Coco's pov
The alarm from my phone blared loudly making me wake up with a start.
6am.
Classes start by 8am. I had two whole hours to get ready... I could just sleep for ten more minutes, right?
**********
" Coco!" I heard a voice.
I sat up with a groan.
"Hey! I know you're still in there. Open up we're going to be late!" The person said, simultaneously banging on the door.
" I'm up, I'm up." I stood and stretched .
Was it ten minutes already?
I glanced at my phone that was on the table.
7:42am!!!
Fuck fuck fuck
I quickly opened the door revealing a concerned looking sid.
" Are you alright?" She asked.
" I overslept." I mumbled popping my toothbrush in my mouth and stuffing the books on my desk into my backpack.
I was going to be late on my first day.... great.
" Well good thing we don't have classes till 9."
What?
" What do you mean?" I asked, turning to stare at a smiling sid.
" Your first class is by 9am. Geography right?.
I saw it in your schedule yesterday." She clarified and I rumaged through my backpack for the piece of paper.
She was right.
" I'm guessing you also don't have any classes now." I said,
" Yeah. We both have the same classes throughout today, isn't that exciting!" She squealed.
" Why then were you banging my door and screaming like a maniac?" I said, heading to the door, I needed to brush my teeth and take a shower before going to get my bags at security.
" Nothing." She shrugged, following me out.
" Do you mind.?" I said since it seems like she was going to follow me to the bathroom.
" Oh. Right, I'll wait for you outside." She smiled, walking away.
" Please don't." I answered.
******************
" I absolutely hate action movies. Like who would want to watch a couple of guys beat each other up, right?" Sid said as we neared the gate.
" I love action movies. And FYI it's not just a couple of guys beating each other up." I say
" Yeah right. I'll pick a classic rom com any day. " She said with a dramatic sigh.
" Ugggh. "
After collecting the bags, we headed back to the dorms.
" Are you sure you can carry that? You're wasting time. " I said to sid who was struggling with one of my bags.
" No, nope, I've got it "she said.
"Hey ladies." It was the boy from the gym standing in front of us.
" Hello." I said.
" Let me help with that." He says, collecting the bag from sid.
" Oh God... thank you." Sid sighed in relief.
"Let me help." He said trying to collect the trolley I was pulling.
" No thanks. I'm good." I said.
" I know you are. I just want to help." He smiled
" No really. It's fine." I argued.
" I insist. Please."
" Just give him the bag , Coco." Sid said and I huffed, handing it to him as we walked on.
" So, you know each other?" Sid spoke.
" Yeah. " I said.
"We met yesterday," he said " I'm Tyler Banks by the way." He told sid.
" I know. We have history classes together and we were in a group project together last semester." She said.
" Oh. How did I not notice." Tyler said.
We reached the dorm.
" We'll take it from here. Thank you." I said
" Oh don't be silly, dear. I'll help you upstairs." He said his muscles flexing as he lifts the bags up, going up the stairs With sid behind him
'what a gentleman..' she mouthed to me and I rolled my eyes.
" Thank you." I said,
"Yeah, I don't know what we'd have done without you." Sid said, revealing her braced teeth in a full grin.
" Hey, no problem." He chuckled softly.
" See you, Coco and....."
" Sid, Sydney Parker." Sid said.
" Alright. Bye." He waved, walking away.
" Okay, Coco. Day one and you've already gotten a handsome guy crushing on you." Sid said, looking impressed.
" You're insane." I shook my head, walking into my room.
Sid laughed loudly.
******************************************
" We only have ten minutes till class starts, hurry up." Sid said as we ate.
" Shut up.." I said, munching on my meal.
I wasn't eating slow or anything but sid had only gotten two celery. Like two pieces of celery and that was it, with a cup of coffee.
I on the other hand had three sandwiches— egg cheese and tomato with ketchup and a bottle of coke.
Mmmmmm
" Six minutes... hurry up Mrs. Trelawney doesn't go easy on late—" she stopped mid sentence.
I looked up at her to find her staring at the door, everyone was staring at the door and the cafeteria had quietened down.
" What's happening?" I asked.
" It's..t-th-them." sid stuttered.
Them who?
Just then, five boys walked in causing most girls in the cafeteria gasp dramatically, I could even spot a few who were literally drooling.
Ewwww
The boys made their way to a desk by the window passing besides our desk before they reached and then I saw him.
Him being the boy I challenged to a game yesterday!
Blondie?
As if hearing what I said, his eyes snapped to mine and he chuckled softly.
Did I say that out loud?
" Oh my gosh oh my gosh...he smiled at you. No, not a smile, he chuckled." Sid said hitting my arm simultaneously after they had left.
" Stop it." I said, shielding my arm from her assault.
" You called him Blondie. " She said.
So I did say it out loud.
" I may have challenged him to a game of basketball yesterday." I said.
" You did what?! Okay the fact that you talked to him is like... amazing, but challenging him to a game?! He's like the best player in the whole state and he's part of the fantastic five." She said hurriedly.
" Fantastic five? What is this? Some cliché teenage highschool movie?" I huffed, My eyes darting to were they sat.
My Goodness...they are handsome. Like gorgeous, I can see why everyone was gushing about them.
Especially the one in the middle, tall, tan, with brown hair and a hint of tattoo peeking from the collar of his shirt and the end of his sleeve. He was typing on his phone mindlessly, his muscles flexing a bit, how could I even tell from where I sat?
I don't know.
He let out a sigh, causing his perfectly pink lips to part a bit, he looked so....picturesque.
I bet his eyes were some exotic color like blue or green... maybe a mix of both.....
As if on cue, his eyes snapped to mine.
I was wrong. They were brown. Coffee brown, and by god were they the most beautiful pair of eyes ive ever seen.
" ....they are.... so.. mysterious..... Coco, are you even hearing what I'm saying?...." I could vaguely hear Sid's voice.
I couldn't look away, his eyes were like magnets pulling me in and —
" Coco!" Sid said.
" Hmmm?" I was startled back to reality.
" Are you okay?" Sid asked.
Just then, the bell rang for the next period.
" I'm fine." I mumbled, standing up to go but not before one quick glance at their table. He was gone.
"Come on." I said to sid and we left the cafeteria.
