Chapter 5 - New World, Same Planet

Leaning against a tree would be the man in the trench coat and tophat that seemed to have their face completely blocked off, once more within the realm of earth with George and the two children confronting this mysterious man.

"So, hello then. Mr George, who is that you've lost?"

George would have responded quickly with a great hope within his eyes. This was now his only chance, he would blindly go into this.

"M-my wife. She disappeared yesterday and I haven't seen her since. My kids said she disappeared inside of a washing machine, in some sort of strange flash."

Hearing that the man seemed to stand up from where he was, this had caught his attention. He would motion over for them to walk to a more secluded part of the park with less people walking around, and he would respond to George as they walked with the kids following quickly behind him letting him handle this.

"Well George boy, I'm going to tell you something that might sound crazy, but I am a part of the MIB, something that some people call the Men in Black, but truthfully the title is… the Magic International Bureau"

And after the man had said that all of them would have stopped silently and would have looked at the man with different expressions George with his eyes wide open stretched at him showing his shock at hearing such a thing. In the rational mind of an adult like him, an idea like this just sounded far fetched and ludicrous. The two children on the other hand had their mouths open in shock and awe as if they had just heard the coolest thing ever and were gushing at the moment. Although Marie suddenly crossed her arms and looked at him with a suspicious look. George looked at her confused but then copied her stance.

"So you say you're a part of the MIB huh, where's your proof?" Marie would say as she then walked up to the man and got on her tippy toes to try and seem as intimidating as she could to the stranger, with her brother Benthony trying to do the same

"Yeah what she said!" Echoing the sentiment of her sister to increase their intimidation factor and get the information out of the kids, they could totally be interrogation officers.

The man would seem to raise his hands up in the air as if their tactics had actually worked. "Okay okay fine! Calm down you two." He would speak in a playfully frightened tone, then shaking his head.

His hand would dive into his pocket pulling out his wallet, and within the wallet would be a badge and card denoting the name of "William Hopskith." with a picture attached towards it. This showed that the man before was in fact a member of this MIB. The crest of their badge seemed to be a shield with various fantastical things like a magic wand and a dragon sticking out from the back of it.

There would be something else that he would display to show his authenticity, that would certainly send someone off of their feet and knock their proverbial socks off. He stepped back from the kids and wafted his hand to the side as suddenly what seemed like a gust of wind had come over him blowing off the trenchcoat and the tophat as it disappeared into seemingly nothingness. Now fitted onto him would be a pure black suit with an attached cloak that flowed around and a tie draped down the neck with a simple black pair of glasses covering his face. Attached to the suit would be the same badge from before, white symbols draped across the outfit seeming to be mystical in nature.

Now within the hands of the man was a magic one, the classic one you would see with the black staff and white tip. The man's face was stern, seemingly what some people would call a resting grumpy face likely established in such a serious work that he is involved with. He had low shaved black hair like one from the military and a small stubble beard. His most unique feature was the strange red eyes that would be very rare to see. The wand within his hand would suddenly disappear into nothingness with a poof as he put his hands within his pockets.

"So is that enough to convince you" William would say with a somewhat smug face, although he was supposedly a more stoic figure, there was some sort of spark inside of him when he got to share magic with others.

"Yeah you certainly got me convinced." He would say while rubbing the back of his head nervously, he hoped he didn't make this guy upset. And he would cautiously stand in front of his children defensively.

On the other hand the kids were jumping up in the air from behind their father as they would be so awestruck and excited at the sight of such magic that they were jumping with joy and would speak with unison. "Teach us, teach us, teach us!"

William seemed to ignore the kids for some reason and looked back up at George. "Come with me to my car, we must go to our U.S sector of the M.I.B. If you want your answers you'll come with me and ask me anything in the car."

George was well more than convinced by the man's displays and awestruck, he was slightly hesitant but the prospects that were him possibly seeing his wife once more weighed out all of his suspicions. He would scoop up his two kids and follow the man into the car. The car seemed to be a rather old one from back in the day. To be specific a 1964 mercury super marauder in all black with tinted windows to conceal the contents of its inside. They would all step inside with George and the kids in the back and the man of course in the front.

The car would start up and the first questions were already flying, before Geroge could even say his the kids were even faster spurting out of their mouths. "Sir, how does magic work!"

The man would seem a bit eager to talk for a moment, but then seemed to push himself back as if it was something he shouldn't speak of. He contemplated for a moment but then decided to continue on.

"Well since you guys are already deep enough into this I suppose it's no trouble that I tell you. Now what kind of people do you think are naturally closest to reaching magic."

While George would sit back, he thought it was some sort of rhetorical question though the kids who were very uppy about this would answer.

"Dinosaurs." Benthony would answer as if it was obvious

"Wizard people!" Marie would follow after giving her own answer which seemed to be far more obvious to her.

William would do a slight whistle. "Well the girl isn't wrong." Marie would turn over to Benthony with a smirk as he just turned away from her. "But, I meant those that are not wizard people as you called it. For the most part it is those spiritually aware, like those who practice religion a high point being buddhist. To learn magic, one must use 100% of their brain. And in enlightenment they may do so, and far far more reaching what would be the pinnacle of magic and beyond. It has something to do with spiritual awareness and devotion, will, etc. Though even with that many people just haven't unlocked it and you may wonder why."

He would look back for a moment seeing them all just stare back up at them. The kids were lost as they did not know about a whole bunch of things he just said. Well they didn't need to understand. Marie and Benthony's gazes shifted towards their dad. He seemed to somewhat get what he was saying. He looked down at them knowing without them needing to speak what they were thinking.

"Uhm, i'll try to explain it in a way you two can understand later." George would quietly say

William now continued. "It is because of us. We have stopped people from gaining magic, before you ask why the answer is quite simple. In general humanity is not ready for magic. Our job is to keep it away from them and any sort of fantastical creatures that try to come or supernatural events that occur. You know the usual stuff."

When he finally finished talking George would speak, in a low tone as he leaned closer to William. "So, what happened to my wife, where is she? I need to know please."

William would inhale deeply as he gripped onto the wheel tightly. "You know, my wife, or soon to be wife disappeared too. I was going to propose to her yesterday, but then she suddenly disappeared right at the end of a mission like that. It's how we opened up this case in the first place. I'm sorry I can't tell you anything I wish I could. But we're gonna figure it out alright?"

George would slowly nod as he retreated back into his seat, relaxing his body and grabbing each of his kids with one arm squeezing them together with him.

Now about where they were driving? The man was speeding directly towards a brick wall.
