A week from the last moment had passed and the morning was just shining within the pleasant lands of Evergreen. The beautiful sunlight reflected off of every surface igniting a vibrant and positive atmosphere as there was just an aura of pleasantries that illuminated the air topped with the delightful aroma of the various floral scents that draped through many wondrous gardens of the city. And there were sounds of feet hitting the ground with pauses in between, that was because June was skipping through the town of Birchwood as she went towards her long or rather short anticipated event of the adventurer examination. As she sauntered around she would get some strange looks and some smiles from passers who knew her from the time she stayed there, some wishing her luck.
The examination was on the outskirts of Evergreen due to its rather big area of expanse so the need had been there…
Finally after some time of dilly dallying and wandering there she would arrive to the entrance area of the examination grounds with all of the people grouped up that were as well aspiring adventurers as she was, but alas all of them had different reasons which was certainly one of the magics of the differences of being.
There were people that had all different kinds of looks about them, everyone laced with their own sort of charm and story due to their different styles and ways of life, some of them seemed to be rather tough, others were more meek. Some were very tall and others were very small, but one thing seemed to be unanimous about everyone there. It was not the desire to all complete this examination, but it was their clear distance from one part of the room.
They all stood away from one corner of the room with some of them giving it quick worried glances and others just staring in that direction in some sort of worry that was unanimous for all the adventurers. There was a strange figure that sat within that corner of the examination field decked out in full armor of a proper knight that covered every single inch of his body, and not even the eyes to be seen as they were blocked off by a black fabric. Without saying a word that armored person had radiated an aura that felt as if he already had held a sword to the necks of everyone within the site cementing such a strange presence for the stranger.
June's reaction to this would have been quite different from this, her eyes slowly gazing over the place until they landed onto the armored individual. She would see them and would seem to tilt her head in confusion. The knight was sitting on a bench with their sword leaning against it. Their arms laid in their lap and their head facing downwards as if they were off in some sort of deep thought.
Steps would suddenly be heard by the knight, they would start off low and slow coming towards him, but the sounds of the footsteps only grew louder and louder as the time passed, and once the short time frame had completed itself they had stopped once they had reached their maximum due to proximity towards themselves. The knight would slowly turn their head upwards and stare June directly in the face.
In the audience of the place, those still standing on the other side would begin to murmur and gasp at the simple action of June walking closer towards the knight as if he had done something horrible. From their reaction you would have thought that June had just sentenced herself to death.
June would begin to open up her mouth as her hand would extend outwards towards the knight as if she had wanted to help him. "Hey there, so what're you looking to be an adventurer here for."
The knight that had been sitting all on their lonesome would have slowly turned their head upwards towards that of June, their metal armor making a small noise with every movement, though fluid as it was clearly well taken care of. Their eyes would now meet hers and stayed there for some time not even bothering to say something as soon as she had, but eventually words would leave the mouth of the knight. "I.. because of this girl I like." the voice coming out of the armor would not be the one that you'd expect from the intimidating experience it gave off, and the fact that it made them appear to be an adult. They sounded like a young boy with a bit of chipper in their voice.
The boy would have extended his hand backwards slowly and grabbed onto June's. June would shake his hand and then took to have a seat right next to him.
"Oh, I didn't expect you were just a kid huh. Well don't worry, it seems you made yourself look tough enough." She would say and playfully poked at the torso part of their chest armor.
The boy would seem to retort as if he was taken aback by the comment. "Hey! I am sixteen I'll have you know, and they say I am one of the toughest of my age."
A small smile would curl onto the expression of June hearing the quick retort of the kid. "If you say so, so what's your name kid? I'm June Whittaker, I work at an Inn not too far from here. You should totally come by after this because they have some great food."
The boy would respond now in a more normal manner. "Hey lady I just met you, don't go asking me to come to your strange place, but if you want to know you can call me Ghengis Lacree." There was a short pause before he continued talking. "Say, why are you even talking to me?"
June would seem to simply roll her eyes at the last remark. "Why do you think Ghengis? Hmm that sounds too old for a kid like you, I'll call you Gen. Anyways you are right I suppose I should earn your trust first huh. Well I'll get you some ice cream after this deal?" The boy seemed to quickly nod. "Now then… Who do you think is going to do the best here." June would say staring around the crowd wanting to simply play a small game with the child.
There would be a finger on the chin of the boy before he goes to pick out two groups. In one of the groups there was a rather tall and imposing looking woman showing off a defined body, short dark hair draped from the top of her head in a spiky yet flowing fashion and a black mask covering her face. A suit and black gloves on leaving any sort of trace of her gone, to speak of it June had not even realized her presence when she had entered here. And then standing next to and certainly below her was a smaller guy that appeared to be rather mysterious in his own right, there was a cloaked robe-like thing wrapped around him that concealed his entire body and left a cascading shadow over his face.
The other group that was pointed to seemed to have two girls within it, and both of them appeared to look almost exactly the same in appearance meaning that they were likely twins of some sort or somehow just oddly matching people down to a tee. They were both wearing the same outfits, white robes that had sigils etched onto them, they stopped just around the beginning of their legs. And on their legs they wore white leggings to fit the gap the cloak left. And around their necks would be something of curiosity for June, she could only assume it was some sort of religious symbol, it appeared to be an X, or maybe it was just a cross turned the wrong way. Though all sides were the same size.
June would look at them both curiously and then went back to looking at Gen. "I think that you're gonna do the best and I'll make a bet on it. But if I lose and your pics do better, you get double ice cream."
Gen would look over at June and would show a joking frown on his face. "You say that like you want me to do bad."
