As Soon as Jackson stepped into the living room of his house, he was greeted by the familiar sight of his sister, and couldn't help but groan internally, Emily his sister lounges on the couch, her long, blonde hair cascading down her back like a river of gold. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with mischief as she looked up at him, a sly grin spreading across her face.
"Hey, bro," she said, her voice husky as she tossed aside the magazine she had been reading. "I've been waiting for you."
Jackson raised an eyebrow, recalling they'd fought over this impromptu visit and sometimes he regret revealing his passcodes to them, his eyes scan the room to make sure they were alone because there could be more of his families lurking around.
"What are you doing here, Emily? I thought you were busy with your charity work."
Emily shrugged, her shoulders barely rising off the couch. "I was, but I needed a break. Besides, I wanted to talk to you about something."
Jackson feigned seriousness as he walked over to the couch and sat down beside her, his eyes locked on hers. "What's up?"
Emily's grin faltered for a moment, and Jackson saw a flicker of seriousness in her eyes. "I know you've been stressed out lately, Jackson. You've been working non-stop, and I'm worried about you."
Jackson sighed, rubbing his temples.it's true he had been feeling overwhelmed lately, but he didn't want to burden his sister with his problems. "I'm fine, Emily. Just a lot on my plate, that's all."
Emily's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me, Jackson. I know you too well. You're not fine. You're exhausted, and you need to take a break."
Jackson looked at his sister, really looked at her, and saw the concern etched on her face. Emily was a petite woman, with a delicate features and a small nose, but she had a big personality and an even bigger heart. She was always looking out for him, even when he didn't want her to.
"Okay, okay," he said, holding up his hands in surrender. "I'll take a break. But just for a little while. I have a lot of work to do."
Emily nodded, a satisfied smile spreading across her face. "Good. I'll make sure you take care of yourself. Now, let's talk about something else. What's going on with you and Lexi?"
Jackson let out a gruffled expression "Who's lexi?"
"Like lexi lexi"she drawled "I'm talking about Lexi,"she said her voice barely above a whisper. "I know you met her at the hotel, and I know you've been looking for her ever since."
Jackson's eyes widened in shock, his mind reeling with confusion. "Lexi?" he repeated, his voice shaking with surprise. "How did you know her name?"
Emily leaned forward, a sly grin spreading across her face. "I have my ways, bro. But the point is, I know you're looking for her, and I think I can help you find her."
Jackson's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions. "Wait a minute," he said, holding up his hand. "You're telling me that the girl I met at the hotel... her name is Lexi?"
Emily nodded, her grin faltering for a moment. "Yes, that's right. Lexi. Why are you so surprised?"
Jackson shook his head, feeling like he'd been punched in the gut. "I didn't know her name," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been searching for her, but I had no idea what her name was."
Emily's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Well, now you know," she said, leaning back in her chair. "And I can help you find her, if you want."
Jackson's mind was reeling with questions, but before he could ask any of them, Emily continued. "So, what do you say, bro? Do you want to find Lexi?"
Jackson's eyes snapped to his sister's, his heart racing with surprise amd bafflement, how did this get out? "How did you know about Lexi?"
Emily laughed, a throaty sound that was both familiar and annoying. " like i said I have my ways, bro. Besides, you're not as sneaky as you think you are."
Jackson shook his head."Don't play that kind of games with me, Emily.,how did you know about her"
Emily's grin faltered for a moment, and she looked at her brother with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you. But you have to promise not to get mad."
Jackson raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "I'm not making any promises. Just tell me."
