Coco's pov
I walked steadily to the class on my schedule, it was on the second floor. The school was huge with ancient designs and antiques that adorned the whole place, "wow.." I gasped in admiration.
" Loitering in the halls, are we, miss?" A thick voice boomed behind me and I turned to see a teacher dressed in a grey shirt and pants...he looked like he was in his early thirties.
" Oh... I was just going to class." I said and he smiled at me
" Well get to it, miss Millers. we take school rules very seriously here at mt. olives...you do not want to be a rule breaker, especially not on your first day." He said, his hazel eyes staring deep into mine, I gulped.
Noticing my discomfort, he grinned happily, adjusting the collar of his shirt...
" Right," I cleared my throat " could you point me in the right direction." I asked politely.
" Last class down the hall. Run along now, miss Millers." He said and walked away...
How did he know what class I was searching for?
More importantly, how did he know my name?.
I shrugged lightly and made my way towards the class.
".....and since the heat is absorbed, the reaction would be endothermic.." the teacher's voice boomed as I approached the door.
" You're thirty minutes late, miss, wipe the board for me and go take a seat." He said not sparing me a glance. Few students snikered
" Uh...no..I'm a new student. I just got here." I explained and that seemed to catch his attention and of the whole class's cause everyone was now staring at me.
The teacher collected my slip and looked through.
" Well, welcome to mt. Olives miss Millers, I'm Mr. Hugh Hefner and I take chemistry. Would you like to say one or two things about yourself?" He asked.
" Nope." I answered, popping the 'p' loudly.
" Very well. Have a seat. Be nice to her students and give her a warm welcome." He says and a few students murmured a 'welcome' to me as I found a seat , right next to a girl with red hair and thick round glasses
Mr. Hefner continues teaching...
" Hey...pssst...new girl.." the girl beside me whispered, poking my seat slightly.
" Stop it." I said, turning to face her and she smiled.
" I'm Sydney. " She said... looking at me
" Coco." I simply said.
" Cool name. You came pretty late, semester's almost over, but don't worry, I'll show you the ropes you'll catch up in no time." She said. I gave a tight smile taking out my earbuds and putting them on.
" Oh okay I'll leave you to it.." she said.
Ten minutes later, the bell rang for recess and the students walked out, a few offering me a ' hey' ,'hi' or 'hello'.
"Miss Millers." Mr. Hefner called and I walked to him
" See you in the cafeteria, coco." The sid girl said walking out too.
" Yes,Mr. Hefner." I answered and he handed me a textbook.
"This is pretty much everything we've covered, you might not find this book in the library or the supply shop ... It covers all the important topics. " He said with a kind smile. He kinda reminded me of uncle Lamar.
" Thanks, sir." I said taking the book.
" Good luck, miss Millers." He said... and I saw something flashed through his eyes...pity? Fear? Hmmmmm.
I collected my food, walked towards an empty table and sat
" I told you to get me a vanilla milkshake not a strawberry.." the girl beside me whined.
" Oh... sorry I'll return it." One of her minions spoke. Ah... I hated this type of girls.
" I'll get it my self." She said, walking to the vendor. Blonde hair, big blue eyes and a pretty face with perky boobs she looked like she jumped out of a barbie movie.. she walks with an air of arrogance around her....a queen bee.
Finishing up my food, I was about to drink my soda when...
" Oops...I slipped." The blonde girl said with a smirk. She had pushed me from behind causing my drink to spill all over me .
" Did you now? " I said, trying to keep my cool..
don't do anything stupid
don't do anything stupid
don't do anything stupid
I chanted repeatedly.
" Think I did you a favor... those jeans are so not giving.." she said and most people chuckled.
" What's your name newbie" she asked , pinching my cheeks, I swat her hand away and stood up.
" That's none of your fuckin businesses dearie." I intentionally stepped on her foot
" Ow! You... " She raised her hands but I caught it..
" Ah ah ah..it was an accident. I really didn't see your foot." I said sweetly to the girl, who looked shocked
" I'll take this.." I said taking the milkshake from her hand and walking away.
There was loud ' OOOs' and ' woahs' as I left the hall with a smirk.
" Who is she?" The blonde girl asked angrily.
Ohh sweetie you have no idea.
" That was so cool." The redhead popped out of nowhere.
" No one has ever stood up to kiki before." She added
" Hmmm." I said, wishing she would just go away.
Just then the bell rang signaling the end of recess. According to my schedule, I had PHE classes next....
" Ohh... We have different classes, are you sure you'll be fine alone ?" She said, peeping into my schedule.
" Sure." I said, trying my hardest to sound polite.
" Okay!" She said walking away happily.
Finally.
I hurried to the gym and entered, I love PE classes.
After everyone was settled the coach, Mr. Phill Lewis, had me introduce myself and the class formally began.
The gym was big and well equipped , the machines looking new and nice
Wasn't this school like a thousand years old or something?
They probably refurbished it from time to time.
Through the door I could see the next room which happened to be a basketball court with players running around....
" You seem quite interested in basketball." I heard a voice and turned to face a dark guy with curly hair. I didn't realize I had been watching the game for quite awhile.
" Huh.. what makes you think so?" I said, walking over to the other side of the room where a group of students were doing jumping jacks. He followed me.
"The fact that you're eyes have been glued to them since we started." He said with a smile. He was... Cute.
" Banks, less talking, more jumping." Coach said.
" Yes coach P." He smiled a dimpled smile as he continues.
" I haven't seen you here before, and not just here—as in the gym — are you new, what's your name? I'm Tyler by the way, Tyler Banks."
I never asked. Not to seem rude, I answered,
" Coco."
" Well nice to meet you, Coco."
Just then, the bell rang.
" Be sure to eat healthy and always stay hydrated." The coach said as we walked out the gym.
I found myself walking towards the basketball court, only then did I realize how much I've missed it. I stood at the door and watched, I felt my eyes tear up when I remembered my dad...as I willed myself to take relaxing deep breaths, I vaguely heard a,
" Yo! Watch out!"
Next thing I knew I was on the floor.
Shit.
