June would have now stood within a hospital room looking downwards on one of the wounded soldiers from the fight. She looked down with an empty look, after the thrill of the fight had gone over her there was a certain strangeness to seeing the casualties of battle and the scars it left on someone. Before her was a man who had lost his arm, without it there would be so many things he couldn't do. She just hoped the doctor would be able to get to him before it got too late.
Her job was to be an assistant for now and so she would try the best that she could putting an antiseptic on the hollow place where the man's arm would be and wrapped it up in bandages to slow down the bleeding more. She would put a drip of blood going into the man to sustain him for some more time sitting down on the side next to him. Though as she sat with her hands on her chin the man seemed to turn his head to the side at her and stretched out a hand towards her.
"Th-thank you, lady. I thought I'd die out there. Those creatures, they're insane. So horrid, but I can't say I didn't expect this." The man would let out a slight chuckle. "But I still fight anyway for my country, you understand?"
June would give a little nod of her head. "Yes, I admire a man like you, you fight and die for what you believe in. Unlike many others who only speak with words you act as well. You are an honorable soldier. Now please go back to sleep" She would try to speak with a rather pleasant voice to soothe the soldier.
He would wave his hand up and down. "Yeah yeah alright doctor. But first I ask you something." June's ears would perk up wondering what he would have to say. "If I die, don't tell anyone."
June would stand up and seemed to look mad at the man for some reason. "I might respect that wish if you really were.. But don't speak like you're going to die. You're too strong to die. You've survived thus far then you shall survive further. You are not allowed to die young man."
The man would chuckle with a smile of relief across his face, he would lean back into his pillow and stare up at the sky. "I expected you to question it, not talk my ear off. You sound just like my old woman." there was a slight pause. "You know, if sometimes I were to die, not today alright. But if it were to come I'd want everyone to think I'm still out here fighting. Fighting on and on in an epic battle and that's the reason I don't come back."
At first June would seem confused at that thought, really thinking about it is a peculiar thing in hindsight. But an understanding look would come over her face as she sat back down. The man closed his eyes to rest.
Soon there would have been the sound of the door opening, but footsteps that sounded quiet in comparison to the hurried action of the individual who was Dr. Bale. He would get to the side of the man and extend a hand out as his green aura would encroach upon the man [Restore]. Once he had done this a green aura would come around the man and concentrate on his arm as an arm made out of the green energy would be created.
"Alright, I was a little low on power with that one, but your arm should come back in a week tops.. Oh he's asleep." Dr. Bale would turn over towards that of June. "Well Ms June, remember what I said. Now that we're all finished up here you can come back into the country with me. Don't worry those two girls you were working with will be here till everyone else is fixed up."
June would stand up seeming quite pleased with finally being able to get out of this environment and finally see a place that seemed more friendly. Dr. Brian motioned her to follow him outside.
June would perk up as they wandered curious about the city as they were now going to it, she would show such excitement in her voice, though tried to not be too uppity to annoy him. "So, what's it like? The place I mean."
He would think of how to put it exactly as he got his thoughts together. "Well June in the year 2099 that we are in, all of our land has been updated to the latest standards. I would say it is quite beautiful, especially with all the nature that's around there. It keeps me quite comfortable, most things are nicely spaced, it's a mostly suburban place."
As he was going to continue talking, the year was what caught her eye, so they were actually in the future?! Most times you go into another world it's always old time, well she should have picked up on that from the modern or well futuristic hospital. She would assume most people would just use guns, but the skill of the leader of the skirmish, Betholamew certainly seemed stronger than any gun.
Dr. Bale would continue "Anyways, the place we will be staying in Evergreen is called Birch Town, which is the center of Birch City not too big but its a pretty good size, and a nice community. Mostly known as an adventurer place for the influx of them that come through here to get their start. Because of that it is pretty well refined with all the businesses booming around it, well mostly."
When he spoke of mostly it seemed that he was lingering on something, likely something specific. It was curious as to what, but whatever it was they would soon find out.
"Anyways, we've talked for enough time to get a little boost."
Suddenly Bale would grab onto the hand of June as his green aura would begin to course around his body and hers. Suddenly they would both jet off traveling an incredible distance in only an instance. Now they were at the entrance of the city from its outside border. Two guards would stand outside a gate and stare at the newcomers. Behind them was a very large gate with doors and a large fence stemming off from the side. Once they reached close enough the guards would speak.
"Papers please."
Bale would take out a paper showing his citizenship of Evergreen, but then he would look over at June seeing the problem, but then remembering they probably were already informed from Sir Betholamew "Ah, this is the girl who fell from the sky. So she has no identification, could you please give her one?" The two guards would have nodded as they handed June the paper.
"Huh another one then, how strange." The guard would say after handing her the paper.
June would begin to fill it out, though she did hear what the guard had said. She looked up from her paper after signing it curiously and handing it to him to take her picture. "There are others like me?"
The man would indicate for her to look at him properly and then raise his hands as he took a magical snapshot of her and placed it on the paper. "Yeah we got another that came down, they said they were a part of some sort of secret magic agency? Dunno where they are right now sorry mam." The guard says with a slight bow of condolence.
She would nervously raise her hand after taking the paper back. "It's really no problem thank you." They nod and walk over to the gate and then touch it as the door would open allowing for herself and Bale to go through the gate.
Bale would point over into a direction if a street that was filled with multiple different shops that all seemed glamorous and appealing, but when Dr. Bale turned to the left and stopped, they would see one that seemed the exact opposite of that. "Now this is why I said mostly, but unfortunately this is where you'll have to stay. I've aided you for enough time, so this is where you get to explore on your own." She would look shocked.
"Wait, you can't just leave me like that! I'm gonna die! I don't have any money or-." June would quickly speak as she was worried.
Bale would wave his hand around "Hey stop I'm gonna do one more thing follow me inside." He would wander inside with June following, this place was some sort of Inn, bar, restaurant. She was confused why this place seemed so bad, and there was not a single person there.
"Greetings Judas." Bale would say with a slightly chipper tone. On the other hand Judas would have his head slumped down on the counter as he looked so miserable.
"Hey Bale, what do you want?" The man would groan speaking with barely any energy in his voice.
"Well Judas, I want you to give this lady a place to stay and a job." Bale would speak back calmly.
In opposition to his calmness though Judas suddenly sat up and stared at him with wide eyes a slight tint of anger.
"JOB!? Do you jest Bale? What do you expect me to pay her in, the dust that comes from the floor? I can barely pay my bills in this place. Don't even know if I'll make it past this month."
Despite his outburst Bale would look back at him with a rather calm and stoic face, but then a smirk encroached upon it. "You won't be paying her, all you need is to give her a place to live. But with her help you can get your business back up and running. Then you pay her, alright?"
Judas would seem suspicious about him and pointed at June as she suddenly jumped backwards and raised her hands. "You really think this lass could help? She doesn't look all that bright, especially about business." Which would make June slightly sob at such a comment.
Bale would seem confident within June as he continued to speak on her behalf. "Well, I am almost never wrong, am I? Besides even if she doesn't perform well its no skin off your back is it."
Judas would put a hand on his head as he reeled back and groaned. "Fineee! But if she doesn't do well you owe me a whole lot of money alright."
Bale would walk over to him and shake his hand. "Deal."
