Chapter 4 - Grand Hotel

, Lexi's anger boiled over. "Enough, Stop it mother, You have no right to judge me nor sell my grandmother's house, besides do you think it's ever going to work out if I do."

"I'm trying to protect you, Lexi. You're my daughter."Daisy's face twisted in pain as she spoke.

"Protect me?" Lexi laughs bitterly. "You've been there for me. You've always cared more about me than your problems, but Mom that's enough, I can handle things, I will"

Daisy's eyes welled up with tears. "That's not the right thing to make things right Lexi, please."Lexi shook her head picking up her bags, Daisy swallowed back her tears watching her only child about to walk away again.

 "How's he?"

Daisy shook her head mimicking her daughter and finally spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "I want you to leave."

 "How's he mom?"

"I'll try as much to tell him you didn't insist on being a prodigal daughter"

"This is not fair, Mother "Daisy's heart shattered as Lexi stormed out, the door slamming shut behind her, and all alone she succumbed to tears.

 ************

Lexi stormed out of her mother's house, tears streaming down her face. The argument still lingered in her mind, fueling her anger, she stopped to check her phone when it beeped and groaned internally when she saw it was a message from madame.

"Be at my place by 7 noon"Lexi took a deep breath and boarded a taxi back home, around noon she dragged her lazy body off the couch and arrived at Madame Isabella's agency, with her heart racing.

As she entered the luxurious lobby, Lexi was greeted by the receptionist, Sophia. Sophia's porcelain skin and raven-black hair framed her heart-shaped face, accentuating her piercing green eyes.

"Lexi, darling, you look troubled," Sophia said, concern etched on her face.

Lexi brushed past her, heading straight to Madame Isabella's office.

Inside, she found Madame Isabella, sitting on a posh leather chair her legs on the massueschets lap, she waved her hand to dismiss the man and put her legs down, her attention now on Lexi, she craned her head with her signature frown.

"Lexi, what's wrong?" Madame Isabella asked, her voice soothing.

 "Nothing madame, Got your message"

Madame Isabelle smiles sheepishly standing up and striding to her desk. "Lexi, I have a client requesting your company tonight," She said gently. "It's a high-paying gig, and I think it'll help take your mind off things."Lexi hesitated, unsure. "You and that bitch of yours promised to make it up to me"

"Okay, fine," Lexi said, resignation creeping into her voice.

Madame Isabella smiled. "Excellent. You'll meet him at the Grand Hotel, room 1215. Be there by 8 p.m."

Lexi nodded, her stomach twisting into knots and ambling out as she left the office, she'd only a few minutes she thought.

She encountered a group of girls gossiping in the hallway. There was Naomi, with her voluptuous figure and sassy attitude; Rachel, a petite blonde with a sweet smile; and Tanya, a raven-haired beauty with piercing blue eyes.

"Hey, Lexi, heard you're going to the Grand Hotel tonight," Naomi said, her voice dripping with envy.

Lexi's instincts flared. "What's it to you?"

Naomi smirked. "Just wondering if you're ready for the big leagues."

Lexi rolled her eyes. "I can handle myself."She retorted and walked away suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Hey, Lexi," Rachel said, her voice soft. "Be careful tonight, okay?"

Lexi turned, surprised by Rachel's concern.

"Why?"

Rachel leaned in. "I heard rumors about the client. He's...different."

Lexi's curiosity piqued. "Different how?"But Rachel just shook her head.

 "Just be careful."

With that, Rachel walked away, and Lexi exhaled.

....

Suzzie looked up from the couch as Lexi entered the house."Hey, girl," Suzzie said happily but noticing Lexi's mood changed the tone of her voice with concern etched on her face. "How was your mom's?"

Lexi sighed, collapsing onto the couch. "It was rough. We fought again."

Suzzie's expression softened. "I'm so sorry, Lexi."

Lexi took a deep breath. "And I saw Madame Isabella today. She has a job for me at the Grand Hotel."

Suzy's eyes widened. "Are you going?"

Lexi nodded. "I have to, I've to be there by 8"Suzzie jumped up cursing under her breath.

"That bitch...I'll go for you if you want. You're still stressed."

Lexi smiled gratefully. "No, I need to do this."

Suzzie sighed and stood up "Okay, let's get you ready then." She threw a kiss at Lexi and went to the room and ran back ."Ah-ha!" Suzzie exclaimed, holding up a black mini gown. "This one."

Lexi grudgingly stood up and went to fit into the dress, The dress hugged her curves, its hem skimming mid-thigh. The fitted bodice accentuated her toned waist, while the sweetheart neckline highlighted her cleavage, her curves were on full display with legs elongated in black heels.

"Perfect," Suzzie said, eyeing Lexi's reflection, later on, her hair was swept up into a sleek updo, secured with delicate pins. Loose strands framed her face, softening her features.

"Stunning," Suzzie breathed. Your hair looks amazing like that,"

"Thanks," Lexi said, forcing a tired smile.

 "The offer still stands"

 "I'll pass"

Suzzie smiles handing Lexi a clutch. "You got this."

Lexi took a final glance in the mirror.

The black mini gown clung to her figure, showcasing her toned physique. Her hair, styled to perfection, framed her heart-shaped face. Her eyes sparkled, ready and not ready to take on the night.

Lexi stepped into the grand lobby of the Grand Hotel, her eyes scanning the opulent decor, She walked up to the reception desk, where a friendly blonde receptionist with pouty lips greeted her.

"Welcome to the Grand Hotel. How may I assist you?" the receptionist asked.

"I'm here to meet someone," Lexi said, trying not to sound off. "Room 1918."

The receptionist nodded and handed Lexi a key card. "Here's your key, miss. The elevators are just down the hall." the woman directed by pointing to the black and gold glass doors, Lexi muttered her thanks, took the key, and made her way to the elevators.
