Nux, Jaco and Riley had the house to themselves. Beth and Mary are busy young ladies, Beth study's at a university in Berlin and Mary had gon to visit her parents. Nux introduced a lot of things to Riley and even set him up with a tutor to teach him German. Riley as smart as he is can only speak in a couple of languages, Portuguese, English, French and Japanese. Well he was peer pressured to study Japanese because the weebs look down on people who watch Dubbed anime.
The next day at the Fußballpark Hohenbuschei a training ground for the academy kids. Riley was getting geared up with a training kit provided by the club. After he was done he went to the pitch where cones and dummies had been set up. "Listen up kid, I get that you impressed old man Nux and that is a hard thing to do. Impress me too and we shall take it from there." A middle aged man said. Riley was tasked with completing 3 drills, sprinting to test his speed, through-the-cones to test his dribbling ability and he was put through a rondo by the old men there.
Riley of course aced these drills and earned a few praises. Mike Tullberg the under 19 head coach stared at the boy with interest. Riley was meant to join the under 17 training scrimmage but the coaches had forgotten that they swapped schedules and the under 19's were meant to train because their game got moved up. Mike Tullberg sized Riley up as he downed a bottle of water, "Put him in the under 19's scrimmage." The other coaches were shocked at those words and they threw strange looks at the man. "What? It's just a scrimmage. What can he do."
After contemplating his words the coaches eventually agreed. They instructed Riley to join the group of young man who were juggling the ball. Riley complied and jogged to these guys. "Okay guys, this is Riley Santos he is a young player trying out for the team. He was supposed to join the under 17 but we forgot we swapped schedules. Take care of him okay?" The under 19's assistant coach instructed in German.
Riley was played with the reserves he got a starting position. He played in his favourite position: Attacking midfielder. The match began and the under 19 starters were relentless in their attack. Riley had been passive since these players were stronger than him. His chance came when his team's goalkeeper punched the ball from a corner kick, the ball landed on Riley's foot who brought it down with an immaculate first touch.
Wasting no time he turned around and charged at the defensive midfielder who was known for his great reading of the game and his aggressive tackling. Riley didn't know that and even if he did he wouldn't care. He dribbled the ball as the DM came to engage him. He did a one step over and pushed the ball with the outside of his left foot to inject pace but the DM read that move and stretched a leg to try and block his route. Riley who anticipated that touched the ball delicately with his toe and ended up nutmegging the player.
Everyone was stunned, even Mike raised an eyebrow at this. Riley burst out with his explosive pace never once looking to see if his teammates were close by. The teams speedsta, a guy who played on the right wing tried catching up but Riley saw him. The RW tried to slide tackle the ball but Riley just kicked it hard enough to evade him and he skipped over the challenge.
The coaches and almost everyone on the pitch was stunned. Grandpa Nux who thought he had a bit of understanding of Riley's attributes was shocked as well. A player on crutches who was going somewhere suddenly stopped to watch Riley. "Who is this kid?" He questioned.
