Inamaru and Sinoca decided that for the next few months, they would train together. They both needed to get stronger before the time came when they would take on the DCU. During that time period, they would enhance their techniques, improve their physical bodies, and spar with one another. As they trained and pushed each other, one thing was clear. Sinoca was a true fighting genius. She had adapted to her new life rather quickly. Living with Inamaru, the two of them grew close rather quickly. They've become like siblings. It didn't take long for Sinoca to learn that she was wanted by the government. She was considered a traitor to humanity. It hurt her a little bit to know that her people thought of her as a traitor, but it was to be expected. The DCU were basically the authority when it came to all demon-related issues, so it's no surprise that the government would believe whatever they said about her was true. The good news was, they didn't know where she was. Sinoca also had a hard time believing that she would be a high priority target for the DCU. As far as the higher-ups knew, she was simply a soldier that got hold of some information she shouldn't have been able to. Both sides knew that if she went public with this information, most of the public would not believe her and she would simply be exposing herself to them. Sinoca was now considered to be on the run. All the more reason for her to level up as much as possible. As the month passed by, both Sinoca and Inamaru were both growing, sparring every day. One thing that was not changing, was that Sinoca was the better fighter. Sinoca not only that, but the gap was widening. It almost made Inamaru feel like he was standing still. Feeling left behind, Inamaru started to feel left behind. He started to feel the need to prove himself. As they hung out, Sinoca would often times talk about her time at the DCU and how things work there, absentmindedly. It was the vast majority of her adult life. Hearing about how things worked, he started to think, maybe it was a chance he had to prove himself. One day, Sinoca told him about when Ruyen told her what the knight exams were like. How they all went to a mountain west of the city and fought each other to prove their worth. Inamaru thought that he could be the one to prove himself against them. She didn't have an exact location, but it just so happened that the annual exams were coming up. So one night, while Sinoca was asleep, Inamaru snuck out. He snuck to the west outskirts of the city. Unfortunately, he did not have an exact location, so his plan was to either look for a mountain nearby, or find the group on the way up and take them out there. He looked for a couple of hours, but it seemed as if both options were nowhere to be found. Inamaru was planning to give up, when a scent of smoke hit his nose. He started to follow the senescent, and eventually, he found the mountain Sinoca told him about. As he climbed, the closer he got, he could hear the sounds of combat coming from above. Excitedly, he ran to the top of the mountain. There was a large fire at the top as three knights and multiple soldiers stood forming a circle. On the inside of the circle were two soldiers fighting each other. There was a general also inside the circle officiating the match. Inamaru howled loudly to get their attention. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at Inamaru. Many of the soldiers were frightened, but every knight was calm in the face of the werewolf.
"Attention!" The generals yelled. Commanding the attention of the group. Slowly, he walked up to Inamaru, who readied himself to attack. The general scoffed, turning his back to Inamaru facing the rest of the DCU soldiers. "It appears we have an opportunity," he said. "Anyone that can kill this wolf one on one will automatically jump to knight."
"You coward, I want you to fight me!" Inamaru yelled. The general looked Inamaru up and down and scoffed again.
"You aren't worth my time," the general said before turning back to his men. "So who's first?" Inamaru tried to attack the general from behind, but he was countered and flipped onto his back, placing his fut on Inamaru's shoulder, pinning him down. "Don't make me hurt you, it'll make this little test pointless." The general lifted his foot and Inamaru sped to his feet. He couldn't believe how easy it was for the general to take him down. He started to realize how bad of an idea this was. Still, he was in it now. His only choice was to keep fighting. Fortunately for him, there were soldiers ready to take him on. The first one to step up was a soldier that was quite large. He had a blond buzz cut and big bulging muscles. He stepped forward quite confidently, wearing two metal gauntlets on his hands. The others recreated the circle from before. Inamaru hesitated, but ultimately he had no choice but to enter. The two fighters began to face off. Inamaru charged at the soldier, a bit faster than he expected. The soldier barely managed to block the strike with his gauntlet. However, Inamaru was aggressive, continuing to attack the soldier, each strike backing the soldier up. Inamaru had power, but his fighting style was rather simplistic, something that the knights and generals took note of. Ultimately, the soldier was forced to his knees by Inamaru's raw strength.
"Take heed men," the general said, "these are the type of monsters we are up against." Many of the soldiers watched in horror as Inamaru pierced the soldiers' chest with his claw. The impact was strong enough that the claw went all the way through the soldier's back. The blood splashed onto Inamaru. As Inamaru pulled his hand out, he looked over to the general.
"Who's next!"
