units:]

[7x Heavy Scout]

[Agg Stance -> Idle Stance]

With Idle Stance, Leonidas' troops will not be aggressive, according to Caleb's agreement with D_Destroyer.

The two players stepped into the center of ACCCidRAINN's Town Hall and met without shaking hands.

"No wonder you were able to defeat that damn player," said the man, 23 years old with his blond hair and modern shirt suit.

"He attacked one of my outposts. I couldn't keep him alive," Caleb explained.

"I'm John, John Alfredo. Nice to meet you," John replied, extending a hand.

"I'm Caleb, Caleb Ellise."

The two shook hands with two troops guarding behind each player. John looked behind Caleb, 7 heavy scout units led by a commander.

John realized that he had made the right decision. It was stupid to challenge Caleb, who had such a strong army —for the current TH level—

John did not want to meet the same fate as Player Darklord.

"You must know the difference between friend and ally, right?" Caleb asked, making sure.

"I know it. Don't worry. I won't attack you, nor should you do the same as I do," John emphasized.

"It's good that you understand."
