Caleb and 7 Heavy Scouts traveled from RustyAxe Town Hall to Liliana_P's TH location. The distance between the two places was about 2 hours with a cavalry unit, so Caleb was confident he could arrive on time.
He told Liliana to do what he told her to do, including putting all villagers into their town hall or house.
That way, at least the attack from CL_Ellise could be held off for a few hours before Caleb's reinforcements arrived.
[Friend Chat!]
[Liliana_P] [I'll do as you say]
[Caleb] [What is the unit of troops attacking you?]
[Liliana_P] [10 militia units]
'Just the militia, not so threatening. With the town hall's defense mechanism, at least they can be repelled easily,' said Caleb.
[Caleb] [Militia is no match for my cavalry unit]
[Caleb] [Hang in there. I'll get there fast!]
[Liliana_P] [Be careful, Caleb]
Caleb joined the group on a horse. It's already a passive ability of the players to do this. If a player joins a cavalry unit, the system will assign a mount to the player.
The player will not affect the unit's speed. That's all that matters.
The best choice for Caleb was to send cavalry units there. Besides the fast speed, their fighting ability was also qualified. 10x militia units would be helpless if Caleb's 7x heavy scout units arrived there.
Two hours passed, Liliana kept Caleb updated on the damage to her town hall. Her lumber and gold mine were destroyed, and now the enemy troops were being directed to attack the house compound.
From afar, Caleb saw the top of RedLotus505's town hall. There, Caleb watched as several buildings burned in flames, as well as militia troop units that continued to storm into the town hall house compound.

[Caleb] [Setting your troops to idle stance]
[Caleb] [I've reached the area outside the town hall]
[Caleb] [I'll start attacking]
[Liliana_P] [Okay. I'll do it]
[Liliana_P] [Thank you for your help, Caleb]
Caleb opened the game map, selecting all the heavy scout units he had brought to this place. With the drag and order function, Caleb pulled his troops and targeted them to attack the militia troops.
[UNIT INFO]
[Unit Name: Heavy Scout]
[Train: Cavalry]
[Number: 7]
[Agg Stance]
With an agg stance, they will attack the target commanded earlier. However, there are consequences to using this type of stance.
If Caleb didn't keep an eye on it, his unit could attack one of Liliana's buildings. That was because the two were just friends, not allies.
Still, the man was more knowledgeable about the game and the system than anyone else, even newbie players. He would watch each of his units to avoid attacking Liliana's buildings.
From inside the town hall, Liliana saw Caleb's cavalry coming down the hill behind her town.
Through Liliana's eyes, they easily killed the militia units, although one heavy scout unit had to die due to being hit from two directions: the militia and the town hall's arrows.
[Battle Status]
[Kills: 26] [+8]
[Razed Building: 7]
[Unit Die: 6] [+1]
[War probability: 99% war win]
Caleb could only kill 8 of the 10 militia units that attacked. The other two militia units died due to being hit by arrows from Liliana_P's town hall.
The situation was gradually conducive. Liliana could breathe with relief as she pressed the bell again to tell people to return to work.
On the other hand, Caleb changed his unit's stance from an agg stance to an idle stance. That way, his unit wouldn't act aggressively, even in enemy land.
As he pulled his troops back up the hill, three of the seven heavy scout units showed yellow hp bars; the rest were still green.
'CL_Ellise must have realized that I attacked his militia unit. Looks like I can't escape from the player,' Caleb said.
Liliana stepped out. Before she met up with Caleb, she ordered the two builders to rebuild the destroyed Lumber and Gold Mine and repair the other damaged buildings.
After giving the orders, Liliana stepped out of her town hall to find Caleb. There, she saw Caleb standing in front of the remaining 6 heavy scout units.
"How did it go? Did you—"
HUG!
Liliana was so frightened. Her hands and feet were covered in cold sweat, and she trembled anxiously.
She clung to Caleb's body immediately, which shocked the man, Caleb had never gotten anything like this since he first played this game.
"What are you—"
"You are the savior of my life, Caleb. I owe you one," Liliana interrupted, burying her face in Caleb's chest.
It was natural for Caleb to see Liliana react this way. That's not without reason; Liliana could be the youngest player on this continent. The other two players Caleb met had ages ranging over 20 years.
At that young age, Liliana should enjoy her youth by hanging out with her friends. Unfortunately for her, she had to be trapped in this deadly game.
Caleb released Liliana's hug, seeing her tears literally falling down her cheeks. Anxiety was clearly implied on her face; fear still haunted her, especially about unexpected attacks from other players.
"It's okay. You're safe," Caleb replied.
'However, this isn't temporary. Since CL_Ellise knows this place lacks defenses or troops, he might mobilize more troops to attack Liliana,' Caleb explained.
He looked towards the town hall, which was probably already level two. Still, Liliana didn't seem to be setting up an infantry camp.
This was dangerous! She couldn't keep relying on the town hall's defense mechanism. That would cost her a lot.
"But what if there's another attack?" asked Liliana, panicking.
"You should create a militia immediately. Create at least 10 units to protect your town hall."
"That's the only way to survive another player's surprise attack," Caleb explained.
"Can't you place your units here?"
Caleb shook his head. The defense mechanism of the town hall couldn't be set by the player. As long as the two were not an alliance, the town hall would attack any player unit that came across the area.
If Caleb placed his units here, it would be foolish! The town hall would continue to attack Caleb's heavy scout unit, and his unit would be destroyed.
However, since Liliana was important to Caleb, Caleb would think of another, more effective way to go.
In the area around Liliana's town hall, there were only two town halls nearby. The town hall belonged to CL_Ellise and another player in the south.
It was empty to the east and west, without any town halls. So there was another way for Caleb to protect Liliana without placing his units in the town center.
"I can't do that. But I can place my units in the forest east or west of your town hall," Caleb said.
"That way, the travel distance will be short, and my units can come to your town if the enemy attacks. Is that enough?" Caleb asked.
Liliana listened to the explanation and nodded. The smile on her face began to spread sweetly, her worries slightly relieved but still remained there.
Perhaps it would completely disappear after Liliana set up the Infantry Camp, as Caleb suggested. She realized that defense was just as important as gathering resources.
Caleb nodded after Liliana agreed with the suggestion. He shifted his unit from its location on the hill to the forest to the east.
If they were there, the distance to RedLotus505's town hall would be 20 minutes of horse riding. That was more than enough to repel enemy attacks.
Liliana had something else to talk about. She wanted to know the results of the conversation between Caleb and the player who would attack him.
Caleb explained everything, such as the player's name, the number of their troops, and their agreement. Liliana was a bit surprised to hear all that.
"So, the player Darklord died because you attacked?" asked Liliana. Caleb nodded.
"He attacked my outpost. If I keep him alive, he'll become an annoying player," Caleb replied.
Liliana responded as she stepped slightly away from Caleb. She had not expected Caleb to do that, killing other players without empathizing with their lives.
"You're just like CL_Ellise and the other players in this game."
"Don't be naive, Liliana. If you continue being nice to other players, they will use your kindness to destroy you," Caleb explained.
"This is no longer a game; this is the real world. To survive, we must fight!"
